This is one of our favorite spot to swim. On a clear day, you might see some interesting fish while snorkeling. But mostly we're here hoping to catch a glimpse of the turtle. I recall coming here for the Luau next door but this was our first time snorkeling here - WoW!! It was a bit of a walk from the parking lot and my bare foot walk was killing me. But upon getting here, there were many more fish than people and the beach is protected by some reef. Getting up from the water, this lady started talking to me sternly and as I cleared the water from my ears, she said, "There's a turtle right by you" and I put my mask on and there it was - a Green Sea Turtle. It was maybe 2.5 feet in width - so not quite an adult yet but a pretty good size up close. I glided with it and followed it but then realized - where is my damn IPhone!! So I got out and ran across the beach only to have come back and learn that the turtle had left the cove . Noooo!! :( Note to self: Bring a Go Pro next time. I finally get to say that I swam with a sea turtle in the wild. :) read more

Aloha! My first trip to Hawaii and my first luau at Paradise Cove!! My friend treated us to this wonderful experience where we learned about Hawaiian culture, language and dance. The management at this establishment is incredible and the staff were so friendly. All of their dancers were amazing and so talented! I honestly enjoyed the entertainment more than the food. There was lots of singing, lots of dancing, hip and booty shaking, laughter and fun. The chicken was probably the best meat compared to the fish and pork (I thought the pork was a bit salty). I enjoyed the sweet potato slices they had because those were super soft, melt in your mouth kind of texture. The other foods were alright. But I gotta say again that the entertainment was top notch! And the views from the beach are amaaaaazing!! read more

This is one of those locations that you wish less people knew about because it's so pretty! That said, it was less crowded than many of the lagoons just down the way. We came over with hopes of seeing some turtles as there were rumors they hang here in the morning. While to turtles were seen, we did see plenty of fish, some crabs and an eel while out by the rocks. The water was lovely and was relatively shallow and it's a slow grade out, making it easy for the kiddos to play! It's located at the end of the populous portion of Ko'Olina and access is along a relatively small pathway. Plenty of beach is at your disposal and there's plenty of water area with rocky and sandy terrain. Some dudes were fishing, other searching for sea critters and most just chillaxin in the wake! A lovely additional stop for some nice beach going and kickin it in the water! read more

This is a nice cove beside the luau offered at Paradise Cove. The beach is pretty and is public and free access. There are some rocks to climb on and explore the fish ponds in the tide pools that are filled due to changes in tide - the cove is clean and well-kept and has a public access trail that is overgrown and shaded by tropical plants and is very charming to walk down until you reach the beach. It wasn't very very crowded for two of the days I visited while staying nearby in Ko Olina at the Four Seasons but on the last day there was a tour bus full of people who had come to the cove so they scared away all the turtles I was told come to rest or eat in the small cove. read more

Not too much to do at Paradise Cove, but the luau was quite nice. Feel free to see the separate review for that. Paradise Cove on it's own is a nice enough spot, but there are countless of similar places on the island where you can find the similar type of seclusion and calm lagoons. If you have a canoe, it's easy to paddle around, and one could even do some fishing with nets. Be careful on some of the slippery rocks and enjoy your day! If you have time, go to see the luau. It is reasonably priced and the show the the actors put on is great. At the end of the day, you are in Hawaii, so just enjoy! read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody you book it ahead of time they're saying you an email our prior to your reservation and I just that they charge you ahead of time does everything I called in a day before say everything was good to go at the last moment they sent an email saying the short staff. Anyone coming out of Hawaii from California or any other states of country to them and I reserve this place is horrible but not give them a star. Call In and inquire about what's happening It's seeing like no one wants to work. Highly recommended. From the bus to the destination was an incredible experience. Bus #4 on Jun 6th was fun! Our bus hostess (sorry, I forgot her name) is very entertaining and hilarious! We feel obligated to let people know how abysmal this luau is. That way they don't make the same mistake we did. We spent $240 adults and $210 children for "premium" package and we took our kids to experience a luau. IT WAS A SCAM. We had to pay extra for soda....soda! The food was so terrible. Some of it inedible. Frozen vegetables and deserts. Over skated, over cooked, under quality and taste. If you are looking for good food and a good show this is NOT it. The included alcohol was in a prepaid card form or 1 small Dixie cup of punch that may have had a drop of rum. The show was mediocre. The performers were chit chatting with each other while on stage. They did not seem to be invested in the program. Also, the premium seats were off to the side and half of us had to turn our seats away from our "food" to watch the show. While tips were not expected or required per the website, hands were in your pocket at all times for gratuity. After spending over $1300 on six people, for a show we couldn't wait to escape from, we would like to warn people. Do not make the same mistake. read more

