They did an AMAZING job cleaning my comforter! It had dirt stains on it & was pretty heavy & delicate. They got all the stains out & only charged me $53 for a king sized knitted comforter. Will be coming back!

Little late on this review as I was out of country but now I finally have the time to write it out. I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could. Came here 1/18/24 to get a blouse dry cleaned. When I came to pick it up, I noticed two of the hooks had been ripped off. Mind you, this blouse was a little on the pricier side, around $800. First off, when receiving my blouse after it had been dry cleaned, they didn't bother to notify me that the hooks had been ripped off. I came home, checked the blouse and found out myself. As a business, you should definitely ALWAYS check the clothing items before sending it back to your customers. Called them, told them about what had happened and they told me to bring it back and they can fix it. Fast forward a bit and I came to pick it up after it had been fixed, expecting them to find the hooks that had been ripped off and reattach them. NO. They decided to use different hooks that looked NOTHING like the original and tried to pass it off as ok. I demanded they either find the same hooks or reimburse me for the top. Unfortunately, their fine print states they can only reimburse up to 10x the charge for cleaning the item regardless of the brand/price. That's only about $150.. Miraculously, I came to the conclusion to settle it with my credit card company. As an American Express card holder, I was able to file a claim and get reimbursed in full for the item. The only thing that irked me to my core was trying to get Kona Cleaners to sign off on the form, stating they weren't able to fix it. I was going back and forth through email with a man named Carlos Diaz. Extremely unprofessional. I've attached some pictures regarding the email but will not be including the entire conversation. His attitude in the emails and the way he composed them show a LOT about his character. He was also hesitant to sign any forms although I CLEARLY stated what the forms were about... Why wouldn't you want to be cooperative so that it'd solve the issue for both parties? That's what I don't understand. Why was he so hesitant to begin with? ‍ Overall, the problem had been solved no thanks to them. I ended up buying the same blouse again and now I'm stuck with one that's completely unwearable. I came here with the impression they would do great work regardless of their prices. My impression of them was utterly wrong. I would definitely NOT recommend this place. I have been nothing but kind and respectful the entire time trying to figure out this dilemma, only to be returned with attitude and unprofessionalism. Go elsewhere. This place is not worth the time nor the stress.

If I can leave 0 star here, I definitely would. Manager can't handle the situation professionally and trying to fight back instead of being sorry, blaming us that we have "low quality suit with no care tags" that's why the suit ended up like this. Hilarious. So unprofessional. Will never ever go back here. Charging way too much but the outcome sucks. Very disappointed

In case anyone is curious what their advertised "professional alterations" looks like. What a shame to charge customers for such awful quality.

$21.24 to clean this dress because they charge the 'belt' separately. Ridiculous
    Mary S.

Dry cleaning is fine however they are on the expensive side and charged me $20 to dry clean a single dress. The dress has a fabric tie around the waist area and they charged it as a separate item for $10. Won't be back.

I would like to share my extremely unsatisfactory experience with Kona Cleaners for the benefit of potential and current customers. I also want to bring this matter to the attention of the store manager. Here are the facts of my experience: On September 5th, I dropped off 8 pieces of clothing at their store. They returned 7 of them on September 8th. I noticed that one piece was missing, and when I checked the app, it showed "in progress." I thought it was fine and decided to wait. I continued to wait until September 19th, and the missing item still hadn't been delivered. I became concerned and called the office. The lady who answered the phone was very rude with an unpleasant attitude. She informed me that my clothing was still "in progress," even though it had been 2-3 weeks since I had dropped it off. She asked me to wait for one more delivery cycle, but I was deeply concerned. After several days, I decided to call again. This time, I spoke with Omar, who told me that my situation was unusual, and he needed to investigate. Upon further inspection, he discovered that my clothing had been misplaced. He mentioned that he needed to review surveillance footage to locate it and asked me to give them one more week. On October 3rd, Omar called me to inform me that they had found my missing item. He inquired whether I wanted it recleaned, and I agreed, given that it had been missing for an entire month. They recleaned it and delivered it on the next truck. However, I was astounded to see that they had charged me twice for this missing sweater. The recleaning fee was even higher than the initial cleaning fee. What was most surprising was that they provided no apologies for losing my clothing for an entire month, offered no compensation, and yet charged me twice. I was in shock, and I contacted the office to speak with Omar. He acknowledged their error and admitted that they shouldn't have charged me the recleaning fee. He assured me that they would reimburse me for the initial cleaning fee and the recleaning fee as a form of apology. As of today, October 17th, I have only received a refund for the initial cleaning fee. The recleaning fee is still on my bill. In recounting this experience, I want to emphasize how horrendous the service and communication have been from September to October for a single clothing item. It's evident that they don't prioritize their customers, and this is not how a business should operate. I hope that the founder or senior manager of Kona Cleaners will take note of this review. My intention in sharing this is to shed light on the reasons behind my review.

