When my coworker and I arrived, there was only one other table at the restaurant. We ordered the crying tiger and a crispy pork belly dish to share. We waited for our food for a long time! Probably over an hour! Each time the dishes came out of the kitchen, they went to the other table. At one point, our waiter was walking by saying sorry, and that the food was coming soon. When we finally got our food, we really got to enjoy the flavor, the crispiness of the pork skin, and the different sauces that they've prepared for dipping! My coworker and I remarked that the food was delicious! The sticky rice came in a little straw box. It got dry since we both took it out of the plastic wrapper, though, so keep the rice wrapped up to enjoy the texture more! The crying tiger came with perilla leaf. I love wrapping meat with the perilla leaf - it tastes so fresh. We also ordered the mango sticky rice. The coconut cream sauce was perfect on the sticky rice. The mango was simply sliced, so we had to scoop it off of the mango skin. Overall, I can't take two hour lunch breaks, especially during the week days. The food must be prepared to order, which has its pros and cons.

Even the cart on the street could do better work than a fancy one. So, walking into PIN Wok & Bowl I thought it would be worth the try. It could not be a bad choice. And it was not. It was authentic in many ways. Walking in we sat down and the gentleman came over with the menu and water. We took a lok and could not decide. It all sounded great. We knew we needed to have some dumplings to start. After that it was a touch choice. I was not decided so I asked what he would recommend if he had to decide. He told me he would get the RAINBOW BOWL. That was one of my choices. Placing the order we waited. And not for long. Out came the STEAMED PORK DUMPLING. It was well packed and had the correct dipping sauce. With my sticks in hand I picked one up, gave it a dip and tried. It was ideal. Think and rich. Well seasoned. Slightly warm and moist. It was perfect and just enough to give you a taste of what is ahead. And that did not take long. Up next we had the order. First was the RAINBOW POKE BOWL. This was a combination of tuna, salmon, cucumber slices, shredded carrot and red cabbage, a good portion of edamame, flakes of scallion, tobiko with kinchi sauce and a touch of sesame seed spicy mayo. It was wonderful. We also had Unagi Bowl, which is not easy to find. This was combination of BBQ eel, tamago, crab, shredded red cabbage, edamame, masago, with eel sauce sesame seed and scallion. Very traditional. And, as with the Rainbow bowl, the fish was very fresh. There was no problem eating it. It was a great meal, and at a great price. The team were perfect. And it does get a crowd of local people. Just as you would find if you were in. Thailand, Vietnam or in Japan. That is what is special. It is a combination itself with the food from the region which was always a mix of various meals that are combined and seasoned as one. It was like being living back in that area of the world. I already have an idea of what I will get next time I go. And, if I didn't I would just as one of the people there. They would recommend what they might order for themselves that day.