We threw an amazing wedding back in 2016. It was stressful planning it and I probably lost some brain cells, but once you have your venue and date secured, everything else will fall into place. We chose Ocean Garden. A beautiful private estate residing beach front. I got so many compliments that this was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been too. My point of contact was Camille. For most of it, she was easy to contact. One time it was hard because she was at a different office in town but nevertheless she contacted me as soon as she got my message. Having an outdoor venue is a risk for rain however, just rent rain covers for the sides of the tent in case. We had some wedding sprinkles but eventually the sky cleared. It barely rains on the west side, but we got some April showers. Another small bump was that I had to contact her one month after the wedding for our security deposit back. However I got it within a couple days after and we got a refund on the leftover drink tickets that weren't used! I highly recommend Paradise Cove as your wedding venue. You can even pay some of the girls next door at the luau to dance during your wedding if they have availability! read more

Paradise Cove Public Beach is right next to the Paradise Cove Luau and the beach itself is relatively small, though there are quite a few people who show up regularly. I didn't end up having to pay for parking, as there is limited free public shoreline parking available. The rest of the lot is for those attending the luau. Such a gorgeous place! The Hawaiian islands hold a very special place in my heart, so it's only fitting to dedicate review #400 to one of the most beautiful places in Honolulu, Hawaii. I first visited Paradise Cove 10 years ago on a spring break trip with my college friends. The three of us girls wanted to check out a luau for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised, not only by all the lovely eye candy at the luau, but also by the stunning views. 10 years later and I'm still in awe of the beauty of this place. The sound of waves crashing on the shore, all the palm trees adorning the coast, and the color of the sunset in paradise are captivating and hypnotizing. 10 more years from now and I'll probably still find myself mesmerized. Fortunately you don't have to attend a luau just to view this spectacular gift from Mother Nature. The beach is open to the public, but of course visitors cannot cross over to the luau area. DATE TIP: Yes, you definitely want to take a date here. The views will knock him/her off her feet...hopefully in a literal way too! read more

Pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this luau. We've lived on Oahu on and off for almost 17 years, and we're luau'd out. But. Friends were coming to visit, and I realized my son is young enough that he doesn't remember any of them, so we agreed to go. And we had a blast! We went on a Friday night, and the lines for everything were so short! My son was so excited for the canoe rides and the spear throwing and we barely had to wait at all. The food was decent and the show was a little long for my taste, but the view, the ambience, the activities - all on point. Here's how it compares for me: Best Show - Polynesian Cultural Center's Ha Breath of Life. Best Food - PCC as well. Best view and location - Paradise Cove Best Fire Dancing - Sea Life Park's Ka Moana Luau Best Value for the Money - Paradise Cove No Best in Any Category - Hale Koa - seriously skip that one folks. Never been to Germaine's, so I can't rate that one. If you don't want it to be an all day affair, or you don't want to spend a million bucks, I'd pick Paradise Cove over all the others. If you want an all day immersive experience, I'd pick Polynesian Cultural Center. I'd never pick Hale Koa. Sea Life Park would be my 3rd pick. read more

They've added a pay parking lot where it is $6 for 10 hours of parking although I noticed it has randomly been closed on select days such as Labor Day. This has eased the parking issue but led to a lot more people at the small lagoon. The good part about this lagoon is there is natural shade and there are no restrictions on putting up an umbrella like the other lagoons. The waves are minimal and a great area for kids to play. We went there today and were very disappointed. They bus in tourists who were being completely disrespectful to the monk sea walking around the ropes and boxing in the sea turtles swimming in the lagoon. The resort announces over their loudspeaker to keep one's distance but the announcements are generally ignored and the same issues occurred continuously for the couple hours we were there. read more

We planned to have our dream wedding at Paradise Cove, and even planned to have our rehearsal dinner and send-off brunch on the property as well. The location is beautiful and working with Camille was great. Unfortunately we had to cancel our wedding due to the Coronavirus pandemic, leaving us heartbroken. Luckily Camille was so kind to us during this challenging time and she agreed to refund us our deposits without hesitation. We are so thankful for Camille and Paradise Cove and feel thankful for the experience we had dealing with this venue. We hope that one day we will be able to return and have an event at Paradise Cove, and I encourage all brides/grooms to check them out for their own weddings. read more

