First, I got their appetizer sampler. The spring rolls are small and have no filling. These are clearly store bought and not fresh. The rangoon and fried potstickers are fine. The panang curry is way too watery and lacking in flavor. It also was filled with just cucumbers, which is quite unlike the standard vegetables that are put in these curries at other Thai restaurants in the US as well as in Thailand. The pad Thai was clumpy and the flavor was off. This was still, however, the best tasting dish out of all of them, but it left a lot to be desired. The chicken is quite tough and rubbery. This place is FANTASTIC. My husband and I just enjoyed the freshest, best sushi of our lives. I'm pregnant and they have so many cooked rolls to accommodate!! Thought I'd try to eat something besides soup so ordered some tofu pad Thai thru GrubHub, which strangely came with a side choice, so I opted for egg fried rice. This is a pretty bad example of each. Who puts cabbage in pad Thai?! Omg. It's a horrible combination and had to be removed. The tofu was obviously cooked on the side and then thrown in as it was rubbery and had no sauce on it. The noodles and sauce themselves were good but talk about overkill. Sliced carrots and broccoli wouldn't be bad if they weren't in huge chunks and just offset the texture of the dish. While in St. Petersburg for training, I stayed nearby and had no desire to drive around, attempting to find food to eat for dinner after sitting in a classroom for 9 hours. I utilized many delivery services for my dining needs. I found Bangkok on one of those sites. I will say I enjoyed their food so much, I ordered from them twice. The food was made perfectly. The delivery issues I experienced had nothing to do with the restaurant themselves, but the service picking the food up for me. I highly recommend this place and would definitely eat here again if ever in the St Pete area again. I'd pick it up myself though. I'm not an expert on Sushi rolls. This place has awesome specialty sushi rolls. We ordered three specialty sushi rolls: Volcano, Captain, and the James Bond roll were all awesome rolls. We also ordered some meals: Green Curry, Chicken pad Thai, and spring rolls for appetizers. Every thing was awesome but definitely prefer the sushi rolls. The only thing I did not care for were the boba in the Thai tea. Not as jelly soft as I usually like it. Drink was awesome just not the boba. Everyone who worked here were all awesome and friendly. The side was egg fried rice and it was decent ;clumpy , so i could grab it with the chopsticks. The Pad kee mao was really good with the heat and spices perfect to light up my taste buds. After i ate it i was full, totally satiated and, happy. The inside was small and clean and plenty of light from the windows, and i only got takeout because 30 minutes isn't enough lunchtime. I have been over in this little strip mall a few times grabbing a sandwich from one of the other places before I always walked by here and thought about stopping in. Today I did. All of the reviews are pretty much spot on; good Thai food, lots of choices, quick service and large portions! It is fast casual so place your order, get a number then take a seat and wait. If you are going for lunch I suggest getting there a little before noon as the line was long and stayed long until I left at about 1245. I got the vegetable spring rolls and a 'small' chicken pad Thai. Spring rolls were fresh and crispy and started the meal on the right note. They even brought them out a little early which was good to get me started. Then comes the 'small' pad Thai. Huge portion! I could not imagine how much food is in the medium or large version! This was piping hot heat wise. Noodles cooked perfect with lots of really great flavors. The heat was medium but I needed a little more so I added the hot that was available at the counter. This was a slow burn as by the time I was done my pores were pretty clean! The dining area is small but tables were available all the time as it appears the majority pick up and go. I wanted to not the tables were very comfortable. They had a soft top that made them soft. I was thinking to take away a star as the price seemed a bit high but think of the portion sizes for both items I got I think it was well worth it. Really great spot for some good Thai food. Today I was craving sushi. I wasn't feeling the best so didn't want to lose the loungewear and migrate into the living. In the past 3 weeks I've had major issues with UberEATS from missing food, deliveries that are almost an hour past latest delivery time, to deliveries made to the wrong location and drivers not answering calls or vm to never receive the order. Can I just ask..... can a top Yelp elite make it to where we can review Uber?! Maybe then they can see the reviews that everyone else sees since they don't give you a number to talk to an actual person. Uber drivers have been far in between lately on service! Either way, I took my chance again and ordered sushi. The prices were ok. Not too high priced but the reason I tried this restaurant was because they had a buy one get one free deal on apps. I ordered the Captain roll which is supposedly the most popular roll. I was looking for a deep fried roll but this was close enough. Even