Great clean beach to hang out at. Free parking if you can find it. Bathrooms, showers, no waves, clean sand, clean grassy areas. If this is what you are looking for, this beach is perfect. I try to come here at least once every time I'm on Oahu. I go to Makapu for a more authentic beach experience and to ride waves and I come here to just chill. I won't go on and on about this one, but definitely a cool manicured beach to hang out at. If you are looking for some waves or snorkeling nearby, Kahe is good for both. read more

This is a beautiful lagoon at the resort and is open to the public. The parking lot for this one is quite small, so you may have to wait. We usually check this one first, then go to the other lagoons if this one is full. Since it's a smaller parking lot it is much more private and quiet. Just like the rest of Ko'Olina, it is clean and well kept. read more

What a view Need a nice relaxing day without so many tourists, this is it. You can pick between one of four lagoon, we just happen to come here. All the lagoons are well maintained and the grounds keepers seem to make frequent checks with trash pickup. Also security enforcement is strict. We got busted because our portable table was too high. Seems like their's a rule for that. Each lagoon has outdoor showers and restrooms and each one has its own food stand. Lagoon 2 has a shave ice stand. The worst part of all the lagoons is the parking. It's not uncommon to have cars line up outside the gates to come in. Overall five stars. You're coming for the view and family time. Great place to lounge and/or bring the kids to the beach. There are 4 lagoons, but this is my favorite. The lagoons are open from Sunrise to Sunset. Although Lagoon 4 has the most parking, I don't mind waiting to get into Lagoon 2 as long as we can get in and as long as the parking line isn't too long. The parking lot has only about 16 stalls and 2 handicap stalls. The best time to go is either early in the morning or later in the afternoon before the sun sets. The water is usually really calm. The water is very nice and clean and also great for kids. The Sunset views are also always so beautiful. There are tress for shade as well on the outer areas above the sand. There is no BBQing at the lagoons but a pot-luck or nicely packed lunch is always great to enjoy here Lagoon 2 is usually not sooo very crowded, but filled with locals and well as those visiting and staying in the nearby hotels. The parking is usually the issue as there are not too many stalls and we always wait whether it be 15 min to more than an hour. read more

The lagoons are always nice! I have only had the pleasure of swimming at this again once many years ago but on this particular occasion my friend Katie and I walk the entire lagoons so pretty and if you're very lucky you'll catch one of the beautiful Hawaii sunset. My friend and I ate at the Monkeypod restaurant and then afterwards we walk the entire live games. Note to self do not do that in slippers ever again bring along some tennis shoes so you can walk and not have your feet hurt for two days afterwards. The lagoons are always pretty and if you have small children it's a great place to take them so they can just kind of wait in the water or swim out and go underwater perhaps even do a little bit of snorkeling. I would definitely recommend a lagoons to people who are interested in seeing beautiful Hawaii sunset, sitting around lazily on a beautiful beach, and enjoying the beauty that is HawAii. read more

The water in the lagoon is typically calm but, it can get a bit rough. However, the rocks that encloses the lagoon protects it from any massive waves. Parking at lagoon 2 is very limited for the public. I'd say there are about 20 spaces, including 2-4 handicap spaces. Beachgoers would have to get there early to find parking otherwise you'd have to wait for someone to leave. The landscape around the lagoon is beautifully manicured, I'm guessing it is maintained by the nearby hotel, and there are beautiful picturesque views of the trees, hotel, and beach The walk from the parking lot to the lagoon is paved and you can find athletes walking or jogging along the walkway. There are also showers along the walkway so you can clean up after swimming to avoid tracking sand to your vehicle. read more