This venue had to be my biggest disappointment of our trip to Hawaii. I have been to the luau several times in the past. My guest had never been to Hawaii before so it was my pleasure to fulfill her bucket list wish. Unfortunately I built the luau up to be THE event of our trip, based on past experiences. In the past, this place was magical, quaint and fully representative of "native" Hawaii, including a replica of a village with a number of shops selling all kinds of Hawaiian-crafted souvenirs and gifts. The place really taught a lot about Hawaiian culture and traditions, giving a great sense of the lifestyle. Unfortunately, this is all gone. The food was great, as always, but the quaint village has been replaced by a sterile-feeling store full of cheap souvenirs. You'll only enjoy this store if you like dozens of flip-flops, t-shirts, skirts, etc...all the same but different colored...all made in China...and all nothing but "branding" commercials for Paradise Cove. Other than the store, you can choose between different beverage stands, all serving the same cocktails; or go to 5 minute "shows" of Hawaiian culture. And rather than true explanations of culture, you get a 5 minute "show"...including guests pretending to be Hawaiian while throwing a net. The show was ok, but lacked the old traditional entertainment. It felt more like a Vegas show than a luau. My recommendation is that you save the time (and pretty steep ticket prices) and go to a luau at one of the Waikiki hotels. You'll get the same or better entertainment for a lot less $$. This place was a huge disappointment, and it has obviously been taken over by the bean-counters of some major corporation more interested in branding their product than providing a true, authentic piece of Hawaiian tradition. Save your money and go to the north shore instead. read more

Cute little beach next to the luau area. The beach here is tiny but the cove is cute and relatively safe for little ones.

My family and I came here to see the sea turtles. One was on the beach and looked a little sick :( but there were a couple swimming in the lagoon with us. There was a monk seal sunbathing nearby. It was hard to get to him bc it was rocky and lots of mosquitos in the way, which might be a good thing to deter ppl from bothering him, he was a huge mofo. I spoke with a lady who regularly takes her kids here and last time the monk seal got in and swam with her dog..she had her kids get out though to give him room. Only cons were the limited public parking and rocky bottom--i came home w a few cuts on my feet. Other than that we had a great time. A secret gem! read more

This beach just isn't worth it. We got to this beach in the late afternoon and had to wait over 1 hour for a parking stall. When we got to the beach the tourists from paradise cove took over half of the lagoon. There were no public bathrooms or showers and the sand has a lot of rocks in it making walking in it rather uncomfortable. I also read a review saying you will guarantee see a turtle. Not today.... This place was a disappointment on my list. read more

Had the most awesome time at Paradise Cove. A lot of activities when you get there. Throwing a spear at a target, playing throw the round rock and a long oblong wood in between two stick. Made me a haku band for my head, had a tattoo drawn on my arm and then the drinks. You get 16 dollars from you ticket on a gift card that you can use on drink or any of the stores there. The hula show was just amazing, beautiful dancer and handsome men. The MC was just marvelous. She had me laughing at her jokes and she was very entertaining. She honestly made my night. No honu for months because the haoles have run them off and stripped the limu from the rocks. I wish the resorts would stop telling them to come to this cove, they have four of their own. With no more limu, the honu have no reason to come. Need to see if it's possible to sue the resorts for telling their guests to come feed the honu . It's only been about four years since the honu actually came on the beach but constant harassment has driven them from the lagoon. Sad. read more

The food was awful u assume u come to a luau you would have some great tender pork or some good pork for the price but the chicken was better but not by much. Pork was salty rolls dry from a box not even warm desert was pastry with way to much sugar I don't know what to do I had a salad n the best thing was some pineapple. Went with boyfriend here towards the end of the day. Very small beach and only half of it is accessible to the public. The rest of it can only be accessed from the luau area. No public restrooms are available so it's not a great place to spend the day. I'd only recommend this beach if you plan on paying for the luau. We ended up going to the lagoon 4 down the road. read more

I don't know how much credit you can give my review as I have only been to one luau in my lifetime and it was at this locale. It is located in a beautiful resort area and parking is totally plentiful and free. We checked in at the will call window and we were given clear instructions on what will happen throughout our evening. We walked into the cove and we were greeted with shell leis, mai tais, and pictures. We we shown to our seats and left to explore our surroundings before returning to the dinner and presentation. There was plenty to do and to keep you entertained throughout the evening. We arrived around 5pm and we were in our car by 9pm on the dot. I must say the food was actually pretty good. I'm not a picky eater, but I have a discriminating palette and presentation is a big deal to me. I wrote of all of that to say the food was good and I didn't feel ripped off. The performers were awesome and the new hubby and I actually had a good time during the newlywed/lovebirds portion of the performance. read more
