Amazing! I'm very, very sensitive to pain so I have been putting off Microblading for the longest time. However, after seeing my friend get her brows done with Minji, I was sold! Minji is so sweet and attentive, and really listens to what you want/how you feel. I would let her know the numbing medicine is wearing off and she would wait and put more until I felt comfortable enough to move forward. I got my brows microbladed for the first time a little over 4 weeks ago, I really wanted to give a detailed review with photos of my healed brows so I had a bit of patience for this review. I absolutely love my brows, although they do need a touch up which I'll be getting today! I was super nervous about getting something semi permanent on my face. I was also worried about the pain but Minji made sure I was comfortable and constantly reassured me through out the entire time. She talked through the process and explained what she was doing. We stopped couple times during the procedure so that I could check out my brows and make sure it was exactly how I wanted. After the session Minji explained about the healing process, which wasn't much but she told me to message her anytime if I had a question. So for the healing process, it took me longer than most people. I was told that it takes about 2 weeks for it to completely heal? Or at least the surface area, like the scabs and stuff. For me, it took me an extra week but everyone is different and my brows healed fine. Most of the ink stayed, but there are some areas that did not take or aren't as deep as other areas and I'll be going in to fix this for the second session today. There were some itching but the ointment Minji gave helped. My skin type is combination but I get oily around my brows so I figured the lines would blur, but surprisingly it didn't really. Like I can see lines lol. Minji told me, when I clean them, to use water and then to make sure that they're completely dried afterwards. She said the ointments are an option but to avoid anything else from touching my brows especially during the first week. Minji is so talented and literally the sweetest. Honestly, she was so nice and accommodating, I really did feel comfortable during the whole experience. Also, I really liked her brows, which she microbladed herself! read more

TRUST THE PROCESS!! Like many others, I struggled with my eyebrows every morning for years. I overplucked in college, so my hair won't grow where I want it to grow. Even though I do have a good amount of brow hair, it's too light, so I would always color in my brows. I can never seem to make my brows look natural... it would be so obvious that I drew them and because of my heavy hand, they would look like sharpie brows! I finally built up the courage to get my eyebrows microbladed. I looked at so many other places, but was worried that I would get too much of a "western" look. I was looking for something more natural and more "Korean" so that my brows would shape my face more naturally. I found this place while literally searching "Korean microblading" and I'm so glad I did! Minji was such a pleasure to text before making my appointment. I was running late to my first appointment (blame the MTA!) and I was so worried because I had an evening appointment and I didn't want to hold up her schedule/night, but she was so reassuring and helped me catch my breath. She was even more fantastic in person! I have a LOT of fears - pain, shape, etc. Minji calmed me down a lot and talked me through the entire process. She even used her own eyebrows to help me visualize and ultimately achieve what I really wanted (I was having a hard time putting my wants in words!). The whole thing really feels like a slight scratch on your face. No pain whatsoever. I honestly think the most "painful" part of this experience was plucking some of my stray hairs. I'm telling you, I freak out at pain, but this was nothing at all. After the "procedure", I freaked out at how dark my eyebrows were (the darkness is completely normal) and Minji helped calm me down (again, I have a LOT of fears haha). But the shape - the shape was perfect!! Exactly what I wanted. I was too scared to hold the handheld mirror that Minji provides, but after I saw what she did, I couldn't let go! I started to really enjoy the whole process and she encouraged me to let her know any changes I wanted. The healing process was surprisingly not so bad. My coworker showed me pictures of her healing process when she had her eyebrows microbladed somewhere else, and I almost cried. The pictures showed her eyebrows getting super flaky and then turning white/no eyebrows. BUT - I didn't have that "ugly phase". My brows flaked off almost all at once, but some of the color had already retained, so I never looked like I didn't have any eyebrows. The "dark phase" only lasted about 5 days for me. My next appointment is finally coming up this Friday!! My left eyebrow is almost perfect, but my right eyebrow definitely needs some extra color. I have extremely oily skin, which Minji and I had talked about. More online research showed that oily skin will definitely affect the microblading process (color doesn't retain as well), but with what I have now, I know that I put my face and brows in the right hands. I've been raving about Minji to my coworkers who are marveling at how fast and nice my healing process was. Everyone can already see the shape and have noticed how my eyebrows have a nice color (so I look human now!!!!). Definitely pay a visit to Minji - she will take care of you and your brows. read more

I am soooo glad to find Minji at Korean Microblading. At first, I was a little worried because this place didn't have many yelp reviews. But after the 1st session, I really love the amazing work Minji did! I came from Korea and it was so hard to find the right microblading place in NYC that knows how to do proper eyebrow for Asians. I wanted my eyebrows to have small sized arch and the overall shape to be something between arch and straight. I showed bunch of pictures to Minji and she totally got it. She showed me what kind of inks (I used two colors) we would use before we start. During the process Minji let me look at the mirror more than 15 times so that I can get the right eyebrow. She was not only professional but also cheerful and kind. It is so convenient that I don't have to draw my eyebrows every morning and have beautiful natural looking eyebrow!! i'd been looking for the right microblading studio in nyc for a couple of months, because i was very particular about finding a beautician who did NOT create severe, dark eyebrows that look overdrawn and obviously tattooed, or eyebrows in too trendy a style that may go out of fashion. i wanted natural looking, well-defined eyebrows, and the application requires some artistry. two hours after my procedure, i can already tell minji's work is great. she improved the messy arch of my eyebrows without making them unnaturally boxy/straight, and both eyebrows are neat and even. i'm totally thrilled with this improvement -- so much nicer than my struggling to pencil or powder in some definition every morning! and they'll look even better when their dark tone fades a bit. i'm not experiencing any swelling, but the reaction depends on your skin, so if you are self-conscious about leaving with redness or highly pigmented eyebrows, bring a baseball cap. :) i was also afraid of the pain beforehand, but i felt only mild surface scratching! minji asked me to find photos of "goal eyebrows" before my appointment and you can do the same. she will work with you to find the right eyebrow shape and shade to complement you. and don't forget to either read online or consult minji about the healing process so you don't get scared when the color fades or scabbing occurs. her office will be moving soon so make sure you double check the location of your appointment with her. i totally recommend minji! she's lovely, friendly, talented, and professional, and her advocacy for cancer patients is admirable. read more
