I have not found better bi bim bop in Texas. It's hard to top the same dish ordered in a place with a large Korean population, such as I've found in LA, SF or NYC, of course. But this was still really good. The dol sot (hot clay pot) kept everything nice and hot, cooked the raw egg yolk nicely, and crisped up the rice perfectly. But there were two detractors. One was the delicate spring mix greens they topped the hot dish with. I would ditch that so I can top the dish with banchan. The second was something I'm only now realizing. They didn't offer any gochujang. That's the only flavor component the dish was missing. So next time I'll just say, hold the leafy greens and add a side of gochujang. And I think that'll do it :-) I loved all the banchan. They had all the classics except for the anchovies (and I don't really care for anchovies), so that was perfect for me. The potato was bland (it's bland in other Korean restaurants, too) , but the rest was perfect. They offer cold sake, but were out of my first three selections. They only have five sakes on the menu, each very different from the other, which is nice, so it would be nice to keep them in stock. The atmosphere was nice enough. And I loved the outdoor space and koi pond. But the music in the restaurant detracted from the experience for me, as if they've been running the same lame playlist for the last 40 years. So I just tried to tune it out, and at least it wasn't loud. We'll come back to find the Korean BBQ a try. I do love Korean food and, despite a few minor details, this seems to be the place to get it. Prices were reasonable, You don't expect Korean to be cheap. Bulgogi is ribeye with an Asian pear-based marinade and there are so many side dishes. But as Korean food goes it's reasonable here. We drive here from the Bastrop county (practically Smithville). And I've added this to my list of restaurants to consider next time I'm in Austin.
Went on a Thursday for their lunch specials, and it might be my favorite lunch spot now. Located in what at first seems like an almost abandoned complex from the parking lot, find the middle opening and walk to the center of the complex where a pond and the actual front door of the restaurant rests. The rainy setting with warm hanging lights and large windows really set a magical mood. The food was amazing as well and the lunch sets are such a good deal. Did enjoy the soups, sujebi and sundubu (not pictured) more than the pork bulgogi, but the soups and side dishes were very good. The side dishes for the soups versus the bulgogi were slightly different in a way that paired the sides with the main well. The intentionality shows the care they put into the food and crafting the meal. The servers were also very nice the entire time.
The BBQ is not all you can eat and there is a minimum 2-order spend if you want to do the Korean BBQ. We elected not to do BBQ because of this and sat at a regular table and got 2 shareables and 2 entrees. Price before tip was $57.39, not too high for the amount of food we ordered. The shareables were good portions (like a small entree size). The food was tasty and I loved getting the banchans with our meal. The only other off note was the smelly bus cart the server brought out to clean the table next to us. The garbage cans on the cart were stinky and gross and not at all great to smell while we're eating our fresh food.
Korea House gives out free food every first Wednesday of the month to give back to the community. I've been here 3-4 times for over 2 years now and the line just keeps getting longer and longer! I have tried a lot of dish on the free menu: Kimchi Mandu, Spicy Rice Cake, Kimchi Udon, Kimchi Jjigae, Bibimbap, and Ribeye Steak. The spicy rice cake is a must-get appetizer everytime I come here. It is always good but today they made it extra spicy and it was hot, which made it even better. All the entrees are okay though, given that it was free so it wasn't the best looking dish or piping hot. Also it is free so they don't give you a lot of meat. A bowl of soup would get like 2 pieces of meat or the bulgogi dish would get very little beef, etc. I have never gone here on a regular day and pay regular prices, so I can't say much about the quality difference when it comes to actual dine in. The prices are pretty expensive for the small portion sizes if you look at the actual menu, so take that into account! Note: during the free days, you can't order anything outside of the free limited menu where you choose 1 out of 2 appetizers, and 1 entree out of the entree list. And I believe the menu changes here and there, so check their social media for the correct menu :)
I liked that they had KBBQ and off the menu items so everyone could order what they like. I was happy to see that they gave a lot of side dishes with the KBBQ and all of them were really tasty. You can even ask for some complementary lettuce, garlic, and jalapeño peppers to go with your KBBQ. The food came pretty quickly and our server was very attentive and kind. We walked in without a reservation (there were 7 of us) and they accommodated us right away. The restaurant had a table big enough for all of us which was really nice since we were a big group. I would definitely recommend!
The exterior of Korea House is really serene with a peaceful pond, a little bridge, and calming zen music that set a nice tone before we even walked in. Inside, the space is roomy and comfortable, and the service was very warm and friendly. We sat in the non-BBQ section. We ordered the pork bibimbap, japchae, and kimchi pancake. The banchan that came with our food was plentiful and had a lot of variety. The rice in the bibimbap was mushy and lacked flavor. The kimchi pancake was bland, and the japchae noodles were a bit too chewy. Even though my friend was so excited for me to try this place, it didn't live up to my expectations.
