We went yesterday! 2 adults and we had a great time. As an adult, you can participate in all of the activities, except maybe the tiny "cow" cars pulled by a tractor (but only because you probably can't fit). We had lunch, enjoyed the hayride, jumped on the huge inflatable pillow (better than a trampoline), spent time in the larger corn maze, and petted the animals in the petting zoo. The only thing missing is a gift shop, but that's better for my wallet, anyway. I don't miss a haunted house, either. My 12 year old was yelled at by Mr. Bob while trying to help his 3 year old sister onto the cow ride. There were 3 seats still open and he yelled at him I guess because he had been there for 10 minutes already. How were we suppose to know how long he had been there? We walked over and there were seats open and my daughter wanted to ride..... we have gone here for several years at Halloween time usually at least twice around that time.... today we went for the summer Wednesdays that they do.... don't think we will be back.... rather spend our money somewhere that treats people with respect and especially understand kids at a kids function read more

Great for kids but not much for adults who also love this time of year. Wish there was more food choices. Food that they have is average at best. Overall a good time if you have or go with kids. This children's corn maze was fantastic! I took my special education classroom here for a field trip in October. The staff members answered my many questions beforehand. On the day of the field trip, the children got to explore the grounds, feed/pet farm animals, ride on a train/tractor ride, climb on the straw playground, play in the corn pit, pick a pumpkin, and eat lunch on picnic benches. Konow's Corn Maze has exciting, interactive activities for the children to participate in! Plus, even though it was raining, it stayed open and the staff members stayed friendly. The train/tractor ride was closing but they did one more ride for my students. We can't wait to go back again! read more

This is a great place to add to your must go to for Fall Festivities. There are plenty of pumpkins to choose from, plenty of things to keep the children amused, as well as a couple of train rides. The only thing to be cautious about is the corn kernel pits. With the lack of supervision by employees, there were several bigger kids, even adults, throwing kernels around and children swinging off the tent support beams into the tent. After 5 minutes of my child enjoying it, I decided it was enough time spent in there. read more

This is for all you engaged couples out there looking for a wedding venue. The majority of our wedding experience was a positive one. The venue looked beautiful and you have access to it very early in the day to set up. But I do have to raise the point of the issue of lapse in security for the event. In our meetings prior to the event, my wife expressed how important it was that certain people were not to be allowed to enter the facility for our wedding, photos were provided. It was expressed to us that the on-premise security provided by Zachary's Red Barn would be sufficient. Needless to say, this was not the case. Furthermore, had we known so, we would have sought additional security measures on our own to handle the situation. The major problem I have with this is the question: what if this had in fact been an issue of safety? Not only did one of the people to be restricted enter the venue, they managed to walk directly up to my wife without issue. If said person had the intention of violence, we would have a VERY serious issue on our hands. Thank goodness that was not the case. I will acknowledge that they personally apologized profusely for the issue, however the security guy made excuses that did not sit well with us as we really can't do anything with an excuse. "There are x amount of acres to watch, do you expect me to watch all of them?" Yes, I do. When he asked "am I supposed to stop every senior citizen that walks in?" The answer is no, you are not supposed to stop every senior citizen that walks in, you are supposed to stop the one senior citizen of which you had a photograph. She did not sneak in through the corn field or drop in from the roof, she walked right in through the front door. There will always that memory of having to see my bride cry because of how upset she was over everything on our wedding day. We don't get a do-over. That is something I have a very hard time assigning a dollar value as her happiness is priceless to me. Upon emailing back and forth with the venue they tried throwing snobby responses back at us making excuses for everything. Something about our 'snooping guests' by the house on the property? But if security had once again done their job that wouldn't have been an issue. Also they don't provide help for the rehearsal they simply greeted us and said 'I have to go.' After being chased down by my mom she came back and helped us. OH AND DON'T USE THEIR RECOMMENDED CATERER. (Pelonia Catering) read more

First: no public restrooms, only port-a-potties. Other than that, this was a pretty well thought-out place, with lots of different fun events for families. We didn't even get to the corn maze, hay rides, hay bale playground, or cow cars; the kids (toddlers) had a blast with the bouncy pillow thing, the petting zoo, the "treehouse", climbing and rolling loose pumpkins around, and their favorite: huge livestock tanks filled to the brim with corn kernels to play in. Actual restrooms and more benches for tired parents/grandparents would have bumped this up to a five-star review for me. We visited Konow's Corn Maze just 2 days ago. We have a 3 year old daughter and I thought for little kids, it was tons of fun and good value for the admission. My daughter LOVED the "cow train" , went on it twice, and is still talking about it! The corn pit and petting zoo were also big hits. I think this place would be great for kids up to about age 7; older kids might be bored. As others have said, Konow's does not have the animated displays, multiple food stands, pig races, etc. of their competitor in Homer Glen. However- it is much less crowded, less expensive, and more relaxing. There were plenty of people there when we visited, but minimal lines. I appreciated that absolutely all of the activities were included in the admission price. Also the food, while nothing special, was also very reasonably priced ($1 for popcorn, $3 for hamburger). read more

