This was so much fun! This was one thing on Kauai my finance and I were really on the fence about doing, but we're SO glad we did it. Our guides were fun and encouraged everyone to try different harness positions to experience the ziplines in exciting ways. The views were amazing! Even while zipping along quickly, we go to enjoy the scenery. There is a bit of hiking/walk up steep stairs but it's not for long periods so I think it would be doable for more fitness levels. The one complaint I have is that once you leave the base, there are no bathrooms available until you get back. I used the bathroom before we left but still had to go mid-tour and had to hold it for hours. read more

We had a really great time with the Koloa Zipline Crew. Our guides (Jessica & Chance) were knowledgeable, well spoken, considerate of everyone, and fun to spend over 3 hours together with. Group sizes seem to be capped at a maximum of 12 and we had a full group, but with staggered tour times, our wait times were reasonable. You will need to arrive 30 minutes before your tour to check-in, and this occurs at the main offices, which is about a 5 minute drive from the tour starting point, so keep that in mind. We chose Koloa Zipline over the other options based on the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook (13th edition.), and believe the books recommendation was spot-on. There are 8 zip lines, and about a mile of hiking throughout the tour, with some fairly steep up hill climbs, but totally manageable. The tour progresses nicely, starting with a fairly short zip (about 250 ft) , culminating with the longest run of the 8 (about a half mile). The tour starts near the oldest Sugar Mill on the island, and traverses around a water reservoir, while offering beautiful lush forest as well as expansive ocean views. All in all, if this is your first time zip lining or you are a seasoned veteran, Koloa Zipline offers a very nice and fun experience. read more

This was a great activity to get out and see the area around Waita Reservoir from a unique viewpoint! The booking process on-line or over the phone was easy. You do have to call if it's a same day or maybe next day reservation. You arrive to the check-in location to sign waivers, then drive down the road to get geared up, meet your guides, and have a quick lesson on zip-lining. Then a truck takes the group to the 1st platform. There are some steep ramps (about 40 degrees) to the top of some platforms, and a little bit of hiking. If your knees are ok, you should be fine, although I suspect the overall experience would be less enjoyable if it's raining and muddy. Our guides James and Sawyer were awesome, friendly, and supportive. They say they are the only company on the island where you can try flying (Superman style) and upside down, as well as the usual sitting up position, so why not try them all! ;) There are 8 lines, and it took a little less than the advertised 3.5 hours. This depends on the speed/size of your group. It felt very relaxed, and you didn't feel rushed to jump off the platform or hurry up the hikes. They also provided drinks and a snack along the way, so you don't need to worry about bringing these things. Everyone had a great time--I recommend! read more

Third time zip lining and Koloa is the best! Unforgettable adventure. The distance on the final run is just short of a minute. Look around and enjoy! T and Junior ("J") are awesome guides. Careful, knowledgeable, witty and fun! TIPS: May not be suitable for people who struggle with stairs and up hill hiking in the hot, humid climate. A couple of the climbs between the platforms require some strength. They provide small water bottles twice along the 8 zip line platforms. Grab an extra at the first stop or bring a bottle of your own that you can safely secure while zipping across the stunning trails. Take your camera if you can secure it in a deep pocket (e.g. leggings) or very small cross body pack. They have a locker at the starting point for all other items. read more

This zip lining experience was out of this world! The views were absolutely incredible! Our guides Austin and Kaylee were so sweet and they truly made the experience something we'll never forget. LIke everyone else we had an amazing time with our guides Eden and Maka (?). I am scared of heights, I mean for real. I once had to get off of a large Ferris Wheel, so I was concerned about doing these zip lines. But once we got going, I just had a blast. Outdone by my two kids and my wife who all tried upside down and Superman zips, I just cruised my way on each line. The last one is realllllllllllllyyyyyyyy looooooooonnnnng at over half a mile. It took over 90 seconds to get from the start to the end, and it was very high but a real rush. I overcame my fear of heights for this afternoon, and will remember the day fondly. read more

Our experience was 3.5 hours from check in to end, precisely what was advertised. Began on time too. The tour included 8 zip lines including several long and fast lines. The scenery is breathtaking. Lush green forest overlooking a valley and resevoir. As a first time zip liner, the slow progression into longer lines helped break the tension and fear. A little bit of a bumpy ride out to the lines but all part of the experience. You have the option to go upside or fly like Superman but I chose the sitting method and just enjoyed the views and ride. Hands down what made our time doing this enjoyable and fun and funny was our two tour guides Junior and Taylen. They were so friendly and accommodating and helpful. Honestly if you do this tour ask for THEM!!! I am sure all their guides are nice but these two young men were fantastic and think it will make a big difference in your experience. I've been ziplining a few times around the world and this is the only place where I have been able to go upside down or superman. It's so convenient. It's only a few miles from anywhere in Poipu/Koloa. There are 8 lines and one is half a mile long. . Cayman, Rafi, and Page were terrific. Kayman seemed to be the lead guide. Not only is he super enthusiastic and encouraging and fun, he gauges your abilities and let's you go faster if he thinks you're capable. He also gages the weather, direction and strength of wind, the specific line, rider's skill, and let my lighter kids go solo safely whenever possible. You get nice views of the lush jungles, water reservoir, and the ocean. All the kids said this was their favorite thing all trip. read more

They make you fell really safe and give you options as to how you want to zipline, from classic cruising (legs out and hands on the bars) or super man, or upside down, they will clip you in securely and catch you as you land.