The lagoons are a nice break from the beaches that have unexpected waves that can knock you off your feet. However the question is which lagoon is the best lagoon? Some will say any lagoon that you can find parking at! Others will swear by a certain lagoon. However what I've experienced is each lagoon does offer a little something different. So today we visited lagoon 2 after going to all the lagoons and this one having the shortest amount of cars waiting to park. We got there what I thought to be early (10am on a Thursday) and there were cars already in line waiting for a spot so I circled back here to wait. Each lagoon does have handicap parking so if you have a placard I highly recommend that you bring it to up your chance at getting a spot. We waited about 15-20 minutes (which the boys felt was hours!) before someone left giving us a place to park. Note that they do tow if you are illegally parked!!! So this lagoon has shaded grassy areas as well as umbrellas in the sand which is first come, first serve. Unlike lagoon 3, this beach isn't roped off, so you have access to the whole beach area. Also note that there is NOT a life guard on duty. There are fish to see if you are snorkeling or you can bring your inflatable float and just relax. I like bringing the kids here cause I can sit in the shade as they play on the beach or swim. There is also a shower and restroom available. There is not a concession stand available so bring your food & drinks. We saw people fishing off the rocks and it feels a little more relaxed and laid back from the other lagoons, not as many tourist as #3. You can easily walk down to the other lagoons to check them out. In my opinion, you won't be disappointed by the lagoons! read more

Was staying at Aulani and kept hearing people say that Lagoon 2 was the best so I decided to venture over and check it out. It was nice, it was quieter than Aulani's and it didnt smell as fishy. The water was also a bit clearer with alot less people and KIDS around. Was it worth the walk? Sure! But if you dont mind the smell its the same as the Aulani Lagoon. read more

The best lagoon for swimming! Why? 1. It has two parking areas yet it is the least crowded of them all 2. There are straw umbrellas for shade 3. It has a mini lagoon on the right, nice when it's low tide 4. I almost always see a turtle here 5. It has the nicest chapel. Next in line would be lagoon #3 at the Marriot Beach Club, this lagoon has a lot of beach chairs if you don't like lying in the sand, and there is a snack bar here. read more

This beach is one of our favorites for a few reasons. It's close to ewa beach and not town bound. There are walk/jog paths , kid friendly and not too crowded on weekdays. We'd have to come by 830a to get a parking, do a 45 min walk and then swim couple hours, or stay a little longer if it wasn't too hot. On the high peak times (weekends, holidays,school breaks and summer)would get dropped off and picked up. There are shade umbrellas but we've rarely ever got a chance to use them. This lagoon also seems bigger than the other 3. Mainly beach rental tourist and locals lucky enough to get parking, walked over,dropped off. read more

Love love love coming out lagoon two. They have shady trees, nice little umbrellas to set up your chill area, a safe area for the kids to swim with very minimal waves. It's nice a and clean water. The sand is not rocky. Most people are tourists so they don't bother and if they do, they are super friendly. The bad part is the parking. Either go early and find one or hope to get lucky. Definitely, worth coming to if you want a chill spot or have younger children who like the beach and not the danger of big waves. read more

Pick a place in the sand or grassy, shaded areas and just relax for the day. We had brought a beach umbrella but were told they aren't allowed on the beach so keep that in mind. read more

My family and I went to take pictures at lagoon 2. First I must say that the lagoon is absolutely amazing and beautiful! This was my second time here. I live in town, so the drive can be a bit long especially during the week. And The beach was completely empty. It's the perfect spot for relaxing with my family. There were also people snorkeling. The downside is parking...which is another reason we do not frequent the lagoons. We drove from lagoon parking to lagoon parking and nothing. There were people waiting at each entrance for people to leave. This could be another reason why the lagoon was empty... the parking is fixed to only allow a certain amount of people at a time. My husband chose to drop my daughter and I off at the lagoon then park at the shopping center and walk About 30 minutes to lagoon 2. Smh. But a few of my friends parked at the Disney resort, parking is $12 for the first hr, then $5 every half hr after. read more

Least crowded of all the lagoons but get there early because parking fills quick at this lagoon because it's a smaller lot. When coming to this lagoon, we usually get here before 7. Sometimes, at 7 on the weekend its filled but I guess it depends what weekend it is. Today, we arrived at 7am and only had 3 other cars in the lot. I'm a little bummed that they removed the hut looking umbrella shade areas though. I wonder when they took it out, I haven't been to this lagoon in maybe a year or so. read more

