No repairs were done, no meaningful diagnosis was provided, yet I was billed $280.35 for "one hour of service." Moreover, this is something they could have easily asked me to check prior to coming over. At no point before the visit was I informed of a mandatory one-hour minimum charge. Only after the technician declined to perform the job was I handed paperwork with that language buried above the signature line. This is a classic bait-and-switch, no disclosure up front, refusal to provide the service, and then a hefty bill.

He came in ready to assess the situation with barely 12 hours notice (emergency request from us), calmly took control of the situation by politely asking key questions and getting the info he needed to make sure he could take care of it later in the day (after he returned from his regularly scheduled client for that morning). When he came back, he got to work on the sink, answering any questions I had explaining the infrastructure etc helping me understand what was going on. Super friendly, engaging, and knowledeable. Ask for him next time, you'll be happy.

The website states he's a "Licensed Master Plumber since 1978 and the founder and original owner of Sessa Plumbing & Heating, (NO LONGER AFFILIATED)" Mystery solved. There are 2 separate entities- 1) Sessa Plumbing and 2) Robert Sessa Plumbing. FYI - Robert Sessa Plumbing has a You Tube channel that's pretty good - if you're interested in learning about plumbing suggest checking out some of his videos. It's a good idea to have some basic knowledge on this topic - especially when you're doing maintenance & repairs - helps to make better decisions.

Another Plummer from Angie's list was called in for the repair that HSM failed to complete and this second plumber exhibited such integrity he showed up and quickly accessed the minor clog problem by removing a washcloth that was clogging the drain under the shower area for a reasonable price of $250. He suggested a few diagnostic actions and when we were still getting the 'drip' he came and pinpointed the issue. He cut a 6" square hole in EXACTLY the right spot and there it was. An ancient pipe had breached. Anyone else would have torn open the whole wall. My husband and I were SO pleased with Robert Sessa's work.
