My girlfriend and I were craving Filipino food before doing some shopping in Camarillo, and this place completely exceeded our expectations. We ordered the Tapsilog ($15), Chicken Adobo with Pancit and Puto ($15), Shanghai ($5), and a can of Calamansi juice ($3). Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We were also offered a sample of their atchara, which paired perfectly with both the tapa and chicken adobo. It was so good that it elevated the entire meal. The customer service was warm and welcoming, reminding me of being with my own family. Everyone was friendly, and the food came out quickly despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon. We visited around 1:00 PM on a Sunday and found it to be a great time to come after the main lunch rush. There is outdoor seating behind the restaurant and in front and while the sounds of the nearby freeway were present, the atmosphere still gave us beachside vibes and made for a relaxing meal. Very cute mom-and-pop shop and a hidden gem in Camarillo. I've driven by it many times and never realized it was there. The pricing is fair, portions are generous, and overall the food was good. As a fellow Filipino, I would love to see a little more variety on the menu since it currently focuses on the basics. From a business standpoint, especially considering the location and customer base, I understand keeping things simple. The both the chicken bbq and beef short ribs were marinated well. Definitely filipino style as it is very banana ketchup forward. They also offer great daily specials. Please note waits can be long when they're busy. However, the food is so good it's well worth it. Well, I'll be damned. This place saved me a drive to Oxnard for foods. I was in town for a couple weeks and had been craving Filipino food, but my lazy ass didn't want to drive to Oxnard after hitting all the bowls. It's either to-go or outdoor dining in the front or in the back. You order at the window and wait for your food (cooked to order). The young lady at the counter was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the tapsilog (Filipino marinated beef) served with garlic rice, fried egg, vinegar based sauce, and puto (Filipino rice based sweet dessert). We also ordered the ube crinkles. These should have a slightly hard crispy exterior and soft inside. Unfortunately, the inside was also hard. That means they are not fresh. Too bad. I was craving some Filipino food after shopping at the outlets. So glad I found this spot to try. The building looks like an old drive thru food spot but you can't use the road anymore (they blocked it). Thankfully there's a lot of seating at the front where you order and at the back where there is a few tables/bench seating. This was also good option for us because this space allowed us to eat while ensuring our dog had some outside time. We decided to order lumpia Shanghai, pancit plate, longsilog plate, and chicken bbq plate. The worker who helped me was friendly and quick. The best thing we had was the garlic rice. It was so good! It had all the garlic flavor I was wanting. The longanisa was cooked well and the rice cake was soft and moist. The pancit was good; I was hoping for a little more soy sauce and vinegar flavor but still very enjoyable. My husband had the chicken bbq and he really liked it. He finished it all! Found this place driving through Cam and always noticed that there were people waiting which seemed like a good sign. I waited a while for my bbq chicken plate but it was worth the wait. The rice I got was a little dry but for me the rice is mostly filler. Everything else was great. Great portion size as I was stuffed after. It's the same to go boxes you get from Chinese fast food resto. I got 2 scoops of white rice, pansit, 1 puto, and 2 strips of short ribs (each was cut into 3 small pieces). The short ribs were overcooked - they're kinda hard and the flavor was just ok. The Pansit and the lumpia are really good. The ube crinkles are dry. I am so happy we have this spot in Camarillo and that they are serving up stellar Filipino food for all to try. My review was somewhere between 4-5 stars but bumped them up to a 5 because the service was super friendly, the food delicious, and good sized portions! Our only critique is the lumpia seemed to need a little more of a pork/meat flavor or ratio. We couldn't put our finger on it - everyone enjoyed the lumpia but noted needing to give them another try as it was missing something. I always like their food and their hospitality. I feel so lucky that Camarillo has something so stellar in their downtown. A much needed addition and I've been so happy to see lines everytime I drive by. I came on a Sunday at opening and there was already a crowd, I love this for them. My friend and I ordered and were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait time. I honestly don't think this is bad at all, especially if you are downtown sipping beers across the street or browsing the local businesses. The staff taking our order was a younger gentlemen and he was very friendly and got our order taken down correctly. Staff seemed organized and efficient. I like that they call your name out opposed to a number system, so much easier so love that! Prices are fair. It's homemade, freshly cooked Filipino food. It's hard to find another place comparable in the area and again, I felt