I was quite excited to try another Korean restaurant in Austin, which unfortunately suffers from a dearth of quality Korean food establishments. I'm looking for wholesome, comfortable, whether grill-your-own or not, quality banchan, and popping flavors that make you happy inside. You know, the kind of place you might find in the midst of metropolitan areas with a high concentration of Korean eateries. As for Austin, the Korea House is located in the strip mall area adjacent to the Alamo Drafthouse. Entering, they asked if we wanted BBQ. "Sure!" why not? and they then proceeded to tell us all the grills were occupied, but! We could sit at a normal table instead. Fine with us--I had thought there might be a difference in the menus or something. There isn't. As we settled in, a Galbi Ssam Set, a Bulgolgi Kimchi Bibimbap, and a Seafood Scallion Pancake sure sounded enticing. We cut our own with scissors? I mean, that's fine with me. But the galbi was ridiculously fatty, the seafood scallion pancake had a slight unpleasant off-taste, and the bulgolgi kimchi bibimbap had overly hydrated rice (your water rice ratio is off!) resulting a mushy rice that had a difficult time crisping up on the bottom. But at least they provided nice lettuce leaves. I can see the appeal of this place. It's sort of nestled in a courtyard, and you have to walk over to the front entrance from the parking lot. There is potential to grill your own. There's the group social element. But I think the food quality is not there, based on how the basics have been prepared.
Great evening and first time visit to Korea House. Arrived at 7pm on a Friday and the place was about half full, and thank goodness because we were hungry. The hosts greeted us promptly and offered the BBQ (cook it yourself) or non BBQ options. We opted to let the chefs do what they do best. We were then seated and attended to by our waiter fairly immediately. It was nice to feel seen, and we quickly decided on our two dishes (though the menu had lots that I wanted to try). Both bulgogi dishes were great! The meat was tender (if a little fatty), the banchan selection was huge and delicious, and although it took some time to crisp up, my rice was a chewy and savory treat. I wish my bowl had a few more veggies on top (and I could have done without the lettuce), but I was able to use the banchan as a supplement. The gochujang sauce was fantastic if a tad sweet. The place itself was warm and inviting, with beautiful wood tables and soft lighting. The outside featured a dope pond walk and cafe lights, which gave a perfect option to linger. All accounted for, we were very happy and will be back!!
This one has been on my list of places to try and I do not regret it! Korea House is casually slept on. The service here was fantastic, from the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated very quickly. The place itself is very spacious and clean all around. The food was the best part! The mandu, kimchi fried rice, the kimchi Jjigae, and all the sides were so delicious! I'm sure you can't go wrong with any thing on the menu but those would definitely be my recommendations!
Had a delicious, comforting, and satisfying lunch here! We stopped by on a whim and were seated right away. The restaurant has a relaxed, welcoming vibe and was pleasantly busy for lunchtime without feeling crowded. I ordered the chicken bulgogi lunch special, which came with soup, salad, and a generous spread of banchan. The bulgogi arrived sizzling hot on a cast iron plate--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The side of rice made it a hearty, well-balanced meal. Service was excellent--everyone was incredibly kind and attentive without being overbearing. I'll definitely be back soon. A great spot for a cozy and delicious Korean lunch!
I was unfamiliar with the Korea House menu, so I chose the Kimchee Jjigae listed under Korean Stews. I liked everything in the description: kimchi, tofu, and pork. Because it was under the Korean Stew category, I expected a thicker dish. Instead, it was more like a kimchi broth/soup. It's not the restaurant's fault; I just didn't know what the dish would entail. When the server brought it to the table, it was steaming, looking very appealing. The "stew" was tasty and a bit spicy, which I like. It was a bit too hot at first, so I added the side of rice to cool it off and thicken it. Next time I will choose a cold item, like the Japchae that my friend ordered: stir-fried clear noodles with beef & assorted vegetables. The best part of the restaurant offerings is the "banchan," or a variety of simple and refreshing vegetable dishes to flavorful meat and seafood options. I especially enjoyed the cucumbers, sprouts, fish cakes, and daikon radishes. Yummy! The service could have been a bit swifter; it took a while to get water to the table. Once it came, it was nicely and refreshingly served in a metal carafe with metal glasses. The restaurant itself is tastefully decorated in a minimal Oriental style. Though located in a nondescript mall, outside of the restaurant is a lovely oriental garden.
Was in the mood for some Korean cuisine so decided to come to Korea House. The restaurant is somewhat secluded in a shopping center on Anderson Lane. Had to walk around the complex a bit to find it even though I have been here before. Walked in and there was not a wait. Was given the option for Korean BBQ or regular seating. Was seated at a regular table in the corner. The service was friendly but was a bit slow. It took over 10 minutes before we were an acknowledged and water was brought to the table. This was consistent throughout the dining experience. Ordered the dol sot bibimbap which is rice and meat and other toppings served in a stone pot. I was a bit disappointed because normally the pot is served very hot which results in a nice crispy texture to the rice at the bottom, but the pot was not hot at all. My favorite part of the meal was all the banchan that was served. Very generous with 10 bowls of different banchan to try. It was refillable so was able to eat more when we ran out. Favorite banchan included the fish cakes, kimchi and cucumber salad. Overall an enjoyable experience. Wish my pot had been served piping hot like the experience I have had in the past eating this dish. Also service could be improved if more attentive and responsive. Had to flag the person down several times because of lack of check-in and follow up.

