You call it BATCHOY..i call it "Best-Choice"..

4 stars for now..the Batchoy itself is 5 stars as per US standards (i can't complain) ..it gives me nostalgia every single time i take a sip of that soup..reminds me of something nice and simple yet filled with good memories..then you pair it with rice cake..just a perfect blend of saltiness from the soup and the sweetness of the rice cake makes your palate jumps excitedly..the explosion of flavors makes your taste buds overwhelmed yet able to comprehend..you savor every spoonful and every time you chew on that noodles with the stuff that goes with it, it gives you the feeling of satisfaction wherein you can say "it's worth the drive from LA"..4 stars because i haven't tasted the other stuff yet but undoubtedly i will comeback pretty soon..will definitely recommend..

February 2021 was the time we visited Batchoyan Ilonggo Restaurant. Yup, we were there during those awful Covid times. The times where we were still required to wear face masks. Filipino food was what the family wanted. So we made our way to Batchoyan Ilonggo Restaurant since we were in the Camarillo area. We ordered our food to go. Batchoy, Pancit, and Lechon Kawali were the main entrees we purchased. For dessert, we tried their Bibingka and their steamed Rice cake (I'm not going to say the Filipino word for it because in Spanish that word means something else). All the food we tried was delicious. We will have to return one of these days. I'm sure we will sometime.

Ilonggo Foodie-Style We revisited Batchoyan, and it's still amazing -- even after a 1.5-hour drive! The batchoy has that rich, savory broth we Ilonggos love -- comforting, flavorful, and just right. My son had the pork belly barbecue, perfectly tender with that sweet-savory kick. The puto is soft, fluffy, and the perfect companion to the batchoy. Plus, the owner Mike and his staff are so friendly, making every visit even better. Authentic comfort food worth every mile!

My wife and I were here with 6 others for lunch. We ordered about 6 dishes and had enough that each of us took a little home. Food was very good. Service was good. You have to order at the counter and then take the food to your table later. One thing that was annoying - outside door got stuck quite a few times, and wouldn't close. Thus, cold air came blowing in frequently and restaurant was chilly. We were fortunate in that we had brought jackets along.

We went here yesterday as I was really craving for Filipino food and the reviews looks legit but I was very disappointed and wished we never came here. Please never come here! We ordered their special beef batchoy and lechon pares and it was awful. We wasted $52 for all, everything we just to ate one or two bites and left everything at our table, we did not even bother to take it to go because it's awfully soooo sweet, bland and it's very unappetizing! It looked great but tastes awful! It's very hard to swallow! She said I made a good choice of my order and if that was their good choice i don't know anymore how else is the rest of their food. Take note: Their door is very loud too, it slams every time theirs a customer who comes in and out, it's very annoying and it hurts the ear. I would NEVER recommend! 0-10!!

To see if Popeyes tastes better in its home country, I bought some to try. Hmm, it's just as good as what I usually eat, nothing special. The food quality control is definitely on point

Super hearty batchoy that was perfect for the cold weather months when I wanted more meat than pho. Soup is on the sweeter side but they make up for it with the heaps of garlic! Pancit is great, as is the lechon.

Receipt and wrong order, is this looks like sotanghon?
    Leo A.

I ordered pancit sotanghon and they give me pancit bihon which is cheaper the price .

I had ordered some A La Carte items from Batchoyan Ilonggo for larger gatherings before, but didn't give myself the time to sit down and have a bowl of their batchoy, and it felt wrong to review the place without tasting the plate that it's named after (although my review would have been 5 stars regardless). This afternoon I finally did. The lady working the front was very friendly and helpful, as I was not sure what to order with my original batchoy. Per her recommendation, I ended up getting an order of putos, and I have to say, the rich savory flavor of the batchoy combined with the tender sweetness of the puto is a winning combination. The restaurant itself is always impeccable, with ample room between the tables so even at full capacity it wouldn't feel crowded. That, combined with the restaurant working on a buzzer system makes for a very peaceful environment for a meal. I will certainly keep coming back!

