Why have I never ate at Eddie's Grill sooner?! I ordered a California club and it is amazing. Basically a BLT with avocado and a grilled chicken it's so flavorful it's so delicious. I also had a pineapple coconut shake, and they use real coconut flakes and chunks of pineapple in it and it's so freaking good. The prices aren't bad either and I've never dealt with anyone that was rude and they are pretty quick with everything. The inside is nothing fancy but I think most people order take out. You can order from the kiosk or in person. My new favorite spot! read more

$24 for a Burger combo. The drink cup was so flimsy that it collapses if held firmly. Since this was a to go order I asked for an additional cup to strengthen the integrity of the flimsy cup to get it to the car and then back to my office. I had asked for an additional cup previously and was given without any issues . The kid at the counter refused and would not respond when questioned, he just stood there mute. My favorite lunch spot when you want a quick and delicious bite. Their online ordering system makes things too easy and they are super fast! When they say it will be ready in 15 minutes they mean 5-10. I haven't tried too many different menu items but the patty melt, onion rings and any of their cheeseburgers are fantastic. They offer many different sauce options-I love the chipotle Mayo. I would like to try their hotdogs or pastrami sometime along with the milkshakes . They always have creative daily specials as well which I can appreciate. I only have two suggestions. The jalapeño loaded fries were delicious as well, I just wish the fresh jalapeños were grilled longer. Also, the chicken strips were a bit dry so they may be better if they weren't fried so long? I wholly agree with Megan M. The Santa Barbara is burger ambrosia, if such is possible. The flavorful buns come from a local bakery in Santa Maria and are a treat in themselves. Order the onion rings on the side. The staff are friendly and obliging, greet you when you come in and say good-bye and thank you when you leave. I enjoy the family ambiance of the place and always eat at table. Next time I go, I'll take pictures to post. read more

Due to COVID I've noticed a lot of restaurants food quality have taken a nose dive, and have raised prices too! It makes me sad because I want to help their business by eating there, but when prices go up and quality go down, I just can't do it. Well Eddie's grill is doing it right! They shrunk their menu down a lot, (which I'm bummed about because I wanted a sandwich or a wrap) but my bummed-ness soon went away after tasting their food. They are smart by decreasing their menu offerings so that they can concentrate on a handful of items and keep them top notch quality! Had the chicken burger and fries. Soft brioche delish bun, super fresh and quality onions lettuce and tomato, and a nice crispy (says spicy but it's mild) chicken tender ($6.65) Crispy seasoned thin fries ($2.50) mmm. Their prices CANNOT be beat!!! Wish they were open on Sunday's cause that's when I like to get take out! Easy walk up grab and go spot with dining options in the restaurant. I grabbed my burger to go...This was a fabulous hamburger! I've been looking for a good one in the area and now I have found it. The bun is soft and delicious and the meat is properly seasoned. I really appreciated that they put all of the fixings on the side for me so I could create my own stack. - The french fries were really well seasoned. They were a little crispy for me... After a long day of soccer the girls wanted a good old burger to pick up on the way back to the Airbnb. A quick Yelp search showed us Eddie's Grill just up the road from the field and on the way to the house. We popped in, 3 parents and 3 kiddos and it was clean, with an easy to read menu, and just what we wanted. We ordered their version of a bbq burger but with a twist, thousand island dressing and bbq sauce. Wow, so good. Perfectly cooked and seasoned patty, nice buns. Onion rings were a little soggy but still good. We also ordered a patty melt, chili dog, fries, sweet potato fries, and zucchini sticks. All of it was met with thumbs up and happy bellies. This place is a favorite as far as the food goes, but the little girl in the front as a poor customer service attitude. Did not smile, when I stated, so there isn't a kids menu she snarled and said "I guess not!" A pretty face will only get you so far in life little girl. This was the first place I stopped in SLO for food after freshly arriving from my trip from Santa Barbara, and it was convenient because it was on the road to where I was staying that night. The menu is a great selection of sandwiches and wraps to choose from, and I decided to get the Chx Ceasar Wrap and, as the guy suggested, I get a side of fries, which was an extra 3.25 or something like that. This is where they lose a star, because the guy totally upcharged and upsold. I didn't know the wrap came with chips, that would have been fine as a side, but the guy was like, get a side that way you have more fries to eat. So I was like alright, why not. Then I get the portion, and it's a massive amount of fries. To go with a massive wrap. Which boosts the stars to 3 cause the wrap was good, not fantastic just alright but, that was an upsell I did not need. Other then that, nothing to write home about. This place is the most immaculate place I've ever eaten. There's a guy there who I'm guessing is the owner who wears an Air Force hat, and he must have been in the military because he runs that place like a machine. But what about the food? Delicious! I've tried the burgers and tuna melts, both excellent. The fries are crispy, well seasoned and fresh. This place is a gem. The food here is incredibly consistent and the quality is LEVELS above the price point. As most experienced veteran SLO diners are aware, the food around here ain't always consistent, and it ain't always good. We are constantly dealing with restaurants opening up with a bang, realizing they can't turn a profit, cutting corners, and of course the inevitable demise resulting in yet another empty restaurant space. THIS PLACE IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF ALL OF THOSE THINGS. They have kept their food top notch since day one and the price point is absurdly low/reasonable. Can't go wrong with the chicken strips. Can't go wrong with the burger selection. They will also lettuce wrap their burgers for those health conscious eaters. The specials are always a hit. Be on the look out for the California wrap which is a burrito of sorts stuffed with tri tip and fries! I would go as far as to say this is the best lunch spot in town, especially when you factor in bang for your buck. Give Eddie's a shot. You won't be disappointed! read more