the portion sizes were very nice. Maybe only upgrade would make a lumpia serving 4 instead of 3? I only say that because if you are sharing the side of lumpia you only get 1 1/2. Otherwise the bowls/plates were very generous. I couldn't finish my entire short rib plate so I'd say it's a good value. The short rib plate I had was very very tasty! I've also had their chicken adobo in the past and liked that a lot. The short rib is my favorite so far though as the meat was tender and I liked the mild light sauce. Pancit was delicious and the white rice could have used a little garlic but it was still tasty and a great side accompanied by the veggies. Lola Betty's did not disappoint!! On the first day, I ordered the Chicken Adobo and BBQ Chicken. Both plates were just pure perfection. The chicken adobo was tender, flavorful, and just fell off the bone. The sauce on the chicken just melted into the rice. The pancit was great and the BBQ Chicken was tasty. The very next day, I went back again. That's how good it was. Even though I get very sad when the chicken adobo is not on the menu because it sells out, it gives me a chance to try other things that are just as good! First time trying this place. Ordered from a delivery service which I know isn't always the best (I did pay the small extra fee for priority delivery) but everything came hot and fresh. They even put tamper evident stickers on the boxes for safety. Ordered a beef short rib plate and chicken bbq plate with extra side order of beef short ribs and bbq chicken and it was a lot of food! The ribs are tender and the chicken isn't dry. The pancit is also on point. The lumpia are perfectly crispy and delicious. My first time here cute little spot downtown Camarillo, old town. I really didn't know how to order the menu is tiny. You can barely see it. The windows are tinted. I ordered a pancit bowl and I asked for some pork meat. They removed it off a skewer and placed it in my bowl. The reason why I put the stars so low is because I didn't realize that I paid a lot of money for a bowl of Pancit that didn't have any meat in it or any vegetables in it pork or anything. I have eaten Pancit in the past many times in many places even home made by friends and it had pieces of pork in it. The pancit I ate today had nothing in it. It was just plain pasta pieces. As a person who can appreciate Filipino food, it was great news to hear that an eatery opened up in the Camarillo area. Situated in Old Town and right across from Topa-Topa brewery, this seems like an ideal place for a new food joint place to venture. Now my first experience here at LBK was during their first week of existence. I arrived here at 2pm and was unfortunately informed they had sold out of all their dishes except the BBQ pork or chicken bowl; no lumpia, no beef, no pancit. As disappointing as it was, I was glad for LBK that there was a such a demand for their food that they "successfully" ran out. What settled for was the BBQ skewers. The unpleasant part of the order is that it took over 30-minutes to receive a bowl that contained: 1 1/2 scoops of rice, 1/2 scoop of pancit, and 2 pork skewers that seemed to have been split in half from 1 bigger skewer. Perhaps they were still low on supply of food and felt to provide smaller portions just to satisfy customers; for $17, the quantity to dollar ratio did not match up. That being said, the flavors of the pork and pancit were on point. The flavors matched a good Filipino BBQ protein, I only with there had been more for the amount of money spent. Seating can be limited so I took my bowl across the street and matched it with a Topa-Topa brew. Hopefully LBK will solve their inventory of food so no customer will be limited to their dishes and the amount of time it takes to get the order to the customer. The few negative issues will not stop me from coming back to LBK because I saw they were doing the best possible and that they are a representation of Filipino flavor that is lacking in Camarillo. read more

I had to order one of my favorites to try and that is the Kalbi ribs. These ribs were unique in a really good way. I'm not exactly sure what kind of glaze they use, but I'm a fan! I don't say this lightly, but they were the best Kalbi ribs I ever tried. They are even better than the ones I make. I would love to know what that glaze is, so if anyone knows, let me know! Moving on, the pancit was yummy too and the rice was well... Rice. I knew I had to get the Ube Crinkles to try as well. My first impression was that there was a lot of heft to this container. They packed it full! The short rib itself was thinly sliced, bone in and tossed with their BBQ sauce. This made it a little messy, and less pleasurable, to eat. The sauced up meat tasted great, full of flavor and the meat was tender enough. The hands-on affair, fork and knife won't do it here, was less and less enjoyable as I navigated around the thinly sliced bone in each piece. Also to mention, the fat ratio was pretty high in each piece. The sauce made it worthwhile, the eating experience makes me not want to try this one again. The rice was hot n fluffy, and the drippings from the BBQ sauced meat topped the rice which made it that much more enjoyable. The pancit was a hit! So full of flavors, the thin noodles were easy to eat and kept me wanting to eat another bite. A small rice cake topped it all off.
