Tifa Chocolate and Gelato was a wonderful discovery. I actually stumbled upon it while getting my shoes repaired nearby, and I'm so glad I did! They have some of the best hot chocolate I've ever had. The gelato is fantastic as well, especially the Mint Chip and Espresso flavors. Beyond the treats, it's also a great place to find unique gifts and enjoy a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. I love that they offer board games, making it a fun spot to sit, unwind, and spend time with friends or family. The owners are warm and welcoming, and every visit has been a great experience. I got 7 or so chocolates on a craving and I'm honestly shocked by how disappointing, flavorless and dare I say...dry and waxy the chocolates tasted. I especially hated the blueberry that tasted pure artificial. Then the atrocity that was the coffee chocolate- I took a bite... no flavor at all of coffee, too sweet, then the bite of a dry sorta stale coffee bean. Like literally just a bean. Idk it was weird. The special was "dark floral" I thought it could be a flowery floral flavor you know? I thought that sounded cool and unique. naw...it just had flowers printed on it. Strawberry cream milk was way too sweet barely any strawberry flavor... like not one of these was good. I didn't finish the ones I tried, and I still am leaving the passion fruit I bought since I assume it will be as artificial as the blue berry. Sorry to be a hater but this ain't it. read more

I recently visited Tifa Chocolate & Gelato in Camarillo and it ended up being one of the most enjoyable dessert stops I've had in a long time. Small town feels and friendly vibes. The moment you walk in, you're hit with the rich aroma of chocolate and freshly made waffle cones. It immediately set the tone for a "treat-yourself" type of visit. The shop has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a boutique feel, and the display cases are filled with beautifully crafted chocolates, baked goods, and of course, a vibrant selection of gelato flavors. The selection was happily almost overwhelming, so many fun and unique flavors to choose from. I ultimately ordered my tried and true favorite - the stracciatella gelato. Creamy and delicious, a classic choice. Next time I'll have to do a multi-choice stack because since visiting my friends have told me you can order a few different flavors on the same cone which I didn't think of. What also stood out to me also was the staff, they were friendly, patient as I explored the shelves for that perfect bite, and were genuinely enthusiastic. They were more than happy to offer samples and share recommendations. I believe the staff member who helped me was named Michael/Mike? Very nice people work here. Upon entering, We are wowed by their Brookie, which looks absolutely delectable. Wish someone would say that about me... But enough about I, because next came the phenomenal customer service. The young lady working EOD 7/16/25 was just sooo cool. She helped us with samples, remained accommodating, helped us with truffles, remained accommodating, and told us to come back if we needed anything... by remaining accommodating! Ugh, just too nice for her own good. Nonetheless, it is worth sharing that they have a clean restroom, that families were in there at various tables playing chess, Connect4, and just hanging out. The gelato we selected were Cherry chocolate chip and mocha chocolate. It came with a complimentary waffle disc. The mocha chocolate was to die for. The shaved chocolate chips found strewn throughout offset by the thick dark chocolate ribbon, all built into a coffee ice cream. Is your mouth-watering yet?! The Chocolate Cherry gelato was good, had an "icicle" texture to it, making me think it could be vegan. Not sure, but warning: the cherry is very sweet. I think I'd enjoy the bitterness of raspberry to offset all of the sweetness. We picked up Truffles. The selections were Dark chocolate raspberry, dark chocolate sea salt caramel, milk chocolate strawberry, and vanilla. We will be bringing these truffles back to our own stomping grounds to compare with our local award-winning chocolatier. read more

