Good service. Great food. I had stop coming from many years when the ownership had switched and never went back. I didn't realize it had switched again, but really great fresh food! Yum. Definitely be back!

Saw this place and instantly I knew I needed to check it out. Our waiter was very quick and helped us with recommendations. The food was terrific and I really liked the beef dish we got it was amazing very authentic if I'm ever back in the Hadley area I'll be sure to swing by for a quick bite.

Amazing meal. Gracious service from our waiter Lily. Started with kimchi pancake and bulgogi kimbap. Two of our party had dolsot bibimbap- tofu and beef, another had bulgogi, and one AMAZING heamul jjamppong, and I had kimchi jjigae -- also delicious!!! So full of flavor, huge portions, abundant. Not a fancy place, but clean and comfortable. No alcohol is served but bringing your own beer is allowed.

For a small town in Western MA, Gohyang really fulfilled my cravings for authentic Korean food. Indoor dining is available, and they even have tables with seats on the floor - akin to seating in traditional Korean restaurants. Next door to the restaurant is a small grocery store with basic Korean/Asian snacks and condiments. The portion sizes were quite generous and the banchan selection was diverse and tasty. We ordered the samgyumpsal kim bap and kimchi pajeon to share. Both were delicious, especially the kim bap! The pork belly was nice and crisp (I believe it was deep fried) and paired with the tanginess of pickled vegetables and umami ssamjang with a crunchy chunk of lettuce for balance. Essentially it was pork belly ssam you find at Korean BBQ rolled up as kimbap - yum! I would definitely come back to have those again. For myself I had the yook gae jang. The broth was rejuvenating, piping hot and SPICY - perfect for my Asian food withdrawal. The meat was a little dry and didn't have the best texture, but the rich broth made up for it. Overall, I still left sweating and stuffed. If you're in the area and craving Korean food, give this hidden gem a visit!!

Everything is made fresh to order from the thick, hand-pulled noodles, dumplings, and scallion pancakes. Ordering is quick and casual. You place your order at the back right counter when you walk in (for dine-in or takeout), and the cashier also acts as your server. If you order a noodle soup, they'll ask if you want green onions and/or cilantro. After that, just grab any open table and relax. We ordered a variety of dishes. Appetizers: Scallion pancakes: (3/5) nice crispy pancakes with scallions. Dumplings with pork and leeks: (3/5) tender dumplings filled with pork and some leeks Spicy stewed beef noodle soup: (4/5) thick hand pulled noodles in a savory broth topped with vegetables like bok choy and mushroom and some tender beef Hot and sour vermicelli soup: (4/5) very tangy savory broth with tender vermicelli noodle and ground pork. Medium spicy level Biang Biang noodles with pork: (4/5) their signature hand-pulled noodles are sautéed in a medium spicy sauce with pork. Overall this place hits the spot for an authentic Chinese meal without the glitz and glamour.

Turns out, that was a very apt description. We arrived and got seated at a table with a very nice curved window view. I can imagine being here on a rainy or snowy day and getting to be surrounded by the weather while not having to get wet. The service was friendly, if mostly absent, and fast. This place mostly loses stars on the food. We had: wonton soup, miso soup, scallion pancakes, crab rangoons, happy family, tangerine chicken, and asparagus and snap peas with shrimp. The wonton soup seemed to be a beef broth soup, interesting change up from any wonton soup I've had before, a little salty and good wontons. The miso soup was also a good miso. The crab rangoons were too sweet and the wrapper too thick, thus making it chewy, but at least you could tell there was something in there beyond just cream cheese. The hunt for good crab rangoons continues. The scallion pancakes were very thick, but at least not greasy. The sauce was punchy and pleasant. The asparagus and snap peas with shrimp was positioned as having a light flavor, and that was very accurate. Almost like they were steamed and then served, but you could see a sauce coating them. The happy family was coated in a brown sauce that didn't carry much flavor either, but nothing was wrong either. The tangerine chicken was listed as one spicy out of three, and I'm happy to report they understand spicy rating. While the broccoli was chopped a tad large, the chicken was cooked very well, and you got just some spice on the back end with sweet on the front. Overall, nothing here was bad, but it also came across and middling. If you asked me to write this review a couple days from now I feel I'd have trouble remembering anything about this place except the window seat. I am willing to try some of the other aspects of the menu some time in the future, but I'm not sending anyone running here either.

Anything we needed anything, they were happy to help. The chef was also very nice but I didn't ask his name. We ordered the Ginger Tea, Seaweed Salad + Gyoza (vegetable dumplings) to start, along with a small rice. The ginger tea is made with fresh ginger and is slightly sweet, the seaweed salad was authentic. The Gyoza were phenomenal; I asked Peter his advice on fried or grilled and he recommended fried. For the main course, we ordered the Fantastic Roll and the Koala Roll which were heavy hitters. 100% recommended. They have sake and are BYOB, big plus! We came back a second time, and I ordered the same thing: veggie gyoza and Fantastic Roll. My friends daughter loved the veggie dumplings just as much as I did. My friend and her daughter shared the sushi meal, and it came with sashimi that they loved. We also tried their chicken teriyaki appetizer and the meal. The appetizer comes with spicy mayo sauce which came on kebab sticks, and were too spicy for the kids but I thought they were perfect. The meal did not have spicy mayo and was sliced on a steaming platter. It was delicious as well, but I personally preferred the appetizer style. Eric and Peter were amazing servers the second time. I'm more than happy to support this local restaurant anytime I'm in town. Everything was extremely fresh, authentic, and larger portions than most places for an amazing price point. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants from now on. You definitely don't want to miss this place.
