The employee behind the counter, a young Asian woman was fantastic. She answered all of my questions and gave me advice on how to plant my new peach tree. She went above and beyond, and even answered questions about other plants I had not purchased from Mimosa Nursery. Mimosa Nursery carries a wide variety of fruit trees and plants. If you've been searching for a specific type of citrus tree, give them a call to see if they have it in stock. I had been looking for a yuzu tree, and this was the only place that had one and it was already 4 feet tall and only $60! Citrus trees are hard to find in Orange County due to quarantine restrictions, and some cities are even banned from purchasing them. I was surprised to discover that Mimosa Nursery not only carries citrus trees but also yuzu specifically. Beyond citrus, they have an impressive selection of other fruit trees as well. I also picked up a 7-gallon Violette de Bordeaux fig tree for $65. While you might find some of these plants cheaper elsewhere, many of the fruit trees here are already fruiting or have been pruned to the size and shape of a tree, which means they are more developed than the typical seedlings sold at lower prices. Service is very straightforward - you're not going to spend half a day chatting it up with them here. I highly recommend checking out Mimosa Nursery if you're on the hunt for a specific fruit tree. I am so so excited that I found this place that sells a variety of jujube trees! Luckily, I came to visit while the trees were fruiting so I was able to try which jujube I liked best. Unfortunately they didn't have the mid range price available for the variety I liked so I got one that was $150. Hoping that it will be worth it and that it will bear lots of fruit! The people working were also very helpful and patient with me while I was deciding. If I had a bigger backyard, I would have gotten so many more trees! read more

Found this place through a reddit search while looking for a yuzu plant. They were the only place locally that I could find that have them and they're one of the few plant nurseries I've ever found with a pretty updated website! It was easy to park once I got here and their selection is HUGE. They have pretty mature trees but they do have younger ones available, really depends what you're looking for. I walked around a bit just in awe of the unique fruits they had, but then after a bit couldn't really find someone to help me. I couldn't find the citruses, but when I finally found some help and asked for yuzu, they actually went to a employee-only area and grabbed a couple yuzu in plant sleeves for me. Asked me which of the two he was holding I liked and I picked and paid right there. He asked if I was planning on planting it in a pot or in ground and when I said pot, he showed me which size I should pot it in and not to go bigger. There were also a couple fruit on the tree, but he said it was old and to just toss them, I figure they were probably left on to show that the tree fruits. He asked if I was potting today and I said within the week and he added a bit of extra soil for me. Would've liked a little more information on caring for it and didn't see if they had any soil available for purchase, but I figured it out on my own. It's been a couple months but the yuzu is still alive and healthy thankfully! Would give them 4.5 but will err towards a 5 since they selection is sooo good and I probably could've gotten more help if I actually asked. read more

They have a huge exotic fruit selection and the staff was very knowledgeable and was able to answer my questions regarding how to take care of it. Their prices are great and they have species that no one else has. Some of their trees are huge and still reasonably priced considering the size. I recommend coming here! read more

When we approached the front desk to place an order for a citrus tree, we were met with rudeness and dismissiveness from the woman working the register--a petite woman of Asian descent. Mid-conversation, she abruptly stopped helping us and chose instead to assist another customer (also of Asian descent) who had a larger order. We were completely disregarded, with no explanation or acknowledgment. As minorities ourselves, it felt especially hurtful and left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected. Whether it was unconscious bias or something else, the experience did not sit right. We came in to support a local nursery and left feeling like we didn't matter. Have been here twice, once last year and once this year. Last year we bought two citrus trees: Eureka Pink Lemonade and the Moro Blood orange. The trees for healthy and beautiful when we purchased. The trees are growing very nicely and flowering this year. They would have been bigger but that's due to our own lack of knowledge and inconsistency with fertilization. This year we went back and we purchased another two trees: the Star Ruby grapefruit and the Fukumoto Navel orange. Guys!! They are so beautiful!! The grapefruit has cute little bulbs on it. We're so excited to have these in our care! The workers there are short and curt but I don't mind that. They were helpful and let us explore and when we were ready, they grabbed our trees out of the green house. read more