This place might be fun for your children but don't ever book a party there. No one answers the phone until they open end of Sept. when you do get contact, there is no contract to sign which gives them the opportunity to change the quoted price once you and your guests arrive. Record your phone conversation! We were told to call one week prior to give head count. No one answers the phone or your email ever! When we got there our room was trashed from a previous party. They were clearly annoyed that we asked them to clean the room and our guests were already there waiting while they did. They quoted us a price per person to include pizza. When we got there they said pizza was extra @ $20 per pizza. This was a huge difference in price. Beware!! Very unprofessional, unorganized and rude treatment by the staff. read more

Who needs Bengtson's when you've got this hidden gem just around the corner? Konow's is entertaining for kids and adults, from infants to grandparents, and it is very affordable. The grounds are beautiful and make a pretty backdrop for pictures. The pumpkin train was lots of fun and is very scenic. The kids loved the corn pit and the hay playground. Adults, I think, had more fun on the jumping pillow than the kids did. We even got to see 13 piggies that were born that very morning. Workers are very friendly. Love having this farm right in my own backyard. Wonderful place to take your family. Guaranteed a great time. read more

Great fun for families, especially toddlers. There are so many options of things to do and it's all included - not like other places that charge an extra $2 for the train, etc. The activities are great and exactly what we wanted on an 80 degree Oct day. If it was colder we may have gone to a place that had hot cider, donuts, etc. There's not really a food or gift area, which again was perfect. No cheesy gimmicks - just fun! We will come again next year since the inflatable pillow, corn kernel pit, hay stack playground and cow train were so much fun and we got great pictures. read more

This place is corntastic!! At first glance I was concerned we weren't going to have fun because on a Sunday early afternoon in late October the place was swamped and we had to wait a good 10 minutes in line just to get onto the premises. We waited about half an hour for the cow train and by that time we'd waited so long even my mom squeezed into her own cow car and the ride itself was just ridiculous fun! The driver even stopped to let us pick up my two-year-old's hat that had blown off her head. We had a good hot dog lunch, spent some time on the air pillow and ran around the children's corn maze - which, frighteningly, spat us out of the adult corn maze, so the two must connect (parents, beware). My daughter spent about a half hour doing the breast stroke through the giant corn pit and swimming up to say hi to various kids. We were worn out afterwards and can't wait for another trip next year. It was so much fun I will take a day off work next year to go on a week day when it's less crowded. read more

We went on an early afternoon and waited for over a half-hour for someone to decide to show up to give a long line of waiting people a hay ride. read more

This place was fantastic. Sure, it was a little crowded, but that just added to the electric atmosphere!! The corn maze was fantastic, the staff was amazingly personable for having to handle large crowds all day, and the best part was, I was able to bring my dog (who loved the corn maze, although initially was very confused)! I don't have a family, but spending a day with my girlfriend and my dog at this wonderful place was really something special!! read more

I think what's nice about Kownow's is that it is great for the "under 6 crowd". There are places for the little ones to play and tumble, and they really don't need all the hype and scary stuff at some of the bigger places. I hope they never change because it is such an appropriate kind of fun for the younger kids! read more

This place ROCKS!!!! Such a neat place to take your little ones... We have a 3 year old (girl) and this place was a definite favorite for her! The atmosphere was very warm and it felt very festive! The BIG hit in my daughters eyes was the HUGE circular pit filled with billions of kernels of corn! She played in that pit for at least 45 minutes! Really cool! They had a lot of active things for the little ones to do and enjoy. Everything was spaced out well and the price of admission covered everything you could do inside. We've been to 2 pumpkin festivals this year so far and they have BOTH been awesome! They both were very different too (Bengtson's Pumpkin Farm was the other one). Well worth the money! Enjoy! GO to BOTH of the pumpkin festivals if you can! We went during the week days and the crowds were very low and easy to manage with our little one! Such a wonderful time of the year! read more

