Potato Kong Dog and Sweet Chili Doritos Kong Dog
    Santaliz G.

The corn dogs were pretty good, a lot bigger than you'd expect. My favorite was the sweet chili Doritos one. Their batter is a bit thick so they definitely could benefit from putting a thinner layer on the glizzies. Service was fast and staff were friendly! The spot looked clean and welcoming.

Who doesn't love a good corn dog. These are even better. The sweet chili dorito dog was out of this world. I will most likely be back to try all of them. Service was super friendly, served quickly and food was super hot and fresh. The prices are more than reasonable. Also, they've got delicious Korean sodas.

This was the situation. I was at the mall with my son picking up my daughter. He got some Chinese and I was not in the mood. So I took the walk and looked everywhere. So kong dog was very interesting. All kinds of cool looking options. And veggies stuff too. So I pulled the trigger and got the Doritos and sweet chili dog. Wasn't too bad 5 buck and it was half dog and half mozzarella. Hand battered and fried to order. After a couple minute wait it was pretty darn good. It's actually a jail food but don't tell anyone I know that. I'm a believer and I'd definitely go back. Would have been a five but the lady behind the counter was eating something while cooking and the guy helping with the kiosk ordering system asked for a tip. So the turn offs deducted a half star each. I'd recommend this place !

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING AND YOU HAVE TO TRY IT AT LEAST ONCE! If you ever go to foodcourt in Crossgates, you'll see a store on the side. We walked by and noticed the line was very long. We still decided to try it out and boy was it worth it. They sell Korean Corn dogs here with different types of topping and you can also customize what you want on the inside. We got the potato and flaming hot corn dogs. Visually, they look amazing. Price was also affordable, it was around 5 dollars for each and it has pretty high portions. I recommend getting half mozzarella and half sausage so you get to taste both. You'll get some nice cheese pull. Just beware, it does take a while to make it because of the long line. But to me it was 1000% worth it. Will go there again next time to try out different toppings.

Are you looking for an intense cheese pull to satisfy your need for cheese? If so then I would highly recommend Kong Dog. They're making Korean style hot dogs inside the Crossgates Mall food court. I went for the original dog with half cheese, half hot dog. The crispy exterior was nicely contrasted with the chewy dough on the inside. The outside is also coated in sugar and would appeal to anyone who's into that sweet/savory combo. I'm not lying when I say there's a crazy cheese pull by the way! I was sitting there creating longer and longer cheese pulls for at least a minute before it finally broke, it was so fun! There's more crazy and adventurous flavors on the menu, such as Hot Cheeto dust, sweet potato cubes, and soybean powder (indeolmi). This is your sign to stop by on your next trip to the mall

Can't stop thinking about this corn dog. By far the best I have EVER tried. I will definitely return and try different ones.

A Original cheese Kong Dog. Mm tasty.

Good, but they totally forgot to add the sugar as it's advertised. It did take from the true experience but overall it was still yummy.

This Asian fusion eatery offers custom made to order noodle & rice dishes, choosing your type of dish such as sweet stir fry, spicy stir fry, spicy stir fry pasta, cream pasta, bulgogi pasta, Whealthy fried rice, ram don, and pad Thai, choosing your carb, choose veggies, and choose proteins. At the time of this posting, all dishes were being offered for $12.99 plus tax. I chose the Spicy Stir Fry Pasta, opting for udon noodles, broccoli, spinach, carrots, chicken and shrimp, which the staff member added those ingredients to a metal bowl, then brought back to the kitchen to be custom prepared. My food was hot and ready and boxed in about 7 minutes. The portion was just right, enough for a filling lunch in one sitting. This dish was spicy and very fresh tasting, and piping hot. The udon noodles with the veggies and chicken and shrimp went well together. I can't wait to try another combination next time, cream pasta with tofu, shrimp, baby corn cucumbers and red peppers, lol

I had to give my son a bath and some time it passed before I got to sit down and open it and it was still steaming hot. It smelled SO good. It was so amazing. My kids gathered around me asking me what I was eating. I wouldn't even let them taste it because I selfishly wanted it all to myself. It tasted so fresh and I mean it was I saw the ingredients. The guy working was quiet but very nice. It's all I've been thinking about. I just want to go order everything off of the menu and try it all. This is a little hidden gem. It's funny how an upstate New York. Some of the best food I've had in a long time was in a mall food court. Can't get a dish like this at a restaurant. Gotta love Albany! Go support this place. You will be so satisfied. I'm one of the best parts about it was. It was a really really decent sized portion. A normal human would have had leftovers but I tend to overeat lol It's like $12, which nowadays is a pretty typical price point for a meal. After eating the whole thing I still felt great because it was so light and the ingredients were so fresh.

I'm glad I did because this place turned out to be a hidden gem. The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere that's clean, cozy, and perfect for either a casual lunch or dinner with friends. The service was friendly, and the sake was the perfect complement to the meal. I ordered the Vegetable Pad Thai and a Cucumber Roll, while my friend chose the General Tso's Chicken. If I'm being completely honest, my friend's dish stole the show. The chicken was perfectly crispy, coated in a flavorful sauce with just the right balance of sweet and savory, and paired wonderfully with the rice and broccoli. My Vegetable Pad Thai was fresh and satisfying, but I would have loved just a little more sauce to really bring all the flavors together. The Cucumber Roll was light, refreshing, and a nice contrast to the richer entrées. Overall, this was a great dining experience. Between the inviting atmosphere, flavorful food, and relaxing vibe, Tomo Asian Bistro is definitely worth checking out if you're in the Slingerlands area. I'll absolutely be back to explore more of the menu.