Very nice Filipino restaurant! Employees were VERY nice and restaurant was spic and span! Garlic rice was 10/10, pork lumpia was so good the picky child gives it a 10/10, canton pancit was good as well. I'm glad we visited!

I've been wanting to try them out since they opened but didn't get a chance to till now. First time trying bitchoyan and sad to say I'm not really a fan. There was way too much soup for my liking . Seemed like they were trying to make it look like a bigger bowl than it was (I'm not sure). Noodles were a great consistency. Sliced eggs weren't too bad (**egg was additional). I like the idea of the chichiron in the soup for the added texture but it ended up making the soup way too greasy. Which made it was hard to enjoy for my liking. Maybe that's how it's meant to be, I'm not sure. The restaurant is very spacious. Dining area is kept clean . But the restroom has a funky smell.

This restaurant is clean and the staff is very friendly. Seems like there's only indoor seating at this eatery. We ordered a Holiday Filipino ham to go. Tastes so good. Something special to add for the holiday menu.

The food is superb! If you're looking for authentic Ilonggo Batchoy, come and visit this restaurant. It would certainly take you back to the Batchoy Capital of the Philippines and that is Iloilo! The service is excellent and we were very fortunate to have been served by the owner himself. The ambiance is great and welcoming. Will definitely be back!

We ordered the Tapsilog ($15), Chicken Adobo with Pancit and Puto ($15), Shanghai ($5), and a can of Calamansi juice ($3). Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We were also offered a sample of their atchara, which paired perfectly with both the tapa and chicken adobo. It was so good that it elevated the entire meal. The customer service was warm and welcoming, reminding me of being with my own family. Everyone was friendly, and the food came out quickly despite it being a busy Sunday afternoon. We visited around 1:00 PM on a Sunday and found it to be a great time to come after the main lunch rush. There is outdoor seating behind the restaurant and in front and while the sounds of the nearby freeway were present, the atmosphere still gave us beachside vibes and made for a relaxing meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience. The food, service, and hospitality were all outstanding. I highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try. I'd been doing Instacart orders from them but first time physically inside this weekend to check them out. The inside was super super clean. Major points there! In the time I was shopping around they had plenty of staff working, floors being mopped and all of the aisles were well organized and pretty. This market is a pretty standard Asian goods focused grocery store. I found about 85% of what I wanted here. I wish they had a premium sushi section and some more Hawaiian imported goods (aside from juices and sauces) but otherwise I was able to find everything I was looking for. Their hot bar is also solid. A wide selection of items to pick and I felt the pricing was reasonable. Actually throughout the whole store the prices are good compared to other grocery stores right now. I had a full bag of items for $50, good luck elsewhere getting those kinds of prices. I didn't have too much of an interaction with the staff while there, but again, lots of people working and keeping this spot in tip top shape. Also the woman working the register who checked me out was very nice. A great supermarket and I'll definitely be back more often now since checking them out.

It was pretty busy already with folks enjoying the DJ's tunes, filipino food and overall vibes. I bought the traditional Halo halo dessert (see my pic) and it was decent. Through out the night there was free gifts, contests and lots of dancing. Overall fun family event to enjoy. Seafood City is located in a strip mall. Lots of free parking. I occasionally shop here for speciality asian items that I couldn't find at Island Pacific. Prices are a bit steeper here. Service is decent here, for both the food court and supermarket.

We have had some moments where they seemed to not want to be bothered but that is ok. The main thing for me is I have noticed some newer competitors in the county are priced a bit lower and this place tends to be more expensive. Interestingly enough some of those places I would rate slightly higher were actually less expessive. With that being said, It is still a good solid spot worth trying if you are in the area!

I didn't eat anything else except this chicken katzu (and water) for about 10 hours before I got sick, so it likely could only have been from this dish. I looked up why deep fried food would have a strong carbon taste, and it turns out it's from old, overly reused, or burnt cooking oil.
