I have seen so many reviews complaining about staff so I thought I'd give my two cents about it. In July of 2016, I went to Piercing Experience to get an industrial piercing. The staff was very friendly, but I was told that it was impossible to get the piercing I wanted with my ear. I was offered other piercings instead, but that's not what I drove two hours to get. Maybe a week later, I went to Kolo Piercing to get an industrial piercing. The man behind the desk that everyone complains about (shaved head, lots of facial piercings) held up a few bars to my ear to decide the length. It didn't take him long to pick a length, which worried me considering my ear has a ridge inside that changes the angle it would have to be pierced at and I was worried he didn't have enough time to notice. Other than that, he wasn't too much for conversation, but that's fine. He was polite and was doing his job. He gave me plenty of time alone to read the agreements instead of standing over me and pressuring me to just sign everything quickly. Now on to the piercing process. I was really nervous so I forgot the name of my piercer, sorry. It wasn't the woman or the man at the desk. He had kind of a chill hippy vibe to him if that makes any sense. He was very sweet and easy to talk to. When he was marking the holes, I requested the the front hole be moved as close to the ridge I mentioned earlier as possible. I was afraid I was going to have to get the piercing at an angle I didn't like. But this guy, he knew exactly what I wanted. He re-did the markings and MADE it happen. I am beyond happy with the placement of the piercing. Six months later, after some scarring troubles, the piercing is looking simply beautiful. Luckily, the jewelry the man at the desk picked out was the perfect size. Even with all the swelling gone, my jewelry fits so well that I don't even have to change it. On my way out, I asked him the size and length of the jewelry he picked out, and he told me with no issue. I'm not so sure how everyone got such bad vibes from him. He seems nice. He just makes everything short, sweet, and to the point. I'm beyond pleased with the results. I will definitely go back to Kolo Piercing the next time I need new jewelry or piercings. read more

This is the ONLY shop I will go to for my piercings. Gigi is absolutely AMAZING! The place is super clean and completely on top of sterilization practices and aftercare, in addition to having the BEST selection of jewelry and the most knowledgeable and patient staff! I even went in after zip lining when my helmet messed with one of my fresh piercings and my ear balloned up and Gigi was able to save it and had me back on track and still in-line for the normal stretching schedule! For those of you that have never held a job dealing with the general public get a clue! They are a BUSY shop because they are the BEST in the city! They may not have time to hold your hand and kiss your ass for 45 minutes, or take you back to pierce you the second you walk in the door, but they are INCREDIBLY professional and still offer amazing customer service when there are 10 customers that walk in the door at the same time. If you have to wait, that's because there are people who got there ahead of you! I mean come on it's in the middle of L5P with hundreds of people walking around daily. As with any body modification, be it tatts or piercings, YES YOU SHOULD RESEARCH things on your own, it's your body! They have an amazingly informative website, but still if you walk in clueless and want to take up 20-30 minutes of their time with questions you could find the answers to yourself, the people waiting for service will hate you if the place is slammed, even though the staff will do their best to take care of you professionally. Keep in mind - some of those waiting are selfish and bitching and complaining because they have to wait. Have a little paitience people( and keep your dirty hands off the glass!), be polite and tip them well, because for every ignorant person that comes and writes bad reviews, there are those of us that know the truth... Stunning decor, eclectic, earthy and warm vibe here. Professional and elegant. Kolo has been my go to for the last six years since arriving in Atlanta. Adam, who runs Kolo meticulously, is equally stunning to lay eyes upon. His style and well chosen jewelry let's the client know they are in good hands when making the often daunting decision to decorate their person. Adam is always gracious, and patiently accommodating to those "piercee" virgins. My housemate and I both have visited Kolo many times to have work done and Adam is always ready for questions and excruciatingly knowledgeable of each gem, jewel and piece of body art, elegantly displayed under polished glass. Depending on the clients desire, same day appointments are usually available. Calling ahead isn't a problem for the staff either. Gi Gi, top piercer is a dermal genius! warm, friendly and a knock out bed side manner!! Kudos to April too, and the rest of the team. Kolo is my ONLY (and most of my peeps) go to. The private rooms are extraordinarily clean/sterile but exude a truly relaxing energy to ease many a client's nerves. Also healing/aftercare tips are top of the line and never forgotten. Lastly, after care products are easily available and reasonably priced to speed the healing process. In my opinion, Kolo is by far the only place for the seasoned pierced seeking a unique twist and for the new and adventurous to begin their temple's unique decor. Enjoy! I have read a good few bad reviews on Kolo, and while everyone will have a different perception and expierence at any given place, I don't know WHAT they were all talking about. Kolo is the only place I have gone to for piercings, and the one time i got something done out of town, it was done poorly. Adam, Gigi. Chuck and LaMar are all really wonderful people. I think Adam rubs people the wrong way sometime, because he can be straight to business and doesn't always seem all that pleased. But I assure you he is a great guy with a lot of knowledge about piercings and jewelry. Chuck is a friend, and a personal favourite at the shop (besides GiGi-owner), so if you ever go, ask to speak with him! He is really fun and makes the process of any piercing comfortable. I took my (very nervous) 12 year old in for a simple ear piercing. Gigi was fantastic, as were the other folks behind the counter helping with stud selection and paperwork. Their instructions on after care were very clear and thorough. The best part however, was Gigi's patience with my daughter. She communicated with her during every step of the way, was kind and gentle and instructed her on breathing through the process, and didn't do anything until she felt my daughter would be alright with it. My daughter was surprised by how little discomfort she felt. We had a very good experience. The stud placement is perfect- no surprise there, because Gigi really took her time with getting it perfect. I would recommend it to any of my friends without hesitation. read more