If I didn't care about my health & my family history of diabetes, I would come here every day, multiple times a day. Every night I sleep sad knowing I didn't come here. On the real though it's so good here lol. However sometimes the service can feel unwelcoming when the worker gives you attitude & scrolls on her phone while you're giving your order. Such a cute little hangout spot that's open late by Camarillo standards! :) I've been frequenting this place for years as it's a great place to work, study, or hang out with friends and family. There is an assortment of board games on some of the tables (I can only remember chess, checkers, and connect 4 off the top of my head). The gelato is delicious -- my personal favorite combo is the lemon cookie with the honey lavender. Our server was new and was being trained on the job, but she was very friendly and helpful in giving us samples. My husband got the espresso chip and I got the pistachio lemon curd, a flavor I hadn't tried before. The espresso chip was creamy and nicely sweetened but it was missing the bolder espresso presence that we remember from previous batches. The pistachio lemon curd was gooooooooood. The lemon was bright and zesty and the mixed-in pistachios helped balance out the sweetness of the gelato. Definitely adding this flavor to my personal rotation! read more

The ambience is very warm and inviting with nice wooden tables and fun games out for enjoying some phone-free quality time with family and friends. I am honestly not too big on sweets, but I can confidently say that Tifa Chocolate and Gelato has THE best gelato and sorbetto I have ever had. I've tried their espresso chip, strawberry rose, dark chocolate, lemon sorbetto and strawberry balsamic flavors. My favorite (if I had to choose) would be the strawberry rose sorbetto! When I tell you I bought a pint of three flavors and ate it all in one night because my spoon wouldn't stop scooping the gelato/sorbetto into my mouth, that should tell you something haha. On the other hand, there was a noticeable chemical smell that led us to choose outdoor seating. My partner noted that the smell was actually less present in the bathroom. Here's my review of the gelato and cookie we tried: -straccialla: nothing that necessarily stood out, but solid; smooth but not creamy -dark chocolate: true to the name, deep and slightly bitter chocolate flavor; also smooth but not creamy -the wafer was a nice textural touch -smores cookie: I was really looking forward to this, but from the first bite, it tasted off - chemical-like. The chocolate chunks seemed fine, and possibly the marshmallow bits alone, but the cookie itself had a pretty worrying aftertaste. Noting that it was a little over 3 years ago that we first stepped into Tifa Chocolate & Gelato. Since then, we have become dedicated fans. We visit the Thousand Oaks location frequently. While not in Camarillo as often, we definitely give high fives to this shop. Recently, we were roaming around Camarillo for their annual Spring Garden Tour. This year we had our Sweet Granddaughter with us. She was being so good about getting in and out of the car seat (not fun for a toddler), so we took a little break and stopped for gelato. We all enjoyed our frozen treats (non-dairy for me, yay!) and the chance to set together at one of their cheery tables. SG wanted to "play" chess by moving the pieces around on the board. They have various games in the store so that guests can stay and play for a while; a slower paced way to relax versus being on one's phone all the time! Kudos to the management for having the way to hire friendly staff members. And to those employees for making it extra enjoyable to visit Tifa each time. From free taste samples, to great explanations for any questions we might have, they just make us feel welcome. They also have killer chocolates and delicious cookies. I always stop by here when I'm In town. The ambiance is very welcoming, they do a good job of making you feel like you're in someone's living room. There's board games, chess tables and a section where they sell gifts and knick knacks. Awww I love Tifa! Their mochas and ice cream are amazing. I have to say I haven't had a chance to try the chocolates yet, but they are super cool and friendly in the shop, and the free water tastes good. On warm days there is really nice outdoor seating and I think I saw they have checkers for the tables inside! The vibe is a nice mix of See's candy and a very classy grandmother's house. We got the lemon cheesecake and keylime pie - both were great. Move along and you get to the huge cookies. We got the red velvet and IT WAS TO DIE FOR! Getting a large cookie right is hard! It was perfectly baked. Thick, dense yet soft, just enough chew without being dry or crispy. Then of course, the gelatos. We got the strawberry balsamic and I just couldn't stop. I've had this flavor at other places but the balsamic taste is usually too strong. This was different. It almost tasted like a savory cheesecake. You can get 2 flavors in a small cup, which is perfect for sharing if you just want something small but sweet! This is a simple review for a simply fabulous place!
