Local pick ups are nearly double the cost of an airport location which can be double the time. With Kyte, we love the delivery service. The only issue is that you really need to be prepared to leave and really plan your pick up time b/c NYC doesnt offer good street parking so you will stuck lapping the neighborhood until your surfer arrives. This part is on you and your planning. Otherwise, great company. Pretty reasonable considering your other options but the convenience is most what we love. Cars have all been high quality and clean. Than you!

DO NOT RENT FROM KYTE (now Turo). They are completely unreliable and unprofessional. If I had…read morewritten this review a year ago, I would've given Kyte 4 out of 5 stars. But after my recent experience, I wish I could give them zero. I had a car scheduled to be delivered for July 20th to take my daughter to summer camp. Just over 24 hours the car is supposed to be delivered, I received an email stating that Kyte is no longer operating in Brooklyn, and that my reservation was being canceled and refunded. No phone call, no advanced notice, just a last-minute email - AND the refund won't be processed for 5 - 7 business days (I still haven't received it). This left me scrambling, panicking, and searching for a new rental car during a very busy summer weekend. I eventually found one at the airport, which now means added Uber fees on top of the MUCH higher rental cost. We were not in a position financially or time-wise to be dealing with this. To make matters worse, Kyte still attempted to charge me a $500 security deposit even after canceling my reservation. I anticipated this and made sure the card on file didn't have enough funds - and I was right. I was still receiving emails and notifications as if my rental was going ahead, including instructions for my "vehicle drop-off". This experience was completely unacceptable, incredibly frustrating, and put my family in a stressful and unfair situation (emotionally and financially!). It's been 10 business days and still no refund. I'm now trying to track down Turo's customer service - spending more time that I really don't have for this frustrating mess they created. Do not rent from Turo. The risk of this happening to you is not worth it.

I reached out to about a handful of moving companies and this was among the most competitively priced. Bobby, the admin contact was easy to get ahold of and very responsive. Getting a quote, booking services, and processing payment was all hassle-free. Max and Vlad, the movers assigned to our booking, were efficient and professional. All of our furniture was transported without damage. I can also say that this is an honest and trustworthy company. Our move ended up exceeding the 3 hour minimum by about an hour and the total charged was calculated properly, I was happy to see they didn't try to overcharge.

Bobby his secretary, and I were in constant communication, scheduling/planning a week prior to moving stuff from my 3br house to a storage facility. My move was scheduled for the 9a-10a block. I was notified when they were on their way, they arrived early (around 8:30a) and went straight to work. They made sure all of my furniture was wrapped, protected with blankets if necessary, and handled all of my stuff with care while loading the truck. The most notable thing about Rabbit Moving & Storage is that they completed my move in less than 2hrs!! I am very pleased with this company, and highly recommend them to anybody who is looking to get a move done efficiently and at a reasonable rate!

This was an okay experience overall. I had a reservation for a truck rental for a student film, and…read morethe checkout process itself was pretty smooth -- I was able to do most of it on my phone. There was a line when I arrived, but the employee working did a great job moving through everyone efficiently. There was some confusion with their internal hand‑off process, which was frustrating and slowed things down, but eventually I got my truck. The vehicle was clean and ran smoothly. The only downside was that the lock on the back was broken, so I had to buy my own -- hopefully that's been replaced by now. The return process, however, was super easy. I just dropped the truck off and left, and my final bill came through shortly after. Overall, a decent experience with a few bumps.

Pick up was simple - walked in and showed my info and the van was ready right away. Drop off is easy as well. Staff at the pick up desk quite friendly for an early Sunday am. Few things to note - they add a $15.95 facility fee on top of everything for renting from the Chelsea location (seems absurd to me). Might want to refill gas on your own. I drove 14 miles and let them refill the gas. They charged me for 2 gallons but it's nearly impossible to have used that much gas going that short distance. I rented a cargo van, which looks small in the pictures, but when I arrived, they had graciously upgraded me to a larger version which was a little hard to drive through the streets of New York City.

Going into the rental, I prepared myself for the worst experience of a lifetime, but for all of the…read moreinconveniences I suffered, I was compensated, so in the end, I suppose I got what I paid for. First off, Penske starts off with higher rates, but is the only company where you can negotiate (price matching) and that gives discounts such as Triple A discounts over the phone. Budget and U-Haul do not offer this, so Penske will probably always come out to the cheapest. Also, Penske gives you unlimited miles, so you don't have to worry about accidentally taking detours. But here's where the bad stuff happened: 1. The only way that Penske would have been price-competitive was with the Triple A discount. I personally did not have a card, but I am covered under my family's plan. I didn't know if this was going to cut it, however, so I called Penske to make sure. The person on the phone said it would be ok to bring my dad's card, as long as we had road-side assistance. But the person at Chelsea rental said that I had to have the card under my name so that she could swipe it. So she did not apply this insurance. 2. Chelsea Rental, the contractor that houses Penske, did not check the back of the truck before we drove it away. So I drove the truck all the way back to the UWS. Only to open it up and discover a bunch of crap in the back. There were about 20 dollies, and hundreds of pounds of packaging material. So I had to drive it all the way back to Chelsea and have them take it all out. This delayed the trip by about an hour and a half. Here are the redeeming things: 1. The Penske truck we got was brand new. This probably meant the gas mileage was pretty good. compared to other older trucks of the same size. 2. They compensated me for the "bad stuff" and refunded $75 dollars off of the total rental. Other things to know driving to Boston: You can make it on a full tank of gas. You will just need to fill it up right before you turn it in, and it will be about $60 dollars in gas money. I opted for the $50 dollar insurance, but I really did not need it. Waze will tell you a way to get there that is shortest, but keep on I-95 as you exit New York, as this is the road without little tunnels that will scrape the top of your truck off. Once you get into CT, you can take 84 to 91 (or 91 to 84 or something like that... (go through Hartford)

I don't want to blow up the spot of the guy who helped me out, but lets just say I got a bit of leeway on some things. On top of the friendly and generous attitude, I got a brand-spanking new truck with no damage and an honest fuel gauge. Speaking of dishonest fuel gauges, Chelsea U-Haul can suck it. Not having a hellish rental experience was an extremely refreshing change, and having a great rental experience was a complete surprise.

However, the line took literally two hours from the time we got there. There was something like 20 people in front of us and ONE single worker. When I was in there checking out, another worker arrived and was like what is going on?? I asked if the long line was abnormal and they said yes and that they usually call in backup... but still, with only two people there we would have still waited another hour.
