Oscar was so patient so knowledgeable. He knew the answer to every question I asked. They tend to have items I can't find at other local competitors which is a main reason I always go back. I recently discovered this nursery. They have a fantastic selection of both common plants/trees and those which are unusual and difficult to find. - I only wish I had found them before. Rude Told me to take my business elsewhere. The ole man/owner had nothing better to do than watch me choose my plants. He claimed I would pick up and if I didn't want it I would put back anywhere which is not correct. Former retail and I know the frustrations of having to put go backs back where they belong. After watching my brother load up on herbs at Stephen's Market, I asked why he doesn't try growing his own? I personally grow almost all the herbs I use, along with as many vegetables that I can on my patio. It's way cheaper, it's convenient, and I know where my food is coming from. He said he had never thought about it, so I asked if there was a nursery near his house. He said RV Nursery was a couple blocks from his house, so we headed on over. He decided to start small and just try to grow cilantro for now. Luckily, they had it. The girl working said that they don't have a large selection of herbs right now, but in the coming weeks they will have more. I saw loads of different types of tomatoes, squash, zucchini, chives, basil, and cilantro on the table she pointed us to. I ended up picking up two nice zucchini plants, that actually have two plants in each container. We took my two plants and my brother's cilantro up and I asked how much it would be, I figured probably $9 or $10. Only $3!!! Fantastic! We actually went to Home Depot afterwards to buy him some soil and a pot and the veggies/herbs there were almost $4 each! Loved this place. They have a huge lot, tons of flowers, trees, and all kinds of plants. I will definitely go back soon and check out everything they have, and see what veggies/herbs they get in for the summer. For a small nursery section that didn't have a lot of house plants but made up for in selections. Out of the nurseries I went to today, they was the only place that had this type of succulent. And on top of that when I asked for military discount they hooked it up. The workers was nice and helpful. As a woman who owns her own business I know how important it is to have integrity and hard workers. This nursery has both, and more! I have given this nursery SO MUCH business and today the owner or this older man who I have never really seen came up to my friend and I and basically yelled us for switching plants that we were both purchasing. Terrible family business. The daughter is in the front eating all the time and rudely talking with her mouth full and she picks up terrible social skills from her mom who is hardly ever around but has the audacity to yell at people and wish them bad health and bad karma. The boyfriend or brother in the front working is a little whimp as well and let them talk over him because they both are practically yelling and more than anything they aren't on the same page saying different things all at once. They would not let us speak what so ever and are just flat out rude please I beg that when you read this review you go to the nursery across the street because they don't deserve the good fortune and others do. They are racist and will cuss you out with a mouth full of food 0/10 worst place ever. Would not recommend to my friends, family, and colleagues and I would spend thousand of dollars here.! Sadly, when the owner thinks his plants are more important than his customers, it's time to shop elsewhere. I was a frequent customer for many years at this family run business, but not anymore. The whole family is wonderful, except the older man who identified himself as the owner. Last Friday, he yelled at me for moving his plants. Yes, I moved them aside into two flats in order to purchase them and explained it as such. His explosive anger was totally unjustified and unreasonable as he accused me of touching his plants and told me to go elsewhere. Does he have mental issues or something? I also noticed he targets Asians. Well, My daughter and I simply left. We will go elsewhere. Horrible rude customer service. NO ONE should be treated this way. RV Nursery staff are very attentive and hospitable. Even on a busy weekend with 2-3 staffers, they made sure everyone was taken care of and they were available for any questions. Also the price was much CHEAPER WITH BETTER SELECTION than Martinez Nursery (across the street), almost 40% LESS than what I paid at Martinez Nursery of the same plant. Also, the way they arranged the plants in the lot, is very organized. If you're driving by RV Nursery, they may not look adequate as all the big lush trees and plants are in the back so they may seem meager compared to Martinez Nursery but they are not. They provide great attentive service and price. If you stop by Martinez first, then stop by RV Nursery to compare before purchasing. You may save a great deal of money. read more

Nothing beats a large variety of beautiful succulents and cacti at $1 a small pot! The first time I stopped by, I was greeted with one last tray of sad succulents/cacti. Fortunately, the guy informed me that there would be a new arrival coming that very weekend. (New arrivals are every other Sunday!) I came back the following Monday and was beyond ecstatic when I saw the abundance of variety and quantity! I spent a good half hour debating what to get since they were all grown so healthy and beautifully. If you are looking to build a succulent/cacti terrarium or just love gardening, RV nursery has a great selection of everything. I looked for a place to buy cacti for a terrarium and RV nursery was one of the few places that popped up on my yelp search. There is a HUGE selection of succulents and cacti here. From life size ones to ones that are smaller than half your palm they have it all! I paid a dollar for each of the smallest kinds of succulents and it looks like on yelp there are a few that actually match that price. I was just lucky that this place was close to where I was at the time. I highly suggest coming here for the rad selection. read more

I was followed around and reading other reviews, it seems they have a habit of following Asian people around the store and giving them a hard time. It is baffling that this is happening and I don't know how this place has so many good reviews. I cannot support a business that targets POC and would rather take my business elsewhere.