Ordered myself the BBQ Bacon Jalapeño Burger and boy did it have a nice kick to it. The burger was delicious and wished I had order 2 instead of just one. The price was decent as well. I also got me a chocolate shake and that did not disappoint either. Only down fall I have was not knowing I had to order fries as well. This is definitely a great burger spot! My husband got the Hawaiian burger which was very good, but my Santa Barbara burger was the definite winner. It was juicy and the avocado on top was generous. It was delicious overall. The onion rings were also some of the best I've had. They were light and extra crispy; I couldn't get enough! My only gripes were the kids hotdog was pretty sad looking. It was on the small side (compared to other places we've gotten dogs for the kids), looked like it had been barely grilled and the bread wasn't toasted it just looked a bit sad. The only other issue was the ventilation. The place is quite small and got really smoky inside. Nothing to deter me from going back, but just a warning to those who are sensitive to a lot of smoke. Don't be fooled, this burger was really good, and the fries were decent. But I was left wondering why this place has changed so much. I was excited for my first visit at Eddie's Grill, I saw pictures of a menu that looked made for the San Luis Obispo area with burgers that were so unique I was so excited to try them. I arrive at Eddies Grill to see nothing but corporate screens like you would see at a McDonalds with basic burgers you could get anywhere. There isn't anything necessarily wrong with that, but all of the excitement of eating at Eddies Grill was taken away. No more Hawaiian burgers with grilled pineapple or Spicy Jalapeño burgers. Only regular cheeseburgers with maybe some bacon. It isn't bad, but it doesn't stand out amongst the crowd. read more

As other recent reviews have indicated, unfortunately the awesomeness of Eddies no longer lives. The name changed to 'Fast Eddies To Go' along with a new menu. Both those changes have the appearance of change of ownership? The quality is just not there, the burger patties are different and bland. The burgers left something to be desired and very fast food like, Five Guys and Habit are steps above for similar cost. It seemed like the burgers were also no longer grilled/charbroiled and instead just done on a flat top with little to no seasoning. Whenever I'm craving a burger, I look no further than Eddie's Grill. This place does burgers and sandwiches extremely well. Have eaten here about four times now. Some of my favorite burgers are the Western Burger, Ortega & Swiss Burger and the Patty Melt. I always pair my burger with a basket of their fries, which are made to a crispy perfection. Everything is made to order. You can taste the freshness and quality of their ingredients. Their staff is super friendly and I've always had great service. I wish I could rate this places food. I'm giving one star because we couldn't even purchase and consume anything. They have a menu with vegetarian items which is prominently featured on their menu, but when we ordered our Tempeh burgers the girl at the counter looked at us and said "I can't find it on my screen" so she said couldn't sell it to us. For a place that's mostly about burgers and sandwiches, they have really awesome salads! I work around this intersection and go here for salads. Really healthy, tastes amazing, and they have no problem giving a simple dressing like oil and vinegar. I'm sure they have regular dressings too.
