I typically get all my clothes tailored in Garden Grove. I wanted to give this place a shot because they also install Million Dollar Collars. I met Chris, and he was really nice and he introduced me to Nancy, who was going to tailor my clothes and install my Million Dollar Collars. All the staff are awesome by the way, I just don't remember their names. She got everything done in 2 days and I was blown away--Everything was done right and the price was right! Clothes weren't ready on date specified and then when I went back on the new date they said it would be ready they said it still wasn't ready. Told them I needed the item back as we needed it the next morning. They told me I would have to come back as they didn't know where it was. Told them I wasn't leaving without it. After about 10 minutes they finally found it. Claimed it was cleaned and but not pressed. Was still charged for the service despite it not being completed. I will not be returning. Going back to a smaller dry cleaners where they value my business. read more

This is easily one of the most reliable places for alterations I've found. Nancy, the lady at alterations, is a genius. She's done impeccable work on many of my clothing items. Some custom alterations have required a bit of creativity and Nancy has never disappointed me. As for the actual dry cleaning service, it's pretty comparable to other cleaners in the area. The staff, though, is kind and helpful. If there are ever mistakes made (which do happen every now and then) they will do their best to fix the situation and make you as comfortable as possible with the solution. read more

The staff here greeted me immediately, processed my clothing and informed me of the earliest pick up day/time. Quick and straight to the point. I picked up my clothes a couple of days ago. I had given them, a pair of slacks, a blazer, a few tops and some button-up shirts. They did a remarkable job pressing each item. To my delight and surprise, they managed to remove white deodorant stains from one of my tops. That blew my mind. I never even pointed this out when I dropped off my dry cleaning. Alexa was awesome! Brought in my wedding dress that was already previous altered, I just needed it cleaned before my big day. The cleaning process caused some fuzzies that Alexa was able to cut off and trim. Alexa was able to have her seamstress sew up any tears in the delicate lace. When I came to pick up my dress, I noticed there were still tears in some of the lace, Alexa sewed them right up! And! She even gave me some clear sewing thread in case there are any mishaps on the day of. Only negative thing is they are kind of pricey $$$, but Alexa did offer me a deal to give me the keepsake box for free when I come back to clean the dress after the wedding. read more

Dry cleaned a full size white comforter and it was about $45. They finished cleaning it within a couple days and gave me a comforter bag to take it home in. The results were a clean comforter with no damages and was not wrinkled at all. read more

I have been a long time customer of Kona Cleaners. They are just across the street from me in the city of Orange. As soon as I got an email from them saying they would take 15% off of all my dress shirts I took every one of my dress shirts in to have clean. When I picked them up I asked for the 15 Percent discount and they said "you have to have a coupon". This will be the last time I take any of my clothes to Kona Cleaners I cannot believe after being a customer for so long and I have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars .....they need a coupon...really? If the management wants to contact me and give me the discount that I am owed, I will restate this review, if I don't get a response i'm off to another cleaner. read more

The cleaning itself was... fine. Just ok. Nothing amazing, but nothing was ruined. But the price?? Wow. I don't know how ANYONE can justify the costs, here. I had two dresses cleaned & a coat cleaned - one dress was a simple nylon or poly shirtwaist style dress - totally average in every way. $40 to clean. The simple wool blend coat? $60. Nothing special about it - no special trims or details. Why? The other was a vintage polyester double knit which, for some unknown reason, was SIXTY DOLLARS to clean. Poly double knit is virtually indestructible - it probably could have been tossed in the washer I think I originally purchased these items for about $60 each - why on earth is anyone spending literally 4-8 times the price of other cleaners?? Especially when they're not doing any better work?? I seriously just don't get it. I mean - if all your stuff is designer items worth $$$-$$$$ kind of money... I guess I can see that being more worthwhile if the cleaning work was above & beyond? But an average dress with no stains & nothing special should NOT cost $40-60 to clean. Just... no. read more

