Girlfriend and I were pretty hopeful for this place but it was one of the bigger letdowns from our trip. We opted for the Kahlua Pulled Pork Sandwich, and it was mediocre at best. The sammich just didn't pack the level of flavor that one would expect. It came with a side of fries, which were actually not bad and pretty tasty. They were a little on the oily side but honestly, I wasn't even mad at that since I needed some flavor to come from somewhere. Food aside, the vibe of this place was definitely off. The person taking our order did not seem the be the friendliest person and came off rather stand-offish. Lastly, buyers beware. If you let it be known that you will be splitting a food item, they will charge you an additional $2.50. Typically, when places do this, it comes with a larger portion for each split of the dish, but this was not the case for us. They took the normal portion, charged as the additional fee, and have us no extra food. 2/5 and would not come back. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. My family and I were waiting in line to order and my grandpa (who got a knee replacement) two weeks ago wanted to sit down. The workers proceeded to yell at him that he wasn't able to sit down until he ordered - my brother made the workers aware that he had just gotten a knee replacement and the workers proceeded said "doesn't matter, he can't sit down until he has a ticket. there's all these people waiting in line." not one sentence was said or worded kindly. not sure who raised that worker to think it was acceptable to treat an elderly person like that, especially one who just had a major surgery and is unable to stand for long periods of time. mind you, our whole finally was waiting in line like everyone else. horrible establishment and the absolute rudest workers I've ever encountered. read more

Very few breakfast places open on Sunday. Thank goodness this was a good one. Parking can be extremely challenging so be prepared to park on the road. Making sure you order food before you grab a table since people who already ordered are likely to be waiting for a space to open up. Service is good but you can tell they don't want you hanging around talking so enjoy but make it snappy. read more

I never leave reviews, but this place absolutely deserves one. I've been in Hawaii for a week, and this was easily the best food I've had the entire trip. It was so good that I came back the very next day. The Eggs Benedict is hands down the best I've ever had, and the lattes and fresh coconut were amazing too. Everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. The staff made the experience even better. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, especially the guy with the long curly hair. He was incredibly kind, had a great sense of humor, and made us feel right at home. If you're anywhere near Kalaheo, do yourself a favor and stop here. I can't recommend this place enough. Customers place their orders and find their own seating. Wait staff delivered your order. The Green Smoothie was so deliciously refreshing!! Wanted more. Could not taste the flavor of Macadamia in the coffee but it was still a good brew. Strong. Kalaheo had one of the best Moco Loco compared to the other Hawaiian Islands. Patty and gravy well seasoned. Best brown rice as not overcooked, tender, and fluffy. Kahili Breakfast was delicious with plenty of Portuguese sausage. Very tasty!! RIP OFF!! This place charged us $2.50 to split our meal, meaning cut in half and put on separate plates. That is absolutely insane! We didn't need that if it was going to be an extra charge. Unfortunately, I didn't notice until I was handed my receipt because THEY DON'T TELL YOU. The guy who took our order was rude and wouldn't reverse the charge. My guy and I split the Kahlua Pulled Port Sammich. It was bland and disappointing. Fries had some flavor, but they were dripping oil. They definitely cheated us on the amount of fries we got as well because looking at other people's plates, they got way more than we did. AVOID!! read more

This is our favorite breakfast spot on the island! The food is fresh and delicious, and the coffee is amazing! The staff is always helpful and patient. The place itself is not far from Kōloa and Poipu, where we usually stay, and has a great casual but authentic feel to it. It just gets very busy the later you wait for breakfast, so I recommend going a bit early. (Parking is also somewhat limited). Mahalo to Kalaheo Cafe for always making our trip worth it! read more

I wasn't a huge fan of this place like I wanted to be. The place was super busy, inside and outside seating and the staff was friendly which is always a plus but the food didn't do it for me. It was on the pricier side with mediocre tasting food. The coffees were 4.5/5 so I'll give it to them there. The loco moco was a 3.5/5 but the breakfast platter was a 3/5. If you have young children, I wouldn't recommend this spot. The line was long, and despite there being plenty of open tables, we were not allowed to sit down until we had ordered and received a table number. While my husband was waiting in line to order, I walked toward an empty table with our children and was immediately told we couldn't sit there yet. Later, another employee came looking for me to ask for our table number. With small children, it's much safer and easier to have them seated while one parent waits in line rather than standing around in a crowded restaurant. The policy felt unnecessarily rigid, and the way it was enforced came across as unwelcoming. I've never had a restaurant make such an issue out of sitting at an empty table while actively waiting to order food. Unfortunately, the food itself was just okay, so the overall experience was disappointing. read more

A small gem worth going back to when we arrived too late on the first try, we enjoyed our lunch in the deck very much (despite traffic noise). I had the lunch special of Fresh Grilled Ahi on a buttered flatbread with melted shredded cheese, black bean corn salsa, chipotle aioli, lettuce and tomato. For my side I chose plain fries. A perfect place to fuel up on the way to Waimea Canyon!!! We thought we ate way too much but turns out the hike would take every bit of our energy. My husband had the Kahili breakfast and I ordered the loco moco, both paired with griddle corn muffins. If I were southern I'd be going "My word!" Both plates contained heaping portions of deliciousness. The corn muffin was halved and grilled, accentuating out the toasty corn flavor. His potatoes were topped with caramelized onions. My loco moco had the smoothest gravy; no soy sauce needed. Service was fast and friendly. Our empty plates were bused immediately. We also loved the relaxed family friendly ambiance. Came here for a random weekday breakfast and as expected, there was a line and parking is hard to come by. Once you get inside, the line did move fairly quickly as far as taking orders then it's another game trying to find a table. Luckily, there are also tables on the lanai if you want to enjoy your meal outside. The menu is absolutely incredible with selections for just about anybody as well as full coffee bar and then you'll get surprised you get closer to the cashier to notice the shelves and display cases of all the fresh pastries.
