Food took forever to come so side dishes were a life saver although they also were never refilled which at traditional places they are. Main thing: the service was quite bad... from the moment we walked in, we didn't feel welcome as no one welcomed us, dirty tables were everywhere (like in those video games you play to clean up), and we waited awhile at the counter looking at menus until someone greeted us with an attitude yelling that counter is only for to-go and we should've just sat down if we're dining in... she huffed and sat us down, surrounded by the dirty tables. We asked if we could sit elsewhere but as big as the restaurant was, she still said half of it was closed for dinner (I know other places do the same but they were kind enough to let us sit in that area when requested) and the reason why this time, was because we were literally sitting surrounded by dirty dishes all around us - which they never cleaned up the entire hour we dined here! Very unpleasant view-never have I ever! Even our current table was sticky. And the food and service took forever. She seemed very annoyed when we ordered and whenever we asked for water or refill side dishes and gave attitude like we obviously need to wait for her to appear and be free to even ask which she was rarely seen. I never saw her treat other customers like the same way she treated us, for them, she was very patient and kind and offered menu options and even personal talk. Seems like she doesn't like tourists, just regulars. Anyways she was rarely seen throughout the meal and so I just sucked up the not so good food and we finished and took awhile to get the check. That was the only point in the interaction she seemed to be present in the restaurant. Other times she was nowhere to be seen. When paying, she loudly exclaimed what do you want to tip? In an attitude saying that, we had to tip, and it had to be a sufficient amount otherwise she'd be upset - which she was because service was not good. Even when we left and said bye, she gave us no word back and just another one of those scowled looks. Only one lady working the front and she was barely present and not pleasant. Overall food really isn't bad but it isn't amazing either. If this cuisine is what you're craving go for it, it's fairly priced. I would support a small business. But don't expect a clean restaurant or friendly service - unless youre a regular or fits the server preferred demographic. Not the best experience for me. Here's the gist: - Tangsuyuk (aka sweet and sour pork): any person calling themself Korean should know at first glance that how they present the pork and the sauce just ain't right. The lightly battered pork strips should be served on a plate, not in what reminds of Arabian Nights. The sauce gets even more puzzling. What makes tangsuyuk sauce so magical is (1) the delicate balance between the sweet and sour, (2) thick, gloomy consistency that coats the battered pork, and (3) FRESH sliced veggies that typically include cucumber, carrots, onions, woodear mushrooms, and colourful capsicum. Instead, what they served was a runny, overly tangy concoction with frozen peas and carrots (!?!?). Needless to say, we didn't even eat half of the stuff which prompted two different staff to ask if we needed a takeaway box (we said no). When we pulled up the photo of this dish on their menu and online that shows a wonderfully authentic presentation (which we fully expected to havd on our table) and showed it to staff, they had this uncomfortable body language that indicated they knew what we got on our table was an abomination, but they apologised and said what we got was what it was. I'm so baffled as to why they didn't make even the bare minimum effort to slice some fresh veggies, which I know they have available because I see them in side dishes and appetisers, for the sauce. - Nangmyeon. A lot gets lost in translation but basically, what I expect is...well, again, what is depicted in the menu photo. What I got was a very poor, austerity version and I barely ate half of it. The nauthenticity and poor presentation of these a la carte dishes are a direct replication of those of Seoul Korean Restaurant. What is puzzling is how awesome their BBQ is, from the marinade and soybean soup to the egg souffle, purple rice, and the side dishes. So, my star rating leans towards the BBQ experience vs a la carte, and that's my recommendation. They have a lot going for it and they got a lot of things right, from the tasteful music selection and industrial-meets-pocha vibe to the flat screens showing endless footages of Korean goodies preparation. Staff are patient and friendly, even though it took some effort on the latest visit to get the cheque sorted due to administratively caused overcharge. I hear they have good soon tofu and kimbap. I hope they continue to improve and get the locals on board because I'm glad they're here and I want them to thrive.

The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else).