I used to come here a lot but stopped since the location is so far from where I live but every time I come I am surprised as to why I don't come more often. Today I had the Chicken Dolsot Bibimbap and it was delicious as always! Service is always super sweet and food always so fresh. I love all the options they have of banchan. They offer Korean bbq as well but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. The vibes definitely feel very home-y. read more

Flavorful and fresh. Often times, Asian food can taste like it has been sitting in a huge vat and ladled out as ordered. This was not the case last night. I went with friends who are loyal patrons, so I let them guide me through the menu. We shared Mandoo and Hot Honey chicken to start. Both were very good though I liked the spice and flavor fullness of the hot honey chicken more. For the entree, I had Sizzling Chadol- very tasty. The bean sprouts were heated through and still maintained their crunch. Entrees are served with rice and pickled sides that the table shares. There was everything from celery root to kimchi. One of the sides (that was not pickled) was crunchy anchovies. I've never had anchovies prepared that way, and enjoyed them. The atmosphere is busy, but still reasonable for conversation. The restaurant has two sections- one where you can cook your food yourself at your table, and one where the food is brought already prepared. I'll come back to try stirring it up myself. read more

I honestly haven't been to Korea House since college so it had been about 10 years since the last time I've eaten here. The restaurant looks exactly the same as I remembered it in the past. My family and I came here for lunch and ordered the tofu soup ($13) and bulgogi ($15). Portions are on the smaller side but could be due to ordering the lunch menu vs dinner. The bulgogi was enjoyable. The banchan is pretty mediocre. What I really liked to highlight is their recent offering of free food on the first Wednesday (all day) of every month to anyone and everyone. This is so rare if not unheard of especially with inflation and cost of food in general these days. I had a chance to go in October and was blown away with the generosity I witnessed. The restaurant filled up within 20 minutes of opening. They give you a menu and you could literally order anything and as much as you wanted completely complimentary. They don't expect anything in return but I'm sure they would accept any donations/tips. I'm happy I got to reconnect with a restaurant I used to frequently dine at and see how they are giving back to the community. I love supporting local business especially the OG ones. read more
I'll confess I've never been to a Korean restaurant before so this was all a new adventure. I'm glad I started here because the food was delicious, the people were so kind, and I couldn't ask for a better introduction! The location in the Village Shopping Center is very unique and worth a trip by itself. It's like a strip shopping center built in a square with a center courtyard filled with lily ponds and a gazebo making a peaceful space. So that makes Korea House a little hard to find without a map since it's on the inside edge of the square and you have to park at another business and take a walkway between businesses to get inside, but don't give up! It's like crossing through to a whole other unexpected world inside. The restaurant itself is sparsely but tastefully decorated, featuring string lights and paper lanterns, a number of tables with built-in grills and quiet vent hoods above, and plenty of warm wood accents. There are tables outside too so you can enjoy the lily ponds in nice weather. And I loved the piano music that would be at home in a Final Fantasy or Miyazaki soundtrack that lends a nice ambiance without being too loud or distracting. Being a complete novice I ordered the beef bulgogi which was a wonderful introduction to Korean food. The beef was tender and so flavorful and came steaming on a cast iron dish. There were four cold sides that I didn't expect but we're fascinating too, if a bit challenging. While bean sprouts and kimchi might be an acquired taste it was obvious these were made with good ingredients and authentic like everything else. And to my surprise I almost crave the spicy pickles even now! I'd happily order this again in the future, but will try to explore more of the menu next time. Most touching was the kindness and love put into everything by the whole staff. Everyone was welcoming and the service was good, but everything was more personal than that and I even saw the owner who could enjoy retirement instead helping bus the occasional table, talking to a few visitors. That kind of humility and care means a lot and makes me hope more people support this treasure! read more

