Love the taco Wednesday. Good food, decent prices, well lit and low drama. Rikki is the best server if you get her shift.

Here's what you need to know about The Original Pancake House on Portland Road NE in Salem:…read more 1. This is a company-owned location. They use the original recipes and quality ingredients for all pancakes and waffles. In my opinion, their quality and taste shows... and is well worth it. 2. No wait on a weekday morning around 11:30 a.m. Weekends, however are another matter! The wait is worth it 3. I can vouch for the Dutch Baby, French Crepes, Cherry Kijafa Crepes and Pumpkin Pancakes. These are my favorites along their egg specialties. These are my absolute favorites. 4. My waitress today was friendly, personable and responsive. What more can one ask for? 5. The ambiance? Classic American family-style diner. 6. While the price might be a bit higher than what you are used to, remember that inflation includes the cost of ingredients and everything else that goes into running a restaurant business. This place is worth it.

Wait staff was pleasant. Food was very over priced for what we got. Example, $18 for bacon and eggs…read morewith cubed potatoes. Potatoes were hard and had no seasoning, not even a little salt. Seasonal fruit consisted of strawberries. 1 egg is $4.25, 2 was $6, side of "seasonal fruit" aka strawberries is $9. I can buy a dozen local eggs at Roth's for $1.99. We spent more here for breakfast, than we did last night at McMenamin's for dinner.

10 OMG where do I begin? We visited this quaint little…read morerestaurant in Salem Oregon on our way out of town. We had the pleasure of having the best waitress named Kelly. Kelly was so friendly, so full of life and energy and love. It seemed like everyone loves working there.. The food was absolutely amazing. Amazing from beginning to end this was by far superior to any restaurant I've been to in a long time. The service, the food, the ambience, sure wish it was in my town. Everyone at our table enjoyed their breakfast. We couldn't take it with us unfortunately because we're flying home today, but the portions are huge. Do yourself a favor and visit this cozy place. The wait can be a bit, but absolutely beyond worth the wait.

Stairs up to entry was very dangerous with waiting customers using handrails on both sides, then,…read moreno landing at the top! We told hostess we did not want to sit at the bar, she sat us at the bar, after some more wait, we did get a table. Coffee was ok, but the cups were huge, always 2/3 full of cold coffee. The food took one hour to find our table. Nothing special, my wife had an omelet, with a big glob of Brie cheese, overpowering the omelet. I had corned beef hash that was extremely dry and salty. I also had warm rye bread. Not toasted. We were half done with our breakfast, and was given the bill, and boxes to go. Very rushed, crowded, and expensive. $58 for sub-par breakfast for 2. Sorry WOM, didn't cut it.