This is a long overdue review! I first reached out to The Golden Stitch on Yelp in October 2025. I…read morewas starting to plan my baby shower and had a crazy idea. I wanted guests to design individual quilt squares at the shower and have them sewn together afterwards. The idea originally came up online and suggested having people use fabric markers or puffy paint. Since I have a cricut, I immediately thought the idea would work well with HTV decals. However, I quickly realized cutting and weeding enough decals was going to be a nightmare, and they were unlikely to hold up well over time. This was when I turned to Yelp. I started searching for anywhere that did custom designs on clothing, thinking this would be the best lead. The Golden Stitch came up, and I sent the same message I was sending a bunch of other businesses. Very quickly, I got a response from Nicole. At that point, I wasn't sure we would be using her services. She was still incredibly helpful in giving advice on other items involved in the project, specifically things to look for when choosing fabric. Much to my surprise, she let me know she had done HTV decals for onesies for her friend's baby shower! I ended up going down in person to see samples of the onesies and discuss more details about how to make this idea come to life. She was incredibly knowledgable and very transparent about the pitfalls of some things I suggested and pricing of what I was looking for. By the time I left, I knew what to buy for fabric and what kind of art could and couldn't be printed at the price I could afford. Unfortunately, it did take me a while to find some art packages on Etsy to purchase and I was slow to come back and send her what I wanted. Nicole was incredibly understanding and still did her best to accommodate me and make sure I had the decals in time for the baby shower. She even went through and sized each piece of artwork to fit well on the square size we were using. Despite the time crunch I created, she got the sheets of HTV decals to me before the baby shower. My mother in law, my husband and I spent time sitting together and cutting them apart. Nicole even explained to me how to use my cricut heat press to secure the decals at the shower. After the shower, she was able to put them through her industrial press to help ensure they last along time. When I came back to ask her to press the squares, we discussed how to identify who did what square. This was something I hadn't considered when people were designing their squares. At this point, I been messaging and working with Nicole for several months and I now had a newborn at home. She was super helpful in suggesting how to add initials and/or names to the squares. I was overwhelmed and not giving much direction. Nicole was, again, so quick to get them pressed and add names/initials. What really made it special was the time she and her fiancé took to place the names and initials creatively. She also helped us design the center square with our son's full name, date of birth, and birth stats. My mom has been sewing the squares and the quilt is now almost completed. This keepsake would have been just a sad-could-have-been memory without Nicole. Now our son will have a custom quilt from everyone who came to celebrate him at the baby shower. I'm so grateful for Nicole's wonderful services, but also her compassion and patience. This project is so special to our little family and wouldn't have been possible without her.

All he had to do was cut the sleeves off so up the side and then reattach the sleeve. When I came in to pick it up, the sleeves were not cut, they're two different sizes, the neckline wasn't cut to size and I looked like the background dancers in the goofy movie with the broad shoulders. There's so much bunching in the top since I have smaller breast and I pointed that out on Monday and he just kept repeating "I cut where I pin" anyone can do that. So since he was only going to cut what he pins, which was not our initial discussion, I took the time to explain. Show him the video again. I made it a point to make sure that he was going to be able to do this the way that I wanted before dropping it off because I would've spent more time looking for places that were capable of following instructions. Thankfully, I recorded our conversation and reported it to the Better Business Bureau. They just kept repeating the same sentence over and over again to the point where I started yelling over them and they started calling me crazy because I didn't want them to "fix anything" and I wanted a refund. Still have a destroyed unwearable jersey and no refund.
