I needed to have one of my new cartilage piercing changed out due to it coming out. A friend of mine recommend Kolo and I really liked her nose piercing done by them. I sent a chat message to see if they change out jewelry and was told that the change would be about $5 to $10 however, when I got there I waited a bit before being greeted by Adam. I wasn't feeling his energy at first until we had a few conversations regarding the jewelry and my piercings. I showed him the cartilage studs that I had gotten from another place and he advised it wasn't good quality and too big for my newly pierced cartilage, so I ended up buying two new ones. I can appreciate that and the quality is very good. My ears feel better already. GIGI is very welcoming, kind and sweet, I really loved her energy and for that, I will be back to have her change out my nose stud and maybe a few more ear piercings. The one ear was swollen, GIGI was very gentle and took her time to put in my new jewelry. The jewelry is a bit pricey but really worth it! I have my eye on a few pieces that are pretty unique. The only thing, when I got home to look at my jewelry one was bigger than the other. So a bit disappointed however still nice. (I got my birthstone, gem studs $33 each and no charge to put them in) Sometimes you gotta treat yourself! I am a new customer and will always ask for GIGI. I don't normally leave reviews, but this place was so fantastic I'm breaking the habit. My dermal started to wiggle out a day ago, and I thought I could just pop in and get it reset. I brought the baby,thinking it shouldn't be more than a 20min trip. No dice. Inman Park festival was just kicking off, and traffic was awful. No way I was going to find parking. It took forever to get back to Target to call an uber. All this to say, by the time I got to Kolo my baby's tiny world was ENDING. It was hot, he was hungry, and he wanted everyone to know. April was able to see me right away, and within 10 mins my dermal was out, and then reset. She was able to calmly inform me of my options while I worked to keep my nugget from going nuclear. By the time I was ready to leave, he was chill and looking around the room! Babies can be so stressful, and I'm grateful to April for being cool with him. Terrible, terrible customer service. After my home piercing shop in NC didn't have a hoop ring long enough for my 2-month old nose piercing, I visited this shop to buy a new one. I walked in and told the guy at the front desk the situation and all he said was "I don't recommend switching out nose hoops until 8 months old" then gave me a face as if I should leave due to his recommendation. I proceeded to tell him I wanted to buy the ring and left. The whole thing was very unsettling and I felt very unwelcome. Would never return. read more

this place was not upfront with its policy about not permitting companions to those being pierced. as a part of the neurodivergent community, hearing this policy for the first time minutes before a piercing was completely emotionally dysregulating. further, the team doesn't seem to be on the same page about this policy bc the person we talked to at the door mentioned a policy that neither of the previous phone calls had mentioned. read more

My piercing didn't work out, as it started to keloid, and I had to have it taken out by a professional because the back was on so tight. I came out to Atlanta to have an unforgettable birthday weekend. While in town, my friends and I have gone to numerous tattoo shops in the area asking for recommendations on where I should get my nose pierced. Every shop said "go to Kolo" so we did. I've never experienced anything like this and my friends with more experience in shops are quite baffled. I requested a simple diamond stud and was charged $200 for what I thought was the stud of my choice and the piercing itself. Afterwards, I realized the jewelry I requested was not what was placed in my nose. When i realized it and went back they informed me that I could not start out with the small prolonged diamond stud and instead placed a stud gold casing. This was not explained previously and I'm rather disappointed in the bait and switch that took place. I've spent some time discussing with others about this occurrence. A dear friend of mine bought the same jewelry I was requesting for $45. There's simply no way I should have been charged what I was and the shop had no desires to set things straight. Adam, who works the front counter, was rude, condescending, and dishonest. I won't be recommending this business to any of my friends. read more

I'm so happy to see they're still around. I got two piercings done by them and bought some great jewelry. I love Gigi, she gave me an intimate piercing, she was so sweet (it was my first piercing ever so I was scared) she just asked that I didn't hit her in the head haha! That was back in 2002. I went there to get my second lobes and a forward helix piercing. Although I have a needle phobia and so acted pretty anxious, trying to avoid the needle and all that at first, Mandolin was really superb in helping me calm down and get through it. this was my 3rd time at this location..all of the piercers are great but the bald thin guy with all of the piercings at the front desk is super snarky and acts like he cant be bothered if you ask him a question. GiGi pierced both of my nipples and 72 hours later they still feel *great* This was not my experience two decades ago when I had my left nipple pierced and it hurt for eight weeks solid. No joke. I had to remove it, the hole grew closed, then decided to have them both pierced again last week. She pierced my hood several years back and did amazing with that, too! I love this place. The only place I'll go for a piercing. Gigi is a doll!! She pierced my nipples back in 2000 and i felt very comfortable and they healed up great. I had to take them out for a mammogram recently and when I went to put them back in I couldn't get them in. I just got my naval pierced and could not be more impressed! Everything was extremely sterile and calm. Just went in today for the first time -- all I went in for was a new nose screw, but it was a great overall experience. I picked the kind of stud I wanted then they lead me into the back and actually MEASURED the width of my nostril and used a pair of jewelry pliers to bend it right there so it fit exactly! obviously they're known better for their really top-notch selection of other body mod adornments, but I was still pleasantly surprised by their huge supply of 20g studs in different metals, as most places only have 18... totally recommend them. read more