Great place to buy mango trees on roots that will grow well in California! They don't ship their mango trees from Florida. The Florida grown varieties on Turpentine rootstock don't generally do well here. All their grafted mangos are on Manila or other seedling rootstock. I called around and Mimosa Nursery is one of the very few that do their own propagation of mangos on Manila rootstock. Nice looking plants! Wide variety of trees. They also sell seedling mangos if you want to graft for a good price. read more

Do I recommend going here? Depends... I got two $35- 5 gallon Pomegranates with one fruit on each. They looked pretty good, yellow leaves- but normal since we are in the first week of October. They are about 3 feet tall and seem like they will survive. I mention that because as you'll see on the receipt: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO GUARANTEE. I also bought a little Pakistani Mulberry for $10. I'm not new to plants and gardening and am fairly familiar with nurseries in the LA/OC area and it was my first time. Possibly not my last, but they will not guarantee a plant to survive like Armstrong Garden's lifetime guarantee or other nurseries. Pomegranate and Mulberries are hard to kill, so I think I'm safe there. They do have a wide selection of roses, medicinal and other rare fruit you can't find anywhere else. The staff was a little short but courteous and I found what I needed. They helped me quickly and I was in and out of there within 10 minutes, and left very pleased. If you need people to be extra informative and customer service oriented, you might need to do some research and go to a chain like Armstrong or H&H in Lakewood. But if you know what you want and know what to look for, I'd say it's one of the best nurseries out there; just keep in mind- no refunds or guarantees. One good thing that other nurseries don't have, is an active site with selections and offerings- as usually this may change with time. I also appreciate how they are very serious about citrus sales within the allowed areas of California. The quarantine is in place for a reason and this nursery follows the restrictions to the letter ! Excellent selection and variety of fruit and citrus, definitely worth a visit if you're looking. Idk how to start this but I like to say and give a big thank you and shout out to Mike at Mimosa Nursery in Anaheim! I've been trying and falling for two years to graft my "blade smith mentor" William Stroman old avocado tree a "don gillogly avocado" to a hass which I purchased from them... I've tried grafting over 10+ times over years that all failed. At one point we even tried an air graft. That only lived a short time after transplant the rooted air graft to a pot. But recently my dear friend passed away. Shortly there after I stoped by Mimosa Nursery in Anaheim to talk to Mike, I just talked to him a couple months ago about grafting (I never thought about asking advice before about grafting until now from people at the nursery ) long story short he got it to stick !!! I was about to cry it was my last shot! I didn't have access to his avocado tree anymore after his move to AZ. It was one of the last things I had from him that is now alive and growing I waited a couple weeks before posting just in case my Not so Green thumb make this successful graft fall too lol ... but it looks like she's growing great!. I live within the quarantine area for citrus, and I was able to text the nursery to confirm my address, availability of citrus plants, and prices . The number I reached is (714) 828-0780, and they were very responsive (within 15 mins). Some reviews mention price gouging. This did not happen to me. I was able to check the prices on the website, and that is the price I paid. There is a great variety of fruit bearing trees here. As soon as I arrived, a man helped me pick a citrus tree. He showed the available trees in the citrus viewing area, provided helpful tips, and helped me safely pack the tree into my sedan. They do accept credit card, so it was a very easy process from start to finish. I will come back for sure. read more

I purchased 2 sought after GEM avocado trees here which are doing well. More recently I purchased a Pinkerton. Was looking for this everywhere! It was in good condition and comparable pricing. I also ended up getting a 15 Gallon Parfianka pomegranate tree. The lady helped me pick out one with the most blooms. I've asked questions ( phone and in person) to both the younger and more mature ladies and did NOT get any attitude. They were knowledgeable and professional and I appreciated their feedback. Last time I was here for the Gem avocado I didn't look around. This time I had some time and was so impressed with their selection. I won't bother with any other nurseries next time and just give them a call to see if they have stock before going there. read more