It's a Taiwan-Asian fusion-inspired fast food chain but I was down for this. It's been more than a year since my last meal here. I don't know if they changed their menu but I experienced a bit of a relearning curve in ordering ramen at the front counter. First, I needed to pick a broth. I chose Tonkotsu ramen, which is ramen in Japanese pork bone broth. Then, I needed to pick a protein which was shrimp and I asked for the meal to be extra spicy. It only took a few minutes. I could hear it being prepared in the kitchen. The young woman at the register was helpful and patient as I made my selection. Definitely convenient. The ramen was good. I got a lot of shrimp and I liked the little slices of fish cake with pink flower designs. The decor has undergone slight changes since I last visited. It seems there are better displays and more varieties of merch. It's still very clean, bright and cheerful. There are still plenty of young customers. Given its close proximity to SUNY Albany that should be no surprise. I liked the playlist, too. R & B and Hip Hop played in the background. Loud enough so that you could definitely hear it but low enough so that students who were dining--some in groups-- could comfortably hold conversations. I didn't plan to come here but my stomach growled. It was a nice, relaxing lunch that hit the spot.

We ordered our dishes with two proteins- there was more cucumber than fish! I bring it up because I could actually count the 3 pieces of tuna and salmon in my bowl. The "wasabi" sauce is not only radioactive green but is 100% mayo- no wasabi flavor at all and SLATHERED all over the bowl. Service was great, but the presentation and the quality of food (especially for the money) is not worth it. Very disappointed.

And since this…read moreplace was just down the street and had recently opened, it seemed like a good opportunity to try them out. We had a coupon in a book that was mailed to us, otherwise I never would have known this place existed. It took over a failed Subway restaurant (which was right around the corner from Mr. Subb), and I was surprised an Asian takeout place moved in because right around the corner (next to the Mr. Subb) was another Chinese take out place. Sure, this place has dine-in options. And it claims to be Asian Fusion. Anyway, we both ordered the same dish: General Tsos chicken. I had brown rice, and my wife had fried rice. The softspoken guy who answered the phone was friendly and told us our order would be ready in 10-15 minutes. For a Sunday night, they must have been slow. I got there with time to spare and watched him cook our food. The dining room is cute, though I would guess the fixtures were used as some were already torn and worn down. The chef's bar had nice blue lighting and features, and there was some fish out in the cooler wrapped up in plastic. I don't eat sushi so I cannot comment on whether this is the way sushi bars are, but it seemed interesting. Our food was served in Japanese style take-out containers. There were five individual compartments filled with the chicken/broccoli, the rice, the spring roll (or egg roll, depending on interpretation), some duck sauce, and packets of soy sauce. It traveled a lot better than those white cardboard boxes or round plastic containers. However, as my wife noted, they cost more too. I saved my containers to use for other projects. The food was step above regular takeout fare. I can't say if the recipes were better, if it were fresher, or if the travel containers helped it fare better. There was less sauce on it, which likely helped. Both rice types used Japanese short grain, which was fine by me but not what you normally get with Chinese takeout. Also, it wasn't spicy at all. And the portions were smaller than most, yet the prices were much higher than most. Two combo meals were $34.00 before tip. I know of places to go for really cheap, bad Chinese food (buffets), and places to go for really expensive, high-quality Chinese food. As for take-out, though, the lines blur a bit. I want to like this place, but I love the restaurant around the corner. I don't see how both can succeed. Since it is primarily a sushi restaurant, perhaps that is the niche they should focus on.

Menu prices seemed high for Chinese, portion was small and they used sushi rice to make the fried rice. The egg roll filling was mushy but came in a crispy spring roll paper. On the positive everything was fresh and presented nicely. The duck sauce for the egg roll was homemade. The chef who took my order was soft spoken, polite and friendly. In the future I'd like to sit at the counter for omakase and see how good the chef is.

We had just come from a drive around the NY capitol building and, whatever way the GPS brough us, it said that we had "arrived" when we were still on Delaware Ave. We were looking into an empty storefront and we were worried. But we turned the corner onto Central and were overjoyed to see McCant's. We couldn't tell if it was open from the street but we pressed our luck, parking and walking about a block. They were open! Yay! You can order at a kiosk/screen. Our group each went with a different dog, our group ending up with a Memphis, a Slaw Dog, and a New Yorker. We shared an order of fries. The food was ready quickly and as the food got off the folks behind the counter made sure everything looked good to us (it did!). My Mom gave her New Yorker 5 stars. Great flavor with the sauerkraut and onion sauce. My Aunt gave her Slaw Dog 4.75 stars. Tons of cole slaw (maybe a touch too much). I'd give my Memphis Dog 3.75. The McCants chili is pretty loose, liquidy and there is plenty of it on this top (maybe a touch too much). I didn't think the bun stood a chance against all the liquid toppings but, with some delicate handling, it made it through the whole eating experience. Phew. It was good but I think the chili really dominated the other toppings. The fries were great. Really well-seasoned. The folks behind the counter made sure we had a tasty experience as we left. I'd definitely come back here! I'm eyeing that Fire Truck!