I love Korean BBQ so I was excited to try this place out. But I was a slight bit disappointed. The Dolsot Bibimbob was good and I liked the texture of the rice cooked in the hot stone bowl. We got the Ssam Set so that we could make lettuce wraps with our Galbi. I was a bit disappointed in the Galbi since the meat wasn't very tender and it was a bit hard to chew. The side dishes that came along with everything were alright. read more

We've been going here for years. Their food is always consistent and they have friendly staff and good service. The atmosphere is lively and open. You can either get a table with a grill to cook the BBQ yourself or get a table without one and ordered the already cooked items. We sat at the tables where you order the precooked items so we could relax. We ordered the seafood pancake, the chicken curry and the Bulgogi. Our favorite was the seafood pancake - my husband commented "this is the seafoodiest seafood pancake" that we've ever had. There was tons of octopus. The chicken curry and Bulgogi were good. And they gave a lot of banchan options. read more

We tried ordering an item from every category: appetizer (rice cake), meat (galbi), soup (sullungtang), and rice (dubu dolsot bibimbap). The rice cake was very plump and not too spicy, perfect for my taste. The galbi was pretty standard. The soup was very flavorful and hearty, loved the addition of noodles. We accidentally ordered the tofu version of the dolsot bibimbap so I thought it was a little bland but not bad for what it is! Pretty solid Korean place and we will be returning :) read more
I've heard so many amazing things about Korea House that I had to come and see for myself and I was NOT DISAPPOINTED! As a Korean, nothing is going to beat the home-cooked food my mom makes...however, if I were going to introduce true Korean food to a friend in Austin, I'd 100% bring them to Korea House. There is such a variety of options to try and the service is so so kind I kinda felt like I was stepping into an early 2000s KDrama because the vibe is so cute haha If you're looking to support a local business with great food and vibes that gives back to their community, you definitely need to check out Korea House! read more
Korea House hasn't changed much the past few years; food is delicious, service is impeccable, and you leave smelling like a bbq pit. The owners are so sweet and repetitively came to check on us and give us grilling tips. The banchan here beats the other newer kbbq places and they refill them if asked. read more
Wow, I'm was so impressed with this a la carte Korean BBQ place! The service was amazing and all everyone was extremely attentive! I dined in with a party of 2. In order to do KBBQ, the menu said we must order at least 2 orders of KBBQ meat. We ordered galbi (boneless marinated beef rib) and chadol baegi (thinly sliced angus beef brisket). I also ordered a galbi tang (beef bone broth with beef prime ribs) to try. Their banchan was so flavorful! I could just go there just to eat their banchan with rice. The marinated galbi was tasty, but I think I should've gotten the saeng galbi (un-marinated boneless beef rib) because there was already a sweet soy dipping sauce that was included with the barbecue. The galbi tang was also tasty and i enjoyed how peppery it was. It came with glass noodles and it was topped with scallions and strips of eggs. The only downside was that I thought the beef rib was too chewy and it was hard to remove the meat from the bone. Other than that, I really enjoyed this place and I would definitely come back here. And yes, you will smell like delicious KBBQ when you leave this vicinity. read more

