The food is always very delicious to the point where I have become hesitant to try new sushi restaurants in my area. Not only is the food something I look forward to, but the service is great. After waiting 9 months to east sushi again, my husband, I and our newborn son sought this place out due to all the other good reviews, to eat some delicious sushi! The atmosphere was calming, welcoming and downright cozy. We were greeted and sat right away. We quickly ordered our food and did not wait very long for it to arrive. We could see the sushi chef prepare our food from where we sat, which was nice. Our rolls were made fresh and tasted even better than we remembered. The food quality and taste was incredible. Well considering I've been a pretty good customer I don't eat here weekly but i definitely am someone that when I come in they know me and I order the same thing Everytime a salmon roll a spicy tuna roll and a sashimi yellow tail. As soon as I get home mind you I live 10 mins away put in fridge as soon as I get home as it already seemed warm when they handed it to me. Mind you I also use to be a sushi chef and Fish definitely should be at a very cold temperature so not sure why any of the fish was warm as I felt it as soon as I got in my vehicle. I walked my dog while I let it try to get cold probably a good 95 mins went by. I came outside to eat it and as I am eating it I'm like what is that god awful taste and I'm questioning something I'm not going to and risk food poisoning. The yellow tail I ate and both 2 pieces tasted terrible. I ate the first one and I questioned it...then I was like is this just me or is this really tasting like this. I ate the second and I'm like oh it's definitely this. Then as I'm eating the spicy tuna roll that was so spicy I could barely eat it mind you also it was my first and only time eating today so yeah I was hungry. Not hungry enough to have food poisoning so when I stopped eating it for a minute I had this horrible left over taste in my mouth.Hence the spit out half chewed one where my gut is telling me stop eating it before you get very sick and next thing I know I am in the bathroom from this. I called the restaurant cause I've never had a bad order here but maybe because of how things are getting so expensive they are cutting corners. I definitely can recognize the food is not being stored at the proper temperatures and I'm calling the health department tomorrow. Sushi, seafood, shellfish, is not a joke if you get sick. It's not something you overcharge people for and them think no one will notice food is not being properly stored. I am a little surprised but then again I'm really not as I already gave them a couple chances and the prices for sushi in a restaurant that has zero ambience and there is nothing about why this is $40 sushi. I have no issues paying for food and especially good food. I do however have an issue with something like this when they think someone won't notice. It's just not right. I'm also someone to rarely write reviews but not only is the only meal I've attempted to eat today ruined but so it my now appetite I was waiting all day for and now I am once again reminded why I personally cook at my house. The restaurant is small and has 19 seats. They were playing American pop and it feels like a grab and go place instead of a restaurant. We were greeted upon entry and the waitress gave us the menu without a smile on her face. The price is on the higher end, so we ordered a spicy chicken teriyaki for $15.75 and a magu ham roll for $18.25. The price is comparable to the Thai place in the same plaza, but that place has a huge serving size. Despite being empty without us, the food took more than 10 minutes.. a bit slow, but it's decent. The fish in the roll was fresh and the spicy teriyaki was decent. It's not the siracha type of spicy, but more subtle. A good thing is that they are not stingy about sauce, so I can see why everyone likes this place. I'm fine either way, so it was a bit too saucy for me (both the salad and the teriyaki bowl). I got the salmon bento and side of avocado rolls. The sweet, nutty, flavorful dressing of the salad was so addictive and refreshing! It's not the overdone same sesame dressing, whatever it is, I wish they sold it by the gallon. The miso soup was classic, not overly salty either. The silken tofu was delicious as well! The gyoza had a cabbage pork filling and was very crispy. Not a huge fan of the spicy tuna roll, perhaps due to the minced paste like texture, I think that's just my personal preference rather than a quality issue. The California roll was done well, nicely rolled too! This place offers one of the better nigiri's I've had in Washington. Super buttery, huge, and smooth. read more

