We waited about 45 minutes between 3 courses which was just too long. They didn't sell the food so there was nothing to get excited about. The courses we had were tasteless (fagottini, shrimp, etc.). I understood this to be a fine dining option (?)but it seemed they were playing at being a fine dining establishment. Severely disappointed especially when I spent one of my two nights in Florence at this place. All-in we were here for 2.5 hours for 3 very insignificant dishes and our wine wasn't refreshed, etc. it was "lonely" to be honest. Came here for the buffet breakfast 7-10:30. The servers were incredibly nice and gracious. The food was good, hard boiled eggs, assortment of cold cuts, cheese, pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc... The owner was so sweet to make my kids a hot chocolate, with foam, and a pretty design on top. The decor of the place is amazing, straight out of a restoration hardware catalogue. I've been in Florence for a few days now and I can't stop thinking about this restaurant. Omg. The atmosphere is 10/10, the service is 15/10, and the food is 20/10. When I planned this trip I was really scared of not being able to find great vegan meals since there's cheese basically seeping out of the walls in Italy. But Konnubio showed me otherwise. Our two servers were incredible. Very nice, attentive, and helpful. The lollypop tofu with teriyaki sauce is SO DELICIOUS. They also brought out a basket of breads at the beginning, tofu in creamed vegetables in the middle, and little vegan friendly biscuits at the end of our meal. Everything was just amazing. I'm so glad I found this place on Yelp and stopped in. The prices and portions are great, too. We left stuffed. I can't really speak for the non-vegan menu items but I'm sure they're equally delicious. If you're looking for a great dining experience, definitely come here. read more

We went for dinner on a Tuesday evening and contrary to comments here, they did not have a separate vegan menu. They offered one salad, one pasta, and a very pricey Seitan burger. It was not the prices that turned us off, but rather the very limited options. (We didn't come to Italy to eat burgers.) For the vegans: I went for lunch and there was only one thing on the menu that was vegan and that sounded awful from the description, crispy seitan in broth. Pretty ridiculous considering their menu and advertising has the word 'vegan' everywhere. They could at least have one pasta without eggs. Excellent breads (freshly baked), appetizer, main course (I had the parmesenia vegan and my husband enjoyed his Golden cod with red sauce). We enjoyed our complementary champagne and a white Pinot Grigio house wine. Lastly, we squeezed in some dessert (rice milk custard type of dessert --vegan) and it was also delicious. The place, which is in a great location is beautiful, high ceilings, nice background music, and very comfortable. The setting and out table up front on the sofas is exquisite. The food was fantastic. One in our party was Vegan, loved everything about it and can't wait to come back. My pasta was excellent and my wife's tuna was simply amazing. The bartender and hostess who great you at the door with champagne or mimosas make you feel at home and happy. Our waiter was very, very friendly and very attentive and accommodating. My husband and I ate at Konnubio while in Florence on our honeymoon. It was by far the best dining experience we had in Italy. The decor caught our eye when we walked by one day, and we stepped in to make a reservation. While making our reservation, the manager was incredibly welcoming, and gave us prosecco and cookies for free. When we arrived for dinner, they had reserved the best table in the restaurant for us. We had several waiters, who brought us more free prosecco, helped us choose a bottle of wine, and made dinner suggestions. I have never had such good service. Yes, dinner was pricey. But the staff made my husband and I feel like celebrities. It has been a month since we ate at Konnubio and we are still raving about it! read more

We decided to try this place based on a review on Eater. Eater came through as always! This was our favorite meal in Florence, and I think our favorite meal of our whole Italy trip. The menu was pretty large with a nice assortment of fish, meat, vegetarian, and even VEGAN dishes! It was so nice to have so many awesome options. Everything was amazing, starting with the amuse. It was an eggplant cream with a little bite of fish and some potato chips. It was really good. Then they brought out 4-5 types of homemade breads (including a delicious focaccia and a little cheesy bread ball...so good!). My husband was in heaven. We had 2 starters, 2 pastas, and an entree. They were all delicious. One starter was super creative. It was a pea cappuccino, which was a riff on breakfast. There was a plate with a cappuccino cup that had an amazing pea soup and then there was a little croissant and prosciutto sandwich next to it. The pastas were some of the best we've had on this trip. The gnocci pretty much melted in your mouth. The meal ended with this super cute plate of 5 mini desserts which were each delicious. My husband wants to sign up for a tripadvisor account just to rate this place and say it deserves 10 stars! :) (actually he was at 100 by the end of the meal). The service was also excellent. I'm a major foodie as well as part time resident of Florence. I can't speak to the vegan aspect (they definitely do not focus on that, thank goodness!), but I can tell you this place is consistently great and offers some of the best food you will find in a city inundated with touristy mediocre (and often much worse) restaurants. I do personally prefer their lunch menu to dinner (lunch has more traditional dishes; dinner a bit more creative) but everything I've ever tried here has been excellent (and we've eaten here many, many times). I suspect most of the less than stellar reviews on this site are written by travelers who don't really know food -- and certainly not authentic Italian cuisine. It's a shame that their ignorance brings down the rating of a chef who truly cares about his patrons, be they tourists or not. So many in Florence don't give a hoot as they know you'll never be back again. Keep up the good work, Konnubio. Just please consider adding some of your amazing lunch menu dishes to the dinner menu, especially in the pasta category. read more