Came on the first Wednesday of the month for free lunch. Came 30 minutes before afternoon close and had a fairly short wait time of 10 minutes. Service was exceptional and the servers were very kind. The food came quick and the beef was savory and juicy. If I had to complain, the mandu was a bit cold and mild. The Christmas music and atmosphere was good and I would definitely come back again! read more

SO GOOD! The people there are so nice and really nice to students. I got the pork bulgogi, but everything on the menu is so good. The bulgogi was very flavorful and a good amount. I'm also a big fan of their Mandu as it's so crispy but juicy inside. They also give complementary side dishes which cleanses the palate well. The area is very cozy and is such a cute place to take friends or for a date. read more
Korean is so different from other oriental foods, and I really enjoy going to Korea House to experience it. Of course we had the obligatory Bulgogi, which had very flavorful tender meat. I asked the friendly waiter for recommendations in the "shareables" section, and we ordered the "seafood Pajeon", a generous crepe-like dish, which was new to me, and quite delicious. Eh, unfortunately the "seafood" part is largely octopus, which is a species we should not eat, them being intelligent. Otherwise heartily recommended. read more

I love Korea House! By far, my favorite restaurant in Austin. I've been frequently coming with my boyfriend for the past couple of years and since then the servers have memorized our orders and are so kind and attentive. It really feels like home whenever we walk in!! The food is always great, the vibe is perfect, and the price point is super reasonable! I've brought friends and even in a group of 4 our bill never exceeds $100!! read more

My favorite locally owned Korean restaurant in town! They have a side for BBQ and a side for regular dining! We usually always do BBQ bc we love the smell and preparing it ourselves but the regular dine in section is much easier if you don't feel like cooking! We always do the bulgogi and a different meat to try. The sides are always so fresh/unlimited! The meat is great quality and great price as well! I wish they had more cocktails options but they do have beer and wine! The service is always great! I usually do togo for their japchae and mandoo and it's chefs kiss honestly! read more
I've been coming here for over 10 years. I watched this place grow as far as tables and shrink from the sushi bar they used to have. Not complaining about the sushi bar since it is a Korean restaurant. But I am sure the loyal customers still miss it. Either way they have expanded the seating area. So it's not as confined as used to be. The food here is still deliciously authentic Korean. They have the whole back area and side where you can grill your meal. I will say post COVID-19 this place has limited items compared to before. Tofu today was not on the appetizer list. Prices have increased dramatically due to inflation. But do not let The pandemic and inflation detour you from some great Korean food. I love this restaurant because it's been in the Austin area for quite some time. The place can be hard to find if you have never been here before so have your Google maps ready so you can find it easily. I still enjoy coming here and the staff are always friendly. My favorite is always the spicy pork bulgogi. read more
Visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon because of the Google reviews. Service was great, we got seated right away and there was plenty of space. The waiters were extremely nice and attentive. It didn't feel overcrowded and was very comfortable. For food...the food was OK! Not the best korean food I've had but not the worst. It's hard to put my finger on exactly what was different about this Korean food because something was just SLIGHTLY off about all of the food. Let's take banchan for example. The fish cakes were a bit too salty and the spicy cucumbers were a little too sour and spicy. The pork bibimbop was a little too sweet. The galbitang wasn't salty enough. Just small things here and there that weren't a big deal but enough to say it was just OK. I would probably try another place before I go back to this one. read more