This location BUTCHERED the alteration of my skirt. This is not what I said AT ALL! Beyond upset and disgusted at how a simple request to remove the bottom piece of solid fabric could have been so mistaken! Please o a seamstress that speaks English. I am asking for a refund of $18 for the cost for you to do this, as well as a check for the cost of this $60 skirt which I can no longer even wear to work because the lace portion is up on my fucking thigh. Went here months ago for the first time and they lost my favorite shirt. They were able to check the footage to make sure I wasn't lying about it. Said they would call the person they gave my shirt to and get it back. I called 3 more times and each time they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. The last time I threatened to write a bad review and I was assured that the manager would call me as soon as we got off the phone. No one called me. I'm out a $60 shirt that I paid to have clean. I was seeking out someone who could repair a strap on a backpack that my Beautiful Loving Golden Retriever, Twinkie decided chew on for a little snack last night (bad dog!). Very much a weird request... When I walked into Kona Cleaners, I was pleasantly greeted by the owner and her assistant. I explained my story of woe and after a good laugh, she snatched the backpack (OK maybe not snatched), sized up the problem and went to work.....60 seconds later, Twinkie and I are ready for the trail. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THIS PLACE IS A DISASTER. YOUR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS DRY CLEANERS DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS NOT THIS PLACE. Came here with a simple request to have a suit, two shirts cleaned, and one zipper fixed. I then asked if they would be able to deliver the items by Monday. I was assured by their operations manager, Josh that he will set me up that day which was a Friday and send me a text that day confirming that I was set up. I wanted my clothes cleaned before Tuesday as I had a shooting event. I specifically told their representative that I can pick my clothes up on Saturday if they wouldn't be able to deliver by Monday. He said don't worry "we will be able to deliver by 3 PM on Monday". Fast forward to Monday 3 PM, I started to get worried that they wouldn't deliver my clothes as I didn't receive a message from Josh that I was set up. I called them and the representative told me that I wasn't set up and I have to come pick up the items at the orange location. OKAY, I said to myself. I drove like 7 miles to get my items. When I arrived, the representative took five minutes to search for my items and told me that my items weren't there and that I have to call Josh. I then called Josh to ask where the HELL are my clothes and the answer was that he didn't know and that he would find out and let me know. Stay put he said while he can find out. I stood there for like 1 hour with phone calls back and forth until he said "we weren't able to find your clothes, I will be able to do so tomorrow." I had a deadline and was so pissed off so I had to buy new clothes. I spent that night driving from one department store to the other to find appropriate clothes for my shooting. Thanks to KONA CLEANERS, I wasted the night before an important event searching for clothes. Until that point, though I was pissed off, I didn't want to post a bad review because mistakes happen everywhere but WAIT, THERE IS MORE. Update: I spoke to Diana and apparently they had no idea that delivery.com was taking orders for them. In other words my order was through delivery.com (the link on the yelp page) and they couldn't see my order on their system. Which I understand, maybe this is new for them. But they did offer to honor the original order and make the extra effort to fix the situation, so I am happy. Just a little suggestion to anyone who wants to schedule a delivery online, go to their website directly instead of using the yelp link. You'll save yourself alot of time and frustration. I assume that they will bill me later for the dry cleaning fee. They even sent me a reminder text the day of the pickup so I made sure to leave my bag of clothes outside my front door. The message said pickup between 8am and 5pm. I had plans that day so I left the house around 12 and got home at 7. I expected that they would have picked up my clothes by then, but no... The bag was still exactly as I left it. So I called them, by that time they were closed so I left a message. I also sent them a message on yelp. But no response from them as of today. So I called again but it goes straight to voice mail, and sent them another message on yelp. Crickets. I'm so happy with the attention and responsiveness of Kona. My daughter bought a homecoming dress the night before the dance and the waist of the skirt needed to be taken in. I called from the mall after the purchase and was assured that they could get it done same day on the next day. I called the next morning and they remembered me and said yes come in. I dropped off my favorite dress at the Yorba Linda location and when we got it back it looked like it hadn't even been touched. So why the 5-star review? When I took it to the Orange location, they cleaned it at no charge and even got out a Sharpie stain that I thought was permanent. And they did it with a smile. I really wanted to like this place because its so conveniently located by my work. I have been looking for a cleaners that doesn't take me to the cleaners but this is NOT it. I had 11 items and was charged almost $70 bucks. I'm a total bargain shopper and I don't think I spent that much purchasing the items. So financially, they are not for me. ** Maybe skim out on the expensive hangers and discount the service??!! Just a reasonable idea. Service - Well I was super excited to hear the guy say they had same day service and I could come back at 5pm. I stayed at work later so I decided I'd pick it up in the morning. 24 hours later I came by and they told me the clothes were not ready yet. WHAT? No bueno!!! I came back in the afternoon and they were ready but they had a hard time finding my items which was a suspense I can do without. I will not be coming back here!! read more