I was looking for a specific citrus tree (Australian finger lime) and I called a bunch of nurseries in Orange County, LA and inland empire. This was the only nursery that let me know right away that they had it. They grow their citrus trees indoors in an isolated area so they're not affected by the citrus bug that's going around. They don't sell to any address so you will have to check with them if you're allowed to buy from them by giving them your location. The isolated area had a fan that keeps all bugs out and only limited staff can go inside. You can only see the plant from behind the closed glass door before you pick what to buy. The tree seemed like it was in good shape. The dwarf tree we bought even had fruit on it. They had a good variety of fruit trees, berries, and roses. Not much decorative plants and no hanging basket if that's what you're looking for. This seems like a great place to buy fruit trees. read more

This is our second visit and second fruit tree purchase from Mimosa Nursery. We patronize this family-owned business because they have a nice selection of exotic fruit trees. We actually really like their offerings and if this review only focused on product, it would be rated much higher. This is a 2 star review based primarily on the lack of good customer service and the unfriendly/unwelcoming attitude from the personnel. We purchased our second exotic fruit tree from this place yesterday, 8/30/2021. Upon arrival the guy who handled our transaction was not friendly nor welcoming. He seemed to be bothered with dealing with us (we were the only customers at this business during the time we were making our purchase), even though we knew what we wanted and the transaction was quick. He was reluctant to answer any questions and gave only short matter-of-fact answers. Even though the employee seemed to have a bad attitude and made us feel unwelcome, we nonetheless made a $50 purchase from them because we like the product, otherwise we might have just left. A family-owned business like this should go above and beyond to keep customers and get good "word-of-mouth" recommendations. I came here to buy a Kaffir Lime Tree. I looked around for about 10 minutes until I finally decided to ask one of the workers. This rude man never once looked at me and said, "we don't have that." He tried to walk away and I asked him if he knew when they would come in because one of my neighbors bought one there. He said, "no. The growers don't think it's worth it because they aren't very popular so, never." He never looked in my direction! I decided to continue walking around to check out the rest of the trees. Everything here is overpriced. Fruit trees start at about $99. A 3ft Manila mango tree is $225! Probably because, business is slow due to the people that work there driving business away! I wanted to get a lemon tree for the backyard, and due to geographic limitations, it seems like most places close by were not selling them. Since I lived within the quarantine zone, they just checked my DL and sold me a small tree. It was healthy with lots of small lemons already growing. After divorce, Mimosa LA went to the husband & Anaheim to the wife. As previously mentioned, Mimosa has an abundant selection of flowers, landscaping plants & fruit trees. Fruit trees are what I'm interested in, especially the exotic type. Being closer than the LA location, I stopped by one day to check out their stock. Sticker shock! While Mimosa may have competitive prices for the more standard garden options, when it comes to exotic fruit trees - Ouch! Ordering trees online may be a cheaper option, and I'm factoring in shipping! A person can go broke fast while shopping here. On the bright side, Mimosa's selection is diverse, and I have the opportunity to see fruits in person to see if they're something I want to possibly own. Think of it as window shopping. I make up my mind as to what I want and I buy the tree for a better price somewhere else that's a little farther. Parking is via a private lot. Mimosa Anaheim is a great place to check out subtropical/tropical fruit trees, but I don't recommend actually making purchases here, as the prices are quite high. Laguna Hills Nursery in nearby Santa Ana may be a preferable alternative, if you can't make it to Mimosa LA or Champa Nursery in LA County. read more

Not sure why the reviews are so bad. I was here a few months ago to pickup a Calamansi citrus tree which they posted on Craigslist. Was greeted by the owner and I told him what I was looking for. He guided me to the quarantine tent where all the citrus trees were. Told me to wait behind a fence while he grabbed a few and held them up and allowed to me choose which one I wanted. After picking my tree, he went over on why it was quarantined, and how these trees were treated and to repot them in a larger pot as soon as I can. Answered all my questions and didn't give me any attitude. Very friendly and would be back. The tree were a lot taller than any other trees I found and very similar in price. They're pretty busy so you may not feel you get the customer service you might at slower locations, but overall I enjoyed my trip and will come back for other hard to find greenery. read more
