Went here for lunch and got two sushi lunch specials and edamame. The edamame was well cooked and fresh. I got the karate roll (eel, tuna and avocado) and the Mexican roll. Both were six pieces each and it was enough to fill me up. We each got a side of meat tempura with our special. I didn't care for the fish tempura but the chicken tempura was good. My boyfriend got the salmon tempura roll and chicken tempura roll. I tried both, I loved the chicken tempura roll but was not a fan of the salmon. The salmon seemed bland to me. He liked both the rolls but it didn't fill him up enough so we got him food afterwards too. Overall good sushi, the rice was super fresh. As for the decor, the place is super dated. The tables you could tell haven't been replaced in a while and are kind of sticky. The ceiling is an interesting sponged black and blue look and the light panels have what seemed like a black piece of paper in them to make the lighting darker. I wasn't impressed with the look of the place at all. The menu was blocked off in a good amount of places with little white pieces of paper so that probably needs to be updated as well. The sushi is always great. Sometimes the sides (Veggie Tempura) is really greasy. They have a great lunch special and a dinner special. Not much seating so we usually always take to go. For $7 at lunch, you can get two rolls (or substitute some nigiri) plus a side like veggie tempura. For a mere $10 at dinner, you can get THREE rolls and/or nigiri plus a side plus miso soup. Most of the sushi is quite good, and they're generous with the options you can pick from. And with avocado. They have cooked options including some Korean entrees that seemed interesting, but I haven't branched out from sushi combos yet. This place has the best sushi deals I've found in the area. Sure, it's not high quality top shelf rolls, but the seafood is fresh and the sushi is tasty. Their 7 dollar lunch comes with two rolls and a side app and their dinner comes with three rolls, a side app and soup for 10 bucks. Can't beat it. I have yet to try their Korean dishes as I usually always stick to the sushi, but they do look tasty! There is not much room on the inside, maybe three or four tables, but I usually get mine to go. Once or twice a month my husband and I, along with a friend go out and try to find a new restaurant. Last night our intent was to try out the new Osaka's sushi and Thai. When we arrived we were very surprised to find this location was closed on a Sunday. Despite our skepticism we decided to go in. Once inside you could see just how small and empty the place really was. Not only that it was extremely quiet. NO music or sounds at all. Still skeptical we sat down and decided to try it and boy am I glad we did! The waitress that came to our table spoke very little English but she was very polite and understood everything that we ordered. My husband and I decided to split a Chicken Teriyaki bowl for $7.99. That chicken bowl is one of the best meals I've ever had at a sushi place! The chicken was tender and juicy with the sauce being very sweet and smokey. The broccoli and green beans were nice and crisp and the rice was perfectly cooked. Next our table ordered 7 rolls of sushi. We had the California, Tampa Roll, Volcano roll and a few others that our friend had ordered. We ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for the sushi and it made me glad we ordered the chicken bowl first. The sushi was very good. Some fancy and some very plain. All in all it was fresh and delicious. Our favorite ended up being the Volcano. It was fresh and baked with a bunch of yummy gooeyness! From the outside (and the inside) this place doesn't look like much but I am telling you to go out and try it! This restaurant serves probably my favorite fried rice. It's cooked with sesame oil, instead of soy sauce. I am vegan, so I ask mine with tofu. Their spring rolls are delicious too! I haven't tried other plates with them since most include some type of meat. Portions are really good too; I always eat half of my fried rice and end up eating the other half on next day. I normally use chopsticks to eat sushi but since it was SO soggy, I had to use a fork and even then half the time it didn't make it to my mouth before falling apart. There are quite a few sushi competitors in the area. This place isn't on the high end of Japanese cuisine. With that said, I thought it was worth the price we paid.
