    The Sopranos Sandwich

First time trying out this deli and I really like the vibe of the store. It definitely has a surfer, beach vibe and i like how the menu showcases that as well. I was greeted right when I walked in and was in and out no problem. Service was 10/10. I got the sopranos sandwich which has pepperoni, ham, and mozzarella on hawaiian white. The bread honestly makes the sandwich as the sandwich itself is nothing special. I would definitely come back for a hot sandwich as I know it would pair nicely with the sweet hawaiian bread. Overall, I would recommend if you're looking for a solid sandwich spot

I will FOREVERRRR love this place! I come here so often, I hope they keep everything the same forever lol annnnd the workers are so sweet and so helpful! If any sandwich shop in SLO should have a cult following it should be this place. I said what I said ‍ the 6 inch is definitely enough to FILL you UP! I also want to add that I am very picky when it comes to my sandwich meat and I have 0 complaints for Kona's! 100/100 Oh one thing I would change is I would love if they were open later. But that's it.

kona's deli's was such a cozy place!! super family friendly, beachy, and the 3 girls working were so funny to talk to while I was ordering lol. Go check out their new tiktok too for Kona's Deli!! they're hilarious and I can tell they love their job. I'll definitely be back soon for another sandwich :)

    PLT, close.

How does one get so much flavor action in such a compact fashion? There's a level of mental and physical intimacy one has with such a sandwich. PLT.

I was introduced to Kona's by my bf because he raved about it a lot and after my first time I understood immediately. Their sandwiches are deliciously packed and on that Hawaiian bread?? Ooh yum!! Even with just half of the 6" I always find myself full, and I end up telling myself I can probably save the other half for dinner. Somehow, I always end up shoving the other half down my throat though because I just want to keep tasting the delicious flavors. My two favorites that I switch between are Junkyard Dog and Beach Break. The pesto cream cheese in the Junkyard Dog is just soooo good. I also love "the works" that you can add on to your sandwich. It's like Subway, but way better. They also have daily deals like 10% off for students on some certain day.

We have had sandwiches from here now a couple of times and we just can't seem to get enough. This time we ordered the Chicken Salad Melt. OH MY! SO darn delicious. There were a lot of people there so it did take a little longer but no worries, there were quite a few tables available for us to wait at. I ordered the Goomba in a whole and sammie! I opted for the option of toasting the sandwich and honestly, there was no need for that. I got it on a a Dutch crunch bread and the toasting honestly made it harder to chew since it was hardened and dry. Doesn't even matter because the amount of meat and toppings on it made up for the bread. I love that the meat to bread ratio is like 2:1!

It wasn't the quickest option because there was one person rolling dough off to the side and one person handling everything else including making the food and taking orders, so I would expect to wait. If you have the time though, the breakfast bagel sandwiches were good and they also have a chocolate zucchini loaf that we also bought. The bagels tasted fresh and the sandwiches were very filling. I didn't add anything to my bagel (beyond the cream cheese, tomato, and avocado that was included in the breakfast bagel), but my boyfriend added bacon and it was a generous amount. The chocolate zucchini loaf is honestly more of a cake and quite a bit sweeter than other zucchini bread I've tried. If you're looking for a denser chocolate cake with little flecks of green, it's great. They also offered samples, and we bought the chocolate zucchini loaf because we enjoyed the sample. There isn't anywhere to sit inside but there are a couple of tables outside on the patio. Only a couple of them had umbrellas, and unfortunately we were at one without an umbrella, but it wasn't too bad since it was earlier in the day. This is definitely a more casual place, and worth going to if you have some extra time to spend and it's convenient to you.
