Anyone know if the lagoons are open? We went 3-4 weeks ago and they were all closed. Mahalo for any info!🤙🏾

    Yup they were open today

Does anyone know if fishing is allowed anywhere near this area? Specifically the rocky areas near the ocean side of the lagoons away from the swimmers.

Can fish anywhere. just not in the marina and not in any of the lagoons. Das when you going get trouble.

June 2020 is the Koolina public parking lots open?

Not yet open and probably won't open for a while. Four Seasons looks to be taking reservations for August only, and if the hotels open then the parking is supposed to open as well. In reality, Ko'olina would probably keep it closed to the public… Read more

    Is there bathrooms?

Yes, there were public RR. I was at the lagoon located by the marina.

    Can You bring dogs?

We didn't see any signage that says pet are not allowed, but be mindful that these lagoons are privately owned even though they're opened to the public. I think it's best not to bring your dog(s) to these lagoons.

Can someone suggest what time to arrive on a non-holiday weekday, in order to get free parking? Does…

We were there on a Monday. You should get there early morning bc by the time we got there at 10a, lot was already full and we got lucky with one parking space opening up right when we arrived. The lot did not empty out in the afternoon. When we left… Read more

    Review Highlights - Ko'Olina Lagoon

My favorite lagoon is still the last lagoon, but the one in front of Aulani is the popular (and crowded) one.

Fantastic beach for the little ones…read more The beach area felt incredibly clean and safe. The area is by all the nice resorts (like Disney) and golf course so it's a little farther away from Waikiki. To get in, there's a parking entrance. You can either stick to the right and I believe that's free parking. Alternatively, you can go straight and do paid parking. It's all day parking for $22. We opted for this option since it was quicker and we didn't wanna wait in line. The lagoon area itself has a locally grassy area. For a beach it has very clean restrooms. The beach itself is pretty small, but the water is very shallow and tame. Our baby who is 13 months old had a fantastic time. Highly recommend it will be coming back to this beach with our child in the future.

You get closer and the water is blue and...white? White because of all the people soup...and sun screen...you go to walk into the water and there's little debris and tiny pieces of trash in the small waves washing up to shore. My daughter put her snorkel on and went in. She couldn't see a thing! And I couldn't see her!! She was 4 feet from shore and when she went in with her bright neon bathing suit (for safety visibility reasons) SHE DISAPPEARED - that's how murky the water is. I was so grossed out when I tried to wade into the water we immediately left.

Once you get through it, it's beautiful and stunning. This time around I didn't get in the water to judge coral, sand, and clarity, but the view in and of itself was stunning. You can walk a few minutes down towards Waianae where you can see the beach front of Germaine's up until you get to the lighthouse which makes for a beautiful walk. There is plenty of picnic tables, however, the grass in the center was shredded leaving a large area of red dirt. Be cautious with the clothes you may be wearing as to not stain it.

Cons: The grass and parking lot between the sand and street badly need garbage pickup. Unused shopping cart in the grassy area. A homeless issue. The restrooms are disgusting and heavily vandalized. No soap in the sinks, no towels. I would not bring a woman here or bring my family. For the life of me, I'm baffled why a state park system can't keep up with clean restrooms, given all the hotel taxes, rental taxes, and airport taxes charged to visitors needing basic facilities as a matter of survival. Not everybody can or wants to stay at the Four Seasons (which is terrific). There isn't a job at a resort for every local resident. Ordinary people need to use restrooms and clean themselves afterwards. If the City of Paris can provide terrific self-cleaning portable facilities, with far more inhabitants, then the state of Hawaii can do it, too. Don't give us that BS that "it's not in the budget." I don't mind paying five dollars or something to use the bathrooms or for a pass. The National Park System does a vastly better job.

I did the research before I go and even my friend who live in Hawaii never come to this cave. You have to find the entrance that is not noticeable. Luckily my friends and I met some local and they point it out for us. The hole to get down is very small and when I got there the water had coming up if you get there in the morning it should be better, and we can go deeper to the cave but in the afternoon, it is too dangerous to deal with the wave. Even that inside the cave is very beautiful with reflection of the sun and water to the ceiling of the cave. WARNING! you shouldn't go alone. It must be group of friends to go together for a safety purpose unless you can't clam up and someone can help you. Since I try to visit a site of nature, it is something need to be considered, some place and be dangerous and must have company to go with.