But the drinks are good, both in the main bar and in the patio area a few doors down. 5€ for a spritz or negroni during happy hour is a decent deal, and the staff is very friendly. The best meal and the best service we had while we were in Florence (for 6 days!) My husband and I are not only food, but also atmosphere "snobs." We had just slipped out of a new restaurant that got great reviews because the atmosphere was stuffy and uncomfortable. We snuck out the back door before the waiter came to take our order and stumbled right upon Konnubio. Right away, I could tell the ambiance was exactly what I was looking for: dim, warm lighting, eclectic design and young people! We waited only a few minutes (much less than waits we experience in Detroit for a good meal) and were greeted unexpectedly with Prosecco. Our waiter, Luis, was energetic and knowledgable. He suggested a bottle of wine that my husband continued to request at other locations throughout our vacation. I highly recommend the bacon-wrapped filet as well as the truffle tagliatelle! I gave Luis free reign to choose our dessert and it was excellent. He also brought us a surprise digestivo.. Creamy limoncello.. Which my husband.. tipsy from wine.. coined as "creamoncello" :) Konnubio was a great experience for our first night in Florence. I wish I could say we ended our trip with a bang, but in this case, we started with one! We will have to come back! read more

Very disappointed in this place. We don't mind spending a little extra for small portions if the food is right, which was definitely not the case. Ordered the wild salmon, which was 27 euros, unfortunately it was overcooked and very dry. Salmon is very simple, but has a small window of time where you can easily overcook it. For a place that holds itself high enough to charge almost 30 euros for 2 very small pieces of salmon, I would have expected it to be at least cooked CORRECTLY! I have made better salmon at home! In the front of the menu it lists the "team" and the special chef they have that evening..that's how special this place is supposed to be. This chef doesn't know how to cook salmon?! Needless to say I was very disappointed. Do not charge 27 euros if you do not know how to cook it. Presentation was nice and the ambience is nice too, that is what the 1 star is for. read more

I work in the food industry and have eaten in some amazing restaurants over the years, but I have a new favorite -- Konnubio. From the moment we walked in for the first time Stefano and the rest of the staff treated us like old friends. Our experiences (we stopped in twice in three days), are among the best memories of a fabulous eight-day trip celebrating our 30th anniversary. The Florentine steak was fabulous! Wow. I've been to vegan restaurants and varying degrees of vegan friendly restaurants in many cities, and Konnubio is truly top notch. While eating vegan in Italy isn't impossible, pizza without cheese can get repetitive. Enter Konnubio. It's Tuscan food, done creatively and superbly. I ordered the seitan dish, which consisted of crispy seitan and a delicious legume soup. I soaked up every last bit of the soup with the (wonderful) bread. My table and I also shared the sauteed spinach, which was, in a word, perfect. Another person at my table ordered the pasta with celery sauce, which I would have ordered if I returned. I had a baked plum dessert, which was beautifully presented and sincerely incredible. They gave us welcome glasses of prosecco, and I also had a glass of Chianti. I love the decor and ambiance, too! For the quality of food, I was expecting it to be much more expensive! Service was excellent as well. I would buy their cookbook in a heartbeat if they ever published one. read more

Our dinner at Konnubio was our first dinner at a restaurant in Italy. Thanks to Happy Cow, it was easy to find this restaurant that was very vegan friendly. The environment was beautiful and inviting. The service was top notch; we really loved the person behind the bar who welcomed us and gave us a lovely wine while we waited for our table. It wasn't a long wait, and we felt well taken care of during that time. Our waiter was awesome, and we felt like he really cared about our experience. I had the tofu croquettes in a pumpkin cream sauce. I appreciated that the waiter clarified what the dish entailed, as I would have expected something different based on the description in the menu. My dish was delicious, and I would order it again....although it was not life-altering. My husband loved his scallop dish, but again it was not life altering. One of our favorite dishes was a vegan ice cream/cake dessert - It was absolutely delicious and unique. We will return to Florence some day, and we will surely go back to Konnubio. Maybe by then, it will be all vegan. I can only hope! read more