after I poured on all the sauces, each piece held up and didn't crumble while eating. It was moist and lightly crispy. The apps.... I ordered the most popular item which is the deep fried avocado and coconut shrimp. The shrimp portion was to be expected. Ok in size but slightly over priced. They were crispy and delicious with the spicy Mayo and sweet chili dipping sauces. The popular deep fried avocado came in a heaping amount!! One order could easily be shared with 3-4 people! Each piece was cooked but still firm enough to hold, dip, and indulge! It was nice with the same sauces but think it would've paired better with a creamier aioli sauce or ranch. My overall experience was very satisfying! I got my fix with a TON of leftovers. This restaurant will definitely stay on my radar for the future! It's a must try! I started a new job in Pinellas County a couple weeks ago so I need to find some new Asian places for lunch. After reading some reviews, I chose to check out Bangkok Express. As another reviewer put it, the portions are huge and when you ask for it "Thai Hot" you are going to get what you ask for. On my first trip, I tried the medium lunch plate (you choose your entree and a side) and it was enough for two meals. Also, I usually order my food Thai Hot and it was seriously the hottest Thai food I have ever had. Almost too hot to eat! On my following visits, I ordered the small lunch plate and got it Hot. It was still plenty hot enough for me and again, I eat very spicy food regularly. I have tried the drunken noodles (Pad Se-ew?) with chicken, the green curry with chicken and the ginger chicken as well as the Tom Kha soup with chicken. I liked all of it. On all three occasions, I ordered it to go. The first two times, I went on a Wednesday, had a minimal line and a minimal wait to get my food and be out the door. Maybe 15 minutes tops. Today (Friday) I ordered it before I left work, and even though my food was ready when I got there, I had to wait in a longer line to pay for it. Basically I had to wait with people ordering their food because they have one register and only one person who works the credit card machine. I still had to wait 15 minutes. While that doesn't seem like a long time, ordering it in advance is supposed to make it quicker. I did ask the cashier if I could pay in advance and he said yes, you just have to say so when you order. Now I know. I will go back again and again, but I will probably try not to go on a Friday, as that seems to be their busiest day, and when I order take out, I will ask to pay in advance. read more

I like the concept of Bangkok Express and think the food is pretty decent here. They are quick and efficient at lunch time and have some cheap options to choose from. I have ordered quite a few different dishes from here in the past but my the best ones were the ones I chose today: tom yum soup and the chicken pad kee mow with jasmine rice off of the lunch menu. I ordered both Thai Hot since I was feeling under the weather and after 10 glasses of water, I was full and sweating! They are definitely one of the hotter Thai Hot restaurants I've been to, but I'm not I love hot - Thai hot dishes. The Chicken Pad Kee Mow was the perfect sized portion and one of my favorite drunken noodles I've tried. It felt kind of skimped on the chicken, but had plenty of veggies. It was awesome! The Tom Yum Soup was really, really great. It was the perfect Thai hot and the lemon grass really complimented the spiciness. Overall, this is a great lunch spot for take out or dine in. Huge portions ftw. It is almost four hours past when I ate lunch here and I am still stuffed. I even took home half the meal to go. What type of wizardry is this that they charge around $10 for a "medium" size plate and you get a meal that could feed you, your significant other, your sister, your parents, and your dog. Ok, probably not that many people, but my eyes did bug a little when the plate came out. I usually opt for a small size whenever ordering anything because I'm dainty like that (ok, usually I go home and eat more food), but today I decided I wanted to try the Pad See Ew and the Green Curry which put me squarely in the court of trying a Medium Plate. I figured I could take the rest home, which I did. It is a super easy ordering system. Small = one entrée, Medium = two entrees, Large = three entrees, all come with one side. Since a Medium was about $1.50 more I figured I would indulge my gluttony and allow myself to try two entrees. I should have gone with the small, but at least I have dinner tonight. We started with the Chicken Potstickers. They were crispy and good. The entrees definitely stole the show. The Green Curry has a little bit of a kick to it. If you decide to go with a curry you may want to choose rice as your side. I ended up eating my curry more as a soup and I'll make rice later (since I still have half of it). The Pad See Ew portion was humongous. I didn't even feel like I ended up making a dent! I went with tofu as my "meat". I think it was fried. It had a sturdy texture to it. They also have sushi and boba drinks. I want to come back to try both of them. Service is phenomenal. They are an order at the counter restaurant and yet they still managed to make sure my glass of water was never empty!
