Food (5/5 stars): I recommend Koloa Mill Ice Cream & Coffee for a variety of sweets, especially their Dole Whip! They have pineapple, watermelon, and a swirl. Their pineapple tasted just like the one at Disneyland -- sweet, not too tart, and very refreshing. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: pretty reasonable, especially because it's the same price as Disneyland's * Wait Time: a bit of a wait on a summer weekday afternoon * Service: good * Parking: there are nearby parking lots and street parking * Ambiance: it's a nicely decorated shop

    Souvenirs!

We were walking around town after dinner, and decided to stop for shave ice. Got a small shave ice with snow cap (condense milk, $1.5) and dole whip (+$2.5), which made it a bit of an expensive treat. The portion is big, overflowing out of the cup, which made it quite messy to eat. The server was super nice. She told us the shave ice will be twice as big as the cup, so we ended up ordering the small rather than the large. This was plenty to share between 2 adults and a toddler. We sat on the back patios, which has a few tables, and enjoyed the cool evening breeze. Besides ice cream, the store also offers other souvenirs, like coffee beans, chocolate and pancake mix (we love these!)

10/15/23 Always a sure thing to stop by & get some sweet treats here at Koloa Mills, staff are always friendly, freshly made waffle cones are crispy & delicious, and the ice cream is too notch. Price point, just like everything else in Hawaii-a tad on the higher side but you can taste it in the quality of their products. Y'all have to try any flavor you like in a freshly made waffle cone- da best!

Located along the old Town Koloa Strip mall. Cute ice cream shop with treats, toys, and mugs. They also serve top quality Homelani Ice Cream. You can also purchase shaved ice, shakes and coffee. The waffle cones are freshly made.

    Amazing breakfast sandwich!

An English muffin topped with a fried egg, shredded cheese, crispy bacon and a maple sage drizzle equals the best breakfast sandwich ever! Seriously, it was so good that we went back 3 days in a row!! My husband enjoyed the coffee cake. They also serve yummy shaved ice. Our favorite was the Blue Hawaiian and Bahama Mama combo. I also tried the mint chip ice cream which was delicious. Highly recommend this place for a quick breakfast and dessert!

I'm clearly obsessed with the Aloha Cherry Truffle flavor. Believe they serve the same brand as Pinks in Hanalei as it tastes like perfection that I recall from the last few days up north. Super cute location. Koloa is more our vibe than Hanalei (which feels more like uber rich Californians). Koloa has more charm and has a great old town area to explore. Staff at Koloa Mill Ice Cream was sweet. They also have fresh baked goods. I picked my favorite aloha cherry truffle and pineapple.

Lovely little ice cream shop with hand made Kauai cups. Love the dole whip. Too cute!

The best breakfast burrito we have had! Hot favorite with our keiki's

We returned for the best breakfast burrito in town. Small cafe with coffee, shave ice, smoothies and limited breakfast items. We enjoyed them all. Reasonably priced.

If you're looking for Hawaii made Roselani ice cream - they have it here! 19 flavors: Chocolate macadamia nut, macadamia nut crunch, chocolate, cappuccino chip, macadamia nut, vanilla, strawberry banana Mac crunch, haupia, kona coffee, kona mud pie, aloha cherry truffle, caramel creme, chocolate chip ripple, pa'uwela sunrise, pineapple, mango & cream, coconut pineapple, ube. We ended up getting kona mud pie & 2 half scoops of strawberry + banana nut crunch. Both in waffle cones. As well as a cinnamon bun but haven't tried it yet. The ice creams were good and the waffle cones were okay but they weren't as fresh as others we've had before maybe because we came near closing time? The waffle cones also had a little hole in the bottom of both so highly recommend to get a napkin with your ice cream because both cones were dripping ice cream out the bottom in the car.

This was our post pizza shave ice and dessert stop. Cool little place in Old Koloa. Friendly staff made us feel very welcome! Lots of desserts and pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth. We ordered shave ice, local ice cream, cheesecake, and coffee cake. Everything was good and tasty. We'll be back!

