I went to the color lab to do something about these eyebrows. I was not disappointed. I went with a combination brow which is micro blading & shading. My technician Alex was so sweet and patient with me, not to mention she did a hell of a job. She does a mapping of your face so you can see what it will look like before she proceeds. The strokes look like natural hair and the shading is just enough. She also sent me home with everything I needed for the healing process. The place was spotless from reception to the working area. Very Covid friendly. The owner followed up with me the next day to make sure I was satisfied in every way. She also went over the healing process again. A+ service. read more

I went to Color Lab NYC for a facial, extractions, and dermaplaning on 10/21/2022. This was my second time going to CL NYC but first time being serviced by the owner. I had a wonderful experience the first time with her employee, Kate. Unfortunately this second experience has turned into a nightmare. The extractions left new open cuts, one which has now turned into a keloid. I also now have significantly more hyperpigmentation than what I came in with. Excess hair was also left around the side upper corners of my face (between the brow bone and temples). This excess hair gives the illusion of dark circles since skin with and without hair look very different. The effect is even worse with makeup and now I am forced to wear makeup to cover the excessive hyperpigmentation from the aggressive extraction method. I never leave reviews but I feel inclined to warn everyone I know. This healing process will take time and now I have to accept having a keloid on my face. I was refunded only after having to file a claim with my bank. But receiving a refund does not even begin to make up for the emotional trauma and having a keloid on my face now. It took me a long time to find the right person who listen to my needs and work with me to create a brow shape that I felt comfortable with. I do not wear very much make up day today and wanted a very natural look. Nneka was initially