I called several piercing places looking for someone to do my little girls ears (she is in second grade and was begging for a full year to have them done). After several places said they don't do children, I called my pediatrician (nope) and my friends dermatologist who did her children (also no). I really didn't want her to have to get them done with a gun- having had bad experiences in the past with my own ear piercings. Getting desperate, I talked to my hairdresser who suggested Kolo. This is really more of an adult Establishment & I don't think they are looking to lure children away from the mall, but this place did a great job. All I can really say is that I'm very appreciative of the relaxed, comfortable and professional atmosphere Adam and Gigi encourage at Kolo. As long as I'm in Atlanta, my piercings (because there will be more) will be done here. I encourage anyone to do their research before going in: have a really good idea of what you want, jewelry, etc. It helps when you go during the week or a slow period. Depending on what type of piercing it is, they can take a while, and Kolo has a number of customers that they want to attend to. Do your part, and Kolo will do their part. read more

I went in to get a nose piercing and I was very nervous. The gentleman at the front taking my information was not the most caring person and he didn't really go into detail about the jewelry and couldn't help me with placement which made me evenmore nervous. However, when I was taken to the back to get pierced I was introduced to GiGi, who did the piercings. She was AWESOME!!!!! All fear went away, she took her time and explained to me the difference in the jewelry, the placement, healing process, etc. GiGi totally ROCKS! I will definitely be back again. read more

This was my 1st piercing and I was getting a PA - so I did ALOT of reading prior to my going to KOLO. As soon as I met Gi-Gi I knew I was at the right place. My Partner and I went in and Gi-Gi could not have been more attentive or helpful. "Ask me any question" she said - and I did !! Kolo is great. They have a very relaxing atmosphere, and talk you through everything. I was worried at first about getting the labret piercing, but all together the piercing turned out right where I wanted it, and the most I felt was a pinch. They have a great selection of jewelry there, as well- I say go there if you're wanting a piercing; or even just a new set of earrings. Only complaint I have is the wait, but really; if a place has that good of a line, then that means it's a trusted place. read more

I recently (3 NOV 14) went into Kolo to get my nose pierced. It was my birthday and a last minute thing....I walked in just in time because they were about to close. The staff there is GREAT I didn't feel rushed to make a decision or anything. Gigi did my piercing and she was AMAZING very personable and informative. Kolo has been my best piercing experience yet. Gigi did a dermal underneath my eye. I was very nervous and she did an amazing job calming me down. She made the process as quick and painless as possible. Even during the healing process Gigi made herself available for questions. I have also ordered custom jewelry from Kolo. Surprised my daughter on Father's Day with ear piercing and only wanted it done by the the best and most professional so of course we went to Kolo. I have been visiting this place constantly for the past year and love it. The people who work there are very open minded and have extremely good attitudes towards their customers. They have helped me gauge me ears and told me how to do it safely so I wouldn't hurt myself. They have great advice and even a greater selection of exotic body jewelry. I purchased a pair of horn earrings from their website. They didn't have the ones I wanted but Adam was patient and super helpful in getting me a pair that suited me. It's so hard to find good customer service these days and Adam was top notch. Because of him I will be buying all my earrings from Kolo. Great product too, I absolutely love the jewelry. Absolutely LOVE this place. I got my daith done for my birthday almost a year ago now and it's by far the best piercing experience I've had. Loved my piercer, I believe his name was Chuck. Amazing selection of jewellery but would've liked to see more for daiths specifically. Piercing is doing great now and my piercer was great about me yelling a few select words. LOL. read more