They have signs on the ground floor telling you to look up. Too funny since i parked on the street and was looking for the place when a worker said it was upstairs. The best place to park is along Koloa Road and take the stairs up and to the left. When I entered the place I liked it right away. The restaurant was so clean and crisp looking. Something about it , was really neat looking. It was Asian ruined. I liked the music they were playing too. A little techno but that soon changed to country ugh. heheh. We were greeted right away and also seated the same. There were only a few tables taken up at this time since it was only half an hour since they had opened. The staff was really friendly and explained the specials and the favorite menu items. There was so much i wanted to try but there were only the wife and I. The wife got the pigs in a blanket. She said the eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and soft. Liked it I started with the special banana bread bites which were yummy. Then I got the pork hash and fried rice. It looked wonderful and tasted great. Loved it. I knew this was the place to go for a fantastic breakfast. We loved it so much we came here , I think 3 or 4 times during our stay. If we lived here they would call us by name. Next time we got the All about the Bennys. The wife got it with pork belly and it didn't disappoint. so good. I had to try the pancakes so I got one Lilikoi It was so yummy and flaky the wife didn't care for the roasted macadamia nuts but I liked them roasted. Had to get the Loco Moco your way. So I got the shaved prime rib. Wow so perfect. Loved the flavor and it sure hit the spot. Next day the wife got the two eggs with bacon and a crispy shredded potatoes which were amazing. Loved the crunchy potatoes. It was her favorite. I got the crispy pulled pork sandwich and it was just ok , it was kind of dry and I had to ask for bbq sauce to get it down. Won't get that again. And of course another Lilikoi pancake. Last trip the wife got the two eggs and bacon with the crispy potatoes. I got the Loco Moco with the beef patty this time. Of course another Lilikoi pancake. Till the next time we are back in Kauai. We will be back. Funny now the staff welcomed us back because we went there so many times. Love the food. A most stop at place.

However, m'lady got the spaghetti bolognese and I'm telling you: this is the best, most flavorful, freshest bolognese I've ever tasted. I only got 2 bites and had to play it cool because, well, I made the choice I did. I was effusive in my praise afterwards and everyone who worked there concurred and said I was just the latest to discover this incredible dish! My burger was just okay. It was advertised as a smash burger, but the patty didn't really have the crispy edges or texture I'd expect from one. On the other hand, my wife absolutely loved her fried chicken bowl and said it was packed with flavor. One of the highlights of our visit was the hospitality. We mentioned we were celebrating our honeymoon, and the owner (or who I believe was the owner) was incredibly friendly and even let us pick out a pastry to celebrate. That thoughtful gesture really made our visit memorable. Great service, good drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere made for an enjoyable experience overall.

Living Foods is a solid option in Kauai if you're looking for something casual, fresh, and…read morerelatively healthy without making a whole production out of a meal. I went for dinner first and had a positive experience. I ordered the fish of the day, which was fresh and tasty, although it came practically doing the backstroke in a very rich butter sauce. The fish was good enough to stand on its own, so drowning it in butter felt unnecessary. We got the lilikoi cheesecake for dessert and enjoyed it, but they were way too stingy with the lilikoi sauce. Come on, Living Foods, lilikoi sauce is not a controlled substance. Pour a little more on there. The lilikoi cheesecake at Bar Acuda was 10x better. I went back the next day for brunch and had a very different experience. I ordered the loco moco, which the menu explicitly said came with kimchi fried rice. What arrived was plain white rice. When I pointed out that the menu said kimchi fried rice, they brought me a side of kimchi. That honestly annoyed me. Kimchi fried rice is an actual dish. You don't get to advertise it and then serve plain white rice with kimchi on the side like you've fulfilled the assignment. That's like advertising blueberry pancakes, serving plain pancakes with a bowl of blueberries, and calling it close enough. Just do us all a solid and take the kimchi fried rice off the menu. The loco moco itself was also so overcooked and rubbery that chewing it became the main brunch activity. My boyfriend had much better luck with the chilaquiles, which he enjoyed, so brunch wasn't a total loss. I was also surprised by how few vegetables are actually on the menu. For a place centered around fresh, natural, health-conscious food, I expected more appearances from the plant kingdom. Overall, Living Foods gets points for being casual, accessible, and offering fresh options, but the execution is inconsistent.