I accidentally found this place, and I'm glad I did. The parking is very limited, and it was full when we got there. A nice parking attendant waived at us and told us to wait until one opened up. After about 15 minutes, a parking stall became available for us. Tip: only one car at a time can sit and wait at the front of the parking lot until a stall opens up. All other cars must circle around the area. Once we got to the beach, I noticed cute little straw umbrellas scattered around the sand. Very cute, I must say. The water was beautiful...cool...refreshing...crystal clear...and a bit rough. The small waves made it a little fun for my princess to catch some waves on her boogy board. I had fun catching a few waves for myself, too. While we were swimming, we were serenaded by live music from a nearby resort. It was cool swimming while being entertained at the same time. What a special treat! Two and a half hours later, the sun started to go down and the air started to get crisp and cool. It was time for us to leave the ocean. The ocean was so addicting that we never once came out for a drink or a snack. Anyway when we were done, we headed for the showers. Tip: you can't use any soap or shampoo at this shower area per Ko Olina property. I can't wait to come back to this lagoon. I liked it better than lagoon 4. Very small and intimate,beautiful water, straw umbrellas, not too much people, live music while you swim, nice shower and restroom. The only downfall is the parking. Go early... read more

This place is absolutely amazing! Head over to the west side of the island. there's a beautiful golf course nearby if that's your thing. cute marketplace and coffee shop nearby. there are four lagoons in the complex area and they're all great you can't go wrong. there's public parking available and public access to the beaches. if you're looking for a great place to spend time with the family this is a great spot. the water is crystal clear, tame as a backyard pool and they have all kinds of rental equipment if you're into paddle boarding and such. if you're going to sit on the lawn chairs you have to be a guest of the hotel. so if you're not bring your own lounge chair. read more

This is one of my favorite beaches on Oahu! The parking at lagoon 2 is limited so I usually head straight for the large lot near lagoon 4 and the boat harbor. If you pack light the walk over to lagoon 2 isn't that bad. If you're at the beach around 8:30am or earlier, you might be lucky enough to snag one of the coveted beach "huts" on shore! My nephew and I went today around 9:00 am and got one! They're great for shade! The water here is pretty calm and this lagoon curves around far enough that there's a really shallow area near the rocks for little ones to splash in. The rocks near this shallow area is also good for snorkeling. Just be careful of the current and waves since they're aren't any lifeguards. Be prepared for several pleasant surprises on your visit......we saw sea turtles near the rocks, lots of reef fish, a monk seal swam into the lagoon, we saw albatross overhead, and ended our day with a beautiful sunset! read more

It's so beautiful here! We found this place by accident when we got lost trying to find coffee lol The water is so blue! It reminds me of the cays in the Bahamas. Water is so calm and clear. We were lucky we got here early in the morning while there were plenty of parking. (Came around 9 am). When we left, it was packed and people were waiting for lagoon goers to leave. We were also really lucky we had our snorkel gear and beach towels in the car! Such a wonderful place to be :) read more

Love this lagoon! Best snorkeling out of all the 4 in my opinion. Arrived at exactly 8 am on a Sunday and parking in 2 and 3 was already full. Had to park at 4 and walk down. Also beware of jellyfish after a full moon. Signs will be posted near entrance but the high tide will bring them in. Just make sure you're watching the weather before you go. Umbrellas available in the sand if you can snag one, but honestly the grass is just as nice and shady and there is usually a spot. The bathrooms are clean and there is one at every lagoon. Great place for kids since there are no waves. No pets allowed however. read more