What a pleasant surprise! After driving by it for months, my adult son and I walked to Kmorebi for dinner on a recent cold night to try it out. From the moment we opened the door it felt warm and welcoming. Not only was the food amazing, it was beautiful to look at. The decor was perfect and notably clean throughout. It was quiet (very few in-house diners) but looked like they were doing a good take-out service. The sushi chef stayed busy at the counter and the server was attentive and gracious. My husband wanted to try their rolls here and they were still doing their grand opening promotion so we decided to give it a try. We got the Alaska roll and the shrimp tempura roll. I definitely like the shrimp tempura roll more the Alaska roll. The Alaska roll seaweed was chewy, the fish skin was also chewy and it was wrapped pretty loosely so it 2 of the pieces fell apart. This place is really a hidden gem and I'm surprised that I didn't even know about it before - I almost don't want to review this in case it gets more popular and makes it even harder to get a table in this small space! The sushi rolls were beautifully presented and delicious - highly recommend the Skylar roll if you're a seared salmon fan like I am, and the Red Dragon roll if you love spicy tuna. Service was excellent and the restaurant was immaculately clean. At lunchtime there's even a BOGO buy one get one 50% special for rolls and you can even earn loyalty points on repeat visits. This is our new favorite sushi spot on the Eastside and we'll be back soon! read more

I know they're in their grand opening so I waited until a couple other people reviewed. I have to say this is the most disappointing sushi I've ever had--there was no flavor whatsoever to the fish or the rice. You can see from the photo the fish is minced looking and the avocado is just a sliver. I NEVER use soy sauce because the fish and rice usually have enough natural salt and flavor I don't need it...I used it here. The prices here are even more expensive than my favorite sushi place, I think more than any place I've been to yet! I went with my friend and she said she's had better sushi at Safeway. The service was fast to get our food out but we waited and ended up calling out after not seeing anyone out front for 10 min so we could make it back to class on time. I tried to give a new place a chance and maybe this was all due to too many new factors, but usually opening is your best effort. read more

A small sushi restaurant in the plaza l with the Mercury's Coffee drive-through. Parking is ample in the lot, but is often busy due to the variety of businesses and restaurants in the plaza. Atmosphere 4 out of 5: The decor was clean, classy, and modern. Tables and chairs were clean and comfortable. The lighting is relatively low, but in an endearing way. Service 2 out of 5: The waitress was extremely nice and attentive in shows us to our table, bringing cutlery and waters, and taking our orders. Once you finish eating, you walk up to the counter to pay. While the actual service was great, unfortunately, only we were told immediately after we ordered that there was a 45-minute wait for our food due to a large online order that just came in. It was confusing to us why the online order pickup couldn't just be extended and instead, the people eating in the restaurant would need to wait. The restaurant wasn't full at the time, only about two tables including ours were seated. It unfortunately also ended up actually taking the full 45 minutes for our food to arrive, though the staff did give us a small edamame side on the house for the wait halfway through. Food 3.5 out of 5: The food and sushi were above average, but not amazing. Some of the rolls also were heavy on sauce and lacking rice for balance and others needed a bit more sauce or flavor. The bento box set was extremely good value, though. Value 2 out of 5: Price is definitely high for quantity. From the optimistic perspective, the higher price point isn't egregious in Kirkland, and the quality is higher than a conveyer-belt sushi place, but from a practical perspective, there are better choices available for both quantity and quality. I paid over $40 after tax and tip and wasn't really full when leaving. All-in-all, I feel this place had potential, but it didn't show in various aspects of our visit. Kamakura nearby will remain our go-to recommendation. read more

The dragon roll is good and held up its shape. But the food took awhile to arrive. The chicken teriyaki was also good. The place wasn't packed so it's easy to eat here without having to wait. I think they were very short staff, despite that the server was attentive. I also asked for tea and they have a complimentary green tea. The place ambiance has a low light ambiance. It is a small restaurant but good food at least. The location had parking too so at least have to worry about that. Overall experience is awesome! read more

Today I ordered my lunch through LunchDrop.com for Komorebi Sushi and Rolls. I was kinda disappointed dues to the tasting and also did not comes with sauce for the teriyaki chicken bowl and goyza which should have included in this order. Them chicken were too dry and chewy. The miso soup was ok. Kinda different from other Japanese restaurants. For what it is worth it was ok to eat. Not dues to the cost which for me is kinda expensive for what you get. On my second visit, the $31 salmon plate turned out to be one of the most rubbery, under-flavored sushi I've ever had. One of the seared salmon nigiri tasted like it was two days old.