I was craving Korean BBQ, so I decided to come here after work. First, the ambiance is great. I love the simplicity as well as the tucked away nature of the restaurant. I ordered the bibimbop bowl- it was SUPER tasty. The unfortunate part was very little meat, but overall the bowl plus the banchan was awesome. I ended up ordering bulgogi to go since I enjoyed my food so much. More to come on that part of the review. I'd like to come back and try the "cook it yourself" version. Those are always my favorite but it's 100% made for bigger parties than just myself. Ready to come back and I can't wait to try what's next! read more
Came here for the first time and I'm so glad we finally found a Korean restaurant in Austin that's decent. Loved their selection of banchans. We tried the fried mandu, galbitang, and some brisket dish on a skillet. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Apparently, they do free meals on Wednesdays which is such a lovely way to give back to the community. Will be coming here to support more often. read more

I'm so glad to see this restaurant getting more customers as they deserve. I was just there at their first every wednesday event where they give out free food to whoever needs it all day from 11-8, and it was amazing to see the turnout! Even though it was their first time everything was well prepared and thought out including the extra tables and chairs outside, and the food quality was just as good as usual amidst how busy they were. I was surprised to see how fast they were serving everyone. The servers are always so well coordinated and I had an amazing time. read more

We went on a busy Wednesday night for dinner. Food: 5/5 - If I could give it a 6/5 rating I would. The food was incredible. My favorite was definitely the Kimchi Fried Rice and the soup. I visited Korea earlier this year and I have to say the standard at Korea House was very comparable to that of the food I ate in Korea. While I could only choose from a select menu (they had a special deal that day), you really couldn't have gone wrong with any of the menu items. Everything was great! Service: There was only one waitress taking orders for the whole restaurant (given it's not huge), but there were definitely a lot of tables to juggle. Regardless, the service was still super swift. Superb job by the staff at Korea House! Ambiance: The restaurant is a little hidden, but it opens up to a courtyard with this beautiful pond. The inside of the restaurant is a cozy feel that's somewhere between a Tofu Stew restaurant and a KBBQ restaurant. read more

Nice restaurant tucked away in the corner of a plaza so it was a bit harder for us to find. The inside was cozy and the music was a nice touch and service was good as well. We ordered a kimchi pancake, bulgogi, seafood soup, and japchae. There were a variety of side dishes with the kimchi having a good amount of tanginess and spice. The japchae was chewy and was filled with a good amount of veggies and meat. The bulgogi was on the sweeter side and paired well with the rice. The kimchi pancake was very chewy and went well with the sauce that came with it. The soup was not as impressive as it seemed to be lacking in flavor although it was jam packed with zucchini, tofu and seafood. I really liked the Yuzu ade which was sweet and tart and very refreshing on a hot day. Regardless, this was a homey restaurant that satisfied our cravings and I will be back to try their other dishes in the future! read more

