The staff members who waited on us were incredibly polite and friendly, assuring me it was no big deal when I fumbled the soy sauce. For around $50 we enjoyed three rolls, plenty for two people: tempura shrimp, spicy crunchy tuna, and sushi sandwich. The rolls were fresh with quality shrimp, seafood, and vegetables. Each roll had an element of texture and complex flavors with the various sauces or ingredients used. They were each presented uniquely and had 10 pieces per roll. The sushi sandwich, a unique four piece item, was incredibly filling with lots of rice, but still enough flavor from the tempura salmon and avocado. A little messy, but fun! This restaurant has gone down hill. We ordered shrimp dumplings steamed and Thai spring rolls as starters but never received them. Instead our main course arrived first when we questioned where the starters were the server laugh and then order them as our main dish sat cold. Our main course of Penang chicken curry had only a few small pieces of chicken and lots of curry broth with very few vegetables. Don't order it. There was a surcharge for chicken too but hard to find any. Spicy crunchy tuna was mostly rice with very little tuna filling. Our bill came to $60 and change (take out) According to my Bank, I was actually charged $110. The charge came up at the Bank as mere "sushi."-- quite sketchy. I have to go to my Bank to file a special form for fraud. The internet indicated that the next step was to contact the non-emergency Police and file a report, but they hung up on me. I called back and they then advised me to go to the restaurant and ask for a refund. I don't want to talk to someone who just ripped me off. The police said if I wanted to I could go to court for $50, quite an absurd suggestion. I can see why some restaurants do this-- there's obviously no legal accountability. I have not gone to the Bank yet so I don't know how it will end. I felt writing this review would be the best penalty I could conjure. read more

I'm not sure where to start. I'm not sure I've ever ordered a meal, then walked out of a restaurant before it arrived at my table before. But I did last night (12/28) at Komoon on Pine Ridge. I've been there multiple times for both carry out and dining in, and usually had a good experience. Yesterday my wife and I arrived at 8 PM. Few people in the place, but not too busy. It took awhile for someone to come over and take our order. We ordered a sushi roll (her) and a grilled Peruvian fish dish (me), and an order of spring rolls to start. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Our waitress ignored us. We never got our spring rolls. Finally after like 30 minutes in frustration my wife called the waitress over and asked, "Is there a problem?". She explains in broken English that my fish dish was done, but we were waiting on the sushi to be completed. Well, that isn't ideal since my hot meal is now getting cold while they finish hers. But no matter, we shrugged it off and continued to wait. And wait. And wait. She never brought our spring rolls (we asked for those again when we called her over the first time). No apologies, no "these spring rolls are on us", no "have a drink on us". In the meantime, at least one Uber Eats driver stormed out of the place after waiting for an eternity for his order. We finally announced to her that we wouldn't wait any longer, and just picked up and left. We must have wasted 45 minutes there and never got a single bite to eat. I hope this was a one-night thing with Komoon, because in the past the food has been good and the service much better. But it's going to take an act of faith for me to go back. Hidden in a nondescript strip center neither the restaurants name nor appearance gives a hint of the treasures awaiting you when you walk in the door. The service was really good. The menu was eclectic. The food was delightful. I put together s nice mean by choosing three appetizers . If I hadn't eaten alone, a couple more additions would have been great. Wow! Very impressive! Been going to The other Komoon in Naples for few years now. Last night was our first time here. This place is actually tucked interior in a almost sleepy strip mall. We did have the tuna roll and shrimp tempura. Both were done well and very standard but good sushi. The Tom Kha with chicken was very delicious. I would highly recommend. The noodle dish was a little under seasoned but a little soy sauce brought it to life. It did seem to be a local favorite and I can see why. I would be interested To try the Peruvian menu next time.
