I liked the special they had for Father's Day. It was a blender of chocolate covered chips and pretzels with caramel and chocolate crunchies. Of course I had to add my own special flair to it and sub peanut butter for the caramel and Oreos for the chocolate crunchies. So delightful! Who doesn't love ice cream?? I know it's winter but sometimes a girl truly just needs a scoop or three to round out the night. We traveled out to East Aurora to get ice cream and everyone was so nice! My husband and I both got the Buffalo Dough. He got it as a milkshake and I got the scoops with ice cream cake crunchies. I didn't realize heaven had come to earth. I loved everything about this experience. This is truly the only thing I will get every time I'm here. I came here with a friend yesterday afternoon. We were out in the area getting selfies for a scavenger hunt that another friend is leading. We needed five ice cream shops and we decided to come here to grab another selfie. This Kone King location isn't like most ice cream shops in the area. You go INSIDE to order and can eat INSIDE!!! They used to be cash only but they now take credit cards, if you'd like to pay that way. My friend ordered an ice cream that she absolutely loved. I ordered a small vanilla soft serve sundae with rainbow sprinkles, Spanish peanuts, and a tasty butterscotch topping. It was amazing!!! (This place is kind of pricy but it didn't deter me from taking off a star because of the taste.) They have the most hard ice cream choices that I've seen anywhere else. They have many other items to try. Their Twister (like a Dairy Queen Blizzard) flavors sounds great. They have more Twister Flavors than the other location and many of their flavors sound so different and interesting. They have a fluff-n-nutter flavor that I'd love to try. They have many booths available, if you'd like to stay inside and eat in their air conditioning. They also have a case of frozen treats and cakes that you can purchase to go. There is cool ice cream decor painted on the walls and in their bathroom. (I didn't take as many pictures of the decor and the menu because the line moved quickly, once we came in.) Not happy at all! Have been going to Kone King for a vary long time. My son ordered a vanilla milk shake and said to me at first sip that it did not taste good. We have been going for years and it just seemed like it was all milk vary little ice cream. So I went to owner and said vary nicely I think this is not made correctly. It tastes off like to much milk. He opened the cap and just looked at me and said it looks good to me. Did not try to make new one, or offer something else. He looked at me like I was being to picky. This is my main ice cream joint. This CASH only, creamy deliciousness is worth stopping for cash if you don't have any- heck/ it's one of the reasons I keep a few bucks in my wallet, just Incase! They have plenty of tables to sit and eat inside, it's always clean and the workers are friendly and prompt. They have ice cream bars and cakes to go, already made in the case. You can get one or bags six for the freezer. They also make beautifully decorated ice-cream cakes, I had one for my birthday and it was SOOOO GOOD! You can order the day before or grab one from the case and ask them to write what you want on it. Lots of choices with the hard ice cream, but I always get a twist with chocolate sprinkles and my daughter gets the Dole whip, and I always hope I have to finish it for her, but I rarely get the chance lol. I like to get Peanut Butter Crunch made with chocolate ice cream or Oreo made with chocolate ice cream. You can even purchase cakes and novelty treats there. When KKE opened in 1999, I loved it. Since then I've steadily lost interest. Today reminded me of why I don't come in any more. The owner was snippy and rude to a young lady when she said "I said chocolate" when he started to make her Sunday with vanilla. Instead of correcting the sunday, he continued to make it adding chocolate on top of the vanilla and bitching at her while he's doing it saying "you didn't say chocolate, you have to tell me before I make it". Meanwhile there's a line of customers observing this behavior. Why didn't I leave? Because I was treating my 10 y.o. to ice cream after a field trip day (it was 92 today). But man I wanted to walk out. So, I made it a point to order a Sunday with chocolate ice cream, and I was making very strong eye contact when I ordered. I think he got the message, because he made my daughters Sunday, then when he moved on to making mine, he said," you said chocolate for that?" Yes sir, and please be nicer to your customers. The owner is a complete jerk. He held the door open for my 10 year old autistic brother and when when my brother ( who is non verbal) did not say "thank you" back, the owner said "you're welcome" (in a snarky tone) and obviously my brother still did not say anything back and the owner decided to take it the next level and say "what? I held the door for you and you can't say thank you?" And my sister responded with " he's autistic" and he said " oh my bad". Yeah it is your bad that 1. You would speak to a ten year old like that for not saying thank you regardless of whether he has special needs or not. 2. Does it really bother you that much that a ten year old boy didn't say thank you? I could understand if it were an adult but he is 10. If dealing with people bothers you that much I am thinking you are probably in the wrong business. My brother has To go through enough struggles on a daily basis and to have this guy be a jerk for no reason is just so uncalled for. He should really take an etiquette class on how to treat people. I found out today that there currently exists a Sponge Candy ice cream by Perry's and when I went to the Perry's website to find a somewhat nearby location for it, the only place that came up was Kone King in East Aurora. So, my hubby and I decided to take a drive out there for dessert. We just HAD to have this ice cream. We took a little dessert trip from Amherst to East Aurora for this, and we were NOT disappointed. I called before I headed out, just to make absolutely sure they carried the ice cream and were open. The owner was super awesome and nice over the phone and even more awesome in person when we arrived. We sampled the ice cream and decided it was definitely what we wanted. We both ordered large cones of it. The list of Perry's ice creams that they carry was huge and there were a ton on there that I had never even heard of! Many of the flavors seem to only be carried at ice cream shops and not in the regular supermarket (which is the case with the Sponge Candy flavor). We'll definitely be back to try the other kinds. In speaking with the owner, we found out they should be getting even more flavors soon! This place is great. The service was perfect, the place is clean, and a nice place to hang with friends and relax for a little bit. Even on this freezing cold day in winter, I did not regret making the trip for this treat. Before heading out, my hubby ordered a Fluffernutter milkshake (which we'd NEVER heard of or seen anywhere before). That was awesome too! Definitely recommend if you're a lover of peanut butter and fluff sandwiches! Moral of the story, if you're in the area, or NOT in the area, make the trip over to Kone King for a delicious treat! They handle money and then serve you the ice cream, no washing hands in between or gloves. I took my nephews there last weekend and the Owner was extremely rude to my 10 yr old nephew. We were ordering a Ice Cream Birthday cake and wanted something on it at first we said we wanted Mickey Mouse but my 4 yr old said no he wanted something else. So the 10 yr old Sir can we change that too...and the owner yelled NO you are getting Mickey.