AMAZING From the food to the service to the environment it was all great!!! The woman in there that greeted us was so kind and they served us so well for a group of 14 coming in especially! The food was amazing, slightly more than Korean places I usually go to but nothing out of the ordinary! Highly recommend going here! They have korean bbq and amazing Korean food! The food was a bit pricey, but the vibes here were perfect. We got an outdoor table right next to the pond, which was probably the best table there. The restaurant's fairy lights were really pretty, and the music was so nice--it was very feel-good chill. We got the galbi and duck for KBBQ. The meat and side dishes were wonderful, although the galbi was overpriced for the quantity we were given. The wait time was about 40 minutes on a Sunday night, so I would make a reservation next time. read more
We were craving korean food and after hours of researching "authentic korean restaurants" in austin we came across this place and decided to give it a try. I'm so happy to say we enjoyed it! Long story short it fulfilled our korean cravings haha What we ordered: 1. Kimchi jjigae - 6/10. Not bad but not AMAZINGG. The pork isn't tender and it's pretty fatty so i decided to just take them out of my broth. The soup itself wasn't THAT deep but it was very average! I've definitely had worse jjigae soo i was happy with it this time. I appreciated that they added in a bunch of kimchi and tofu though! 2. Spicy pork - 7/10. My favorite dish out of them all! The sauce and seasoning was very greasy and gochujang heavy. I liked it! The portion size was tiny but the meat quality was also not bad! Ive again had worse pork so i was happy when i ate this. 3. Kimchi samgyupsal - 6.5/10. It was pretty salty and the meat was pretty fatty but again it was not bad! When i ate it with rice it def hit the spot! The banchan that came out also wasn't the freshest but it again hit the spot. It came out with all the usual (kimchi, sprouts, cucumbers, odeng, etc.) I've been reading a lot of reviews on how the service here is terrible but honestly the service wasn't bad. A friend invited me here for dinner and I'm definitely going back! The service was great, staff were friendly, and the food was very fresh and tasty. We ordered from the Korean BBQ menu, which requires that you prefer 2 meats, and we got the thinly sliced ribeye and the spicy marinated pork. These came with a giant spread, including a side of Ssam (lettuce, garlic, jalapeño and sauce), upon request. We also got kimchi dumplings to start. The appetizer was my least favorite but we absolutely loved everything else and left no crumbs! If you don't like spicy food, stay away from anything that looks spicy because it will be hot lol. I've been spoiled with great KBBQ while growing up in California, so I was hesitant to try the KBBQ in Austin. My boyfriend and I came here on recommendation of a friend and originally ordered pork belly and beef brisket. Many reviews here say the service is lacking, but I genuinely believe it's simply a language barrier and cultural difference. They may not acknowledge what you're saying, but they will get whatever you need eventually if you ask. It seems that they misheard us and accidentally gave us pork bulgogi instead of beef brisket, but we decided to give the pork bulgogi a try anyway. We also asked for lettuce to make bossam, pork wraps, and it came with bean paste, garlic, and jalapeños as well. The pork is definitely on the meatier than fatty side. I prefer fattier meats because it's more flavorful, but the pork belly was still decent. We weren't a fan of the pork bulgogi because the marinade was too sweet. We asked for rice paper to try to cut the sweetness, but they don't serve rice paper here, unfortunately. The KBBQ also comes with a bunch of banchan side dishes that has a homemade taste. They also give a decent amount of meat to share among 2-3 people, though too expensive for what it is. We ended up taking the rest of the food to-go and hopefully salvage it at home. I have no idea why Korea House has such a mediocre rating. This is definitely one of Austin's gems. My boyfriend and I love Korean food, but we have only found one good restaurant that is our go-to. However, after visiting Korea House twice last weekend (yes, twice. It was just that good), this place will now be one of our most frequented restaurants. Firstly, their customer service is superb. I first came here with a group of 8 people, and they were incredibly attentive and came frequently to check up on us, switch our grill, and refill our waters. We experienced a very similar customer service our second time around. A different waiter served us, but he was just as kind and helpful. Secondly, it really feels more like a modern restaurant. I read some of the earlier reviews and it seemed like they did some renovation, but they have a pretty aesthetic interior! I would describe it as a minimalistic and natural vibe. Thirdly, their food is all incredible. Their banchan is sooo good. Our favorites are their kimchi, sweet potatoes, and cucumbers. I personally am not a fan of kimchi, but I couldn't help but reach for more. My boyfriend and I have a Korean restaurant that we always go to when we're in NYC because they have some of the best galbi we've ever had, but Korea House has galbi that is honestly very on par with their quality and taste. I highly recommend ordering their $28 marinated galbi set because it comes with lettuce wraps. Two orders for two people should be enough. I would rather pay that price than the $80-90 my boyfriend and I were paying in NYC for mediocre banchan and smaller quantities of galbi. Their other food is really good too. We've tried their seafood jigae and stir fried squid, and both were awesome. Trust me, you can't go wrong with this place. I was so excited to write this review because I believe in supporting delicious small businesses, and Korea House has got to be somewhere you visit if you love Korean food. read more

Which banchan do they have? I love when there's ssamjang and the little bits of garlic.
Not good, I can't recommend this place. Very disappointed on last visit. Nothing was the same. Ban Chan was slim and tasteless.
Are the BBQ tables only for large parties? Or could I get a BBQ table for 2 people?