In April 2023 a bundle of garments including a down jacket was sent to Kona Cleaners in Orange via their pickup service. When delivered back, multiple items were missing. A call back to the store produced 2 of the 3 items missing. One item, the down jacket, was still missing. Multiple calls to the store produced the same result, "The manager is investigating". Over a 2+ month period of time, I did not receive a single call back from the store. I finally was able to speak to the manager today (6/26/23) and he denied having heard about this issue until my call the previous week. He said his investigation did not turn up the jacket nor any record of it. I know that the jacket was placed into the pickup bag because I put it there. I know the jacket is not in my house because we just packed my entire house to move. Kona cleaners lost my jacket and will not own up to having lost it in their system and/or given it to someone else. They have denied to make it right by paying me for the jacket ($149). My only recourse is to complain to the BBB and Yelp. read more

I want to like them so badly, but every time I go in I'm disappointed. The prices are decent and the location is great for me, but each time I visit is a different issue. The first time I went in they lost my laundry. The next time they miscalculated the yelp deal that I bought and didn't get my discount right. Most recently I got all of my white laundry back with black pieces of fuzz all over it. One of the pieces I brought and still had stains on it. When I pointed them out, they said that they will clean it again for free. Isn't that why I brought it in the first time? You win some, you lose some. Kona is a loss for me. Update: I went in today to pick up my re-cleaned vest. Not to my surprise, it was lost somewhere in the dry cleaning room. I had to wait almost 10 minutes for them to find the vest and then another five minutes for them to finish cleaning it because there were fuzz balls all over it. This review is long overdue, so I apologize. I decided to give try Kona Cleaners a try last month since they are located near my work. At lunchtime I dropped off a bag of laundry and several articles for dry cleaning. The attendant behind the counter greeted us with a smile and she was very friendly. She separated our items with care and respect and gave us a claim ticket. Later that afternoon, I received an automated email saying that my items had been received and were being processed (kinda cool). A couple of days later I received another automated email saying that our items are finished and are ready for pickup (very cool!). When I picked up my clothes the following day, I was stunned to say the least! The shirts were carefully hung on hangers with paper separators and the long sleeves were neatly pinned together. It reminded me of the "old days" when dry cleaners used to neatly fold & box items instead of just throwing everything on cheap wire hangers. I was so impressed with the quality of work and the care that they took with our expensive clothes that I decided to call the store manager (Maria?) to personally thank her for a job well done. A few days later, I received a hand-written card from Maria thanking me for my telephone call and business. Talk about customer service!! This place is the best of both worlds! On one hand, they are new and modern and computer savvy with email communications, etc. On the other hand, they operate like an old time dry-cleaners where they actually care about your clothes and the customer. Also, I'd like to point out that Kona does all of their work (in-house) on their premises; they do not send your clothes to a third party cleaner and act as a middleman between you and the laundry company. You can actually see all of the large washers and steamers working in the back area. And they even offer pick-up and delivery! What more could anyone ask for? read more