***Please keep in mind that this is a party rating....DO NOT have a birthday party at Konow's!!! We had my childs party here and while the event worked out well in the end it was nerve racking in the moments leading up to the party. I was able to secure a spot at the beginning of the month, but when I called 1 1/2 weeks before the party to get more information and final count of my attendees, I DID NOT receive a call back. I left at least 2 message almost every day in the week before the party and still did not hear back. I then sent an email a few days before the party,...NO RESPONSE. I ended up driving almost 1/2 hr. to Konow's on the night before the party. When I arrived, and finally spoke with whom I believe was the manager, they could not give me any explanation as to why I did not get a call back and stated "that they were returning calls" to which I replied that I did not get any call, they then stated that the person that takes care of party reservations had just left so that is why I had not received a call or email reply and that they were too busy to do that. On the day of the party I arrived early to set up, and asked for the same person for direction on what was needed to done. When they finally came and met me (an employee was kind enough to find them for me), they accused me of telling her employees that they did not return calls and asked that I not do that because she/he did not want them to hear that. Not sure where that came from, but I found that very unprofessional. They then proceeded to ask me where I was told I was going to have the venue, and if I knew which tent I was in (I'm sorry I thought that was information that they needed to provide to me)....it was just confusing and nerve racking! Someone did come and remove garbage that was left in the tent from a previous party and the young women at the concession stand were very kind when delivering a food order that we had placed. Konow's is a wonderful family venue if you have never visited, and I encourage you to do so, as everything really is included in the price, but I do not recommened scheduling a party here, and wish I had read a previous comment that I found after I did not receive a call back. read more

great place for all ages..make sure you go into the corn pit...sooo cool although the parking lot was pretty full, once you actually get into the place, everything is so spread out that there does not seem like that many people. the one draw back is not enough garbage cans...people were leaving there garbage where ever because a garbage can was not near them. also not enough places to sit...more seating would be great! great prices for food and drinks, so much for the kids to do. read more

Cute friendly animals introduce kids to livestock, nice selection of items in the store. Little ones love the corn pit, the bounce pillow, and the straw pile. We love this place so much! It's been two years since we were here last and it is better and more beautiful than ever. Thoughtful additions like music (wow, even great bands that suit a wide variety of taste) in a heated tent, a fire pit and an indoor bar in the barn. A nice way to end a chilly afternoon/ evening.We love that this place is also open until 8pm which feels like real value for money also. One of the highlights of Konows for us is that the staff are always helpful and friendly. The food, drinks and pumpkins are cheap compared to the other places also. It feels good to NOT be ripped off at these kinds of places, right?? Konows actually seems to take great pride in what they are doing. Everything is also clean, even the toilets!! It's not just about making money for these folks. Everyone visiting there was having a terrific time today despite cold weather. It's wonderful to have options for both indoor and outdoor activities which most other pumpkin places do not have. It is the best pumpkin / activity farm out of all of them in my opinion. No caged animals to feel sorry for, just a few genuine farm animals that rotate some time in the barn and fantastic attractions for the kids. No horrible and cruel pig races to cringe to. The giant corn pit is indoors with picnic tables for the grown-ups to relax, outdoor mini-tractors for the kids to ride, straw bale climbing structures, hayrides, corn mazes to suit younger or older kids and of course the amazing jumping pillow, This place is a hidden gem. Food is basic hot dogs, pizza etc but all reasonably priced. Once again, charming staff in the cafe also. We have shopped around at several pumpkin places over the past three years and this is the one that is LEAST like a cheesy theme park but yet has more than enough to do for the kids (6 year old twins) Konows stays true to a traditional farming environment and respects nature / it's animals. That speaks volumes in itself. Nice work Konows! We would love to see some healthy food options in your cafe if possible? I feel that we are done shopping around. We have gone to Bengston's for many years. Decided to try something different as Bengston's is always so crowded. When I checked out the website, the price was listed as $10 per person on the weekends, which is quite a bit of a price difference when you consider the amount of people we had going. I live on the north side of Chicago, my brother lives in Georgia(in town visiting) and my mother lives in Homewood. So it was a bit of a trip for all of us to meet up here. We had coupons for $1 off admission as well. My mother paid cash for our group. No receipt was given at the time of purchase, just a paper that listed the price of each ticket. The price was listed as $12/person. That is the amount she recalls paying. In the chaos of our group which included a number of toddlers, my mom did not look at what she paid per person until she got home later that day. We should have been charged $9/person because we had the coupon. They overcharged her by $3/person. Where did they get this random $12 price??? This is not listed on the website anywhere. Is someone pocketing the money??? My mom called to let Konow's know she was grossly overcharged. She was told to bring in her receipt for a refund and if she did not have a receipt, she could have free passes. First of all, she was not given a receipt. Secondly, it took all of us over an hour to get there. Most of our group is going back to their home in Georgia, so 6 free passes really does not interest us. My mom told the lady on the phone that she brought her family who do not live in town. The reply was "oh". Management at Konow's should be investigating what employees are charging patrons. They should be training them on providing proper receipts. I am sure most of their guests do not live in the farm fields of Homer Glen and can just drop by to be issued a refund. So they must be laughing all the way to the bank. Obviously, had we checked the ticket price and realized we overpaid while we were there, this could have been avoided. This was an expensive lesson to learn. However, we will not be going back to Konow's where service seems to be quite shady. read more