My husband and I took our kids here for the first time recently . We don't drive out to this area often but wanted a change of scenery . It was a Sunday afternoon so we were expecting it to be crowded. There weren't that many parking stalls near the lagoon but we got lucky and got there as someone was leaving . There was only about 10 or so parking spots located near the lagoon, otherwise you would have to find parking at one of the other lagoons or walk quite a distance to get to the Lagoon. I was pretty impressed with how the place looked. There was a restaurant and what looked like a bar and a sidewalk right near the beach area. The sand was clean, the water was calm enough and warm for my 1 1/2 year old daughter to get in. There was a restroom very close by which was really clean and showers as well. It's a nice place to take young kids. It's not too far from restaurants and the Disney resort. The one thing I didn't like about this place was that you can't have any tents or cabanas. We brought a pop up cabana to provide shade for us but were immediately told to take it down by the hotel staff who were walking by. They have a strict policy of no tents or pop up shade around the beach area. We ended up not staying long because of that. I'd recommend that you pay a visit to this place at least once. It was a nice change from all the other beaches that are too rough and / or crowded. read more

My first time visiting another lagoon besides #1. I found this one had similar charm - serene atmosphere, not too crowded, public restroom (clean). Same small parking lot. The day we went had better snorkeling visibility than lagoon #1, but it probably just depends on the day. I have been to some nice beaches in the past but wow was this one nice. The waves don't get through the little barrier islands and so the water isn't choppy at all and there are little reefs throughout the lagoon that have tons of different fish. The water is nice as well and isn't super cold. They have little straw unbrellas all along the beach you can sit under. The water here is very deep as well and if you go bring a snorkel and goggles because it really is an amazing array of fish. The rocks also host a lot of little crabs on them and there are snails all along them as well. There is no lifeguard so you have to fend for yourself but man is this a nice lagoon. They also have a bathroom where you can change and a shower station where you can rinse off right in front of the bathrooms. My only complaint is the severe lack of parking and the small spaces. if you have a large car it'll take a minute to park and both times we went here we had to wait to park for 15-25 minutes but you are right on the beach so the walk down literally takes two minutes. The wait to park is completely worth t in my opinion and we stayed for a good four hours each time and never left the water. I am definitely coming back here when I come to O'ahu again. We visited all the lagoons last weekend. We tried to park at all the lagoons and only #4 had parking and it had plenty of parking! We did get there at 9am and it was a beautiful 86 degree sunny day! We hung out at Lagoon 4 and then walked the shoreline and the walkway to every Lagoon and spent time at all of them. 4 was our favorite because it's the least touristy and as you get closer to Lagoon 1 the more hotel's, stuff you have to pay for and cramped up people you get.. read more

I do freelance photography and shot here and the view and beach are awesome! Love the black rocks and you get a glimpse of the mountains in the background. The 2nd Lagoon has a bathroom close by and the beach was great for my kids to play in a small scale area also. Only catch is parking- you will probably have wait at least 30min to an hour so prepare for that but definitely a lovely spot. read more

Today was my first time going to this beach (lagoon). idk why it took me this long to come here. its pretty far thats why. all the way by the aulani hotel in kapolei. well a little farther than kapolei. right by paradise cove. so the reason why i gave it a 4 star was because of the parking. there's 3 lagoons BUT the parking in each lagoon is super tiny where only about 10 cars can fit. once we got there there was NO parking and the only way was to wait until someone left to take their parking. so we kept driving to each lagoon for about 30 min until FINALLY someone left! luckily we didnt give up looking only because the beach is soooo pretty! they have little shacks to go and sit under for shade and to chill while you swim. it was pretty packed considering its summer, idk how it is on regular days. but the water was not too cold but super salty. my eyes and lips were burning at one point haha i could handle it though haha no rocks on the sand so its perfect to swim. theres rocks if you go super out but we didnt even try because the current was too strong. they also have a bathroom and shower for when you are finished. its super close so you wont have to walk far. i loved my experience here! read more

This spot is heavenly. The waters are clear. The temperatures are warm. People are friendly and happy here.

Lagoon 2 is fabulous with great views, it feels like a private beach. Only reason for 4 star is lack of parking but then again maybe that's why it's not crowded and pleasant. Snorkeling was ok there are better beaches on Oahu that have better snorkeling. Overall this is an outstanding beach for families to come and relax. Love it here! read more

Best beach for families with young kids. Water was very calm & several huts/shades available for free (first come, first served). They also have a rinse off area along with clean bathrooms. Parking is very limited though, so come early! Definitely found our favorite spot! read more
