By far the best roofers on the island. Good quality of work and done in a timely manner. I recommend this company to everyone

Standing seam aluminum roof with large new skylights installed, including flashing around chimney and dormer. New gutters included. All work completed with precision. All workers were professional in every way. Finished product is stellar. Cost was reasonable. TDS Roofing has my highest recommendation.

From the time of initial contact until today, I had a roof leak that penetrated my ceiling that evolved (with recent heavy rains) to two (2) ceiling roof leaks. Nearly every week and a half, I made contact with TDS in an attempt to assess/price the work. I was met each time with casual apologies and weak excuses of why I did not receive a callback, or why staff never showed up to assess the work to be done. I work for an affordable housing development company (likely the most reputable on this island) and have rarely come across such horrible service/bedside manner - service that I would absolutely not tolerate from any contractor conducting work for one of my company's projects. I have decided to move on as, only TODAY, TDS informed me that it would not even be able to conduct the work for another four (4) months. To not have the foresight of understanding a customer's immediate need (even after it had been clearly explained at the onset) is poor business manner and a major disappointment to say the least.

They told me i needed to redo all the nails/screws on both the roof of my house and carport or the next high winds would blow the whole thing off. I am a senior citizen living alone so i felt like i had no choice but to trust them. They completed the job and the next day the roof began to leak (a Friday) during a rain and they refused to come out until the following week. By the time they arrived i had damage to my roof, my lanai and the closet in my bedroom. They denied all responsibility and refused to help after many dollars were paid to them. I looked around for help and determined they had caused a leak in my solar water heater. The solar hot water heater was repaired by the appropriate company, the one that installed it for the previous owner of my home. They confirmed that Barrett caused the problem and Barrett still denied responsibility and guess what? My lanai still leaks during heavy rains today hundreds of dollars later, but at least it's rain water not hot water from the solar water heater. So no, i don't recommend them.

It has rained for three straight weeks! What a test! Thank you Barrett Roofing.

We did try to contact a few other roofing companies, but either received no call back after leaving a message or they didn't show after making an appointment. One of the two companies that actually did connect with us was Daniel from Lava Roofing. He was friendly, did his initial assessment quickly and was very knowledgeable on what had to be done, plus he responded to any questions we had in a timely matter. Admittedly his quote was higher than the other business, but service and quality are what is most important to us and since he was a pleasure to work with, we decided to go with his company. He also set up reasonable expectations on when we might have our roof worked on. We were in no rush, especially since the weather was not cooperating, so just knowing that someone was going to finally work on our roof was perfectly fine with us. Unfortunately our experience after the initial consultation was... challenging. Other than a couple of emails sent to all of the current Lava Roofing clients (one giving a general update and another that introduced a new project coordinator), we received no personal updates by the company. When it was getting close to the possible start date, we actually had to initiate contact (through calls and emails) to get any sort of updates on the project. We also did not know what to expect when the work was actually being done. All we were told was that the project could go on up to a few days dependent on the weather. Again, I'd like to reiterate that we were absolutely fine with the time frame. From what we could gather, the first day was a power wash and repairs, followed by paint resurfacing a couple of days later. After those two days of work, there was still some material left and several buckets of paint remaining, so we assumed another day of work was required. We waited a few days and nobody came. What was interesting was that after those few days, we received an online invoice asking to pay the remaining balance. Confused, we reached out to Lava and was told the work was already finished and that they were coming back to go over the work done and pick up the remaining materials. I believe it was the project manager Tucker who came by. After we loaded his truck with the leftover materials, I expressed my concerns about the communication gaps we experienced and even he acknowledged the issue. Although it was interesting that after he left, we still didn't go over the work that was done. That being said, what is bothersome is the very low amount of communication through the entire process. Not knowing what to expect or even what days they would be working was somewhat concerning. And yes, I believe we had a "fixed price" contract, but with the material left over, especially the six buckets of paint that was left unused, seemed quite excessive. Now to be fair, the work that was done looks great and I believe they did an overall solid job. Not only did they power wash the roof, they took the time to make sure the gutters were clean and our driveway was power washed also. The work they did to the roof definitely makes it look like it's new again and gives us the peace of mind that it will last for quite awhile. It was those things and our initial interactions with Daniel, that were very positive experiences. Overall, as much as we wanted to like Lava Roofing, we just can't recommend them. The few times we had great customer service, along with the solid work that was done to the roof... was just crushed by the lack of communication and higher price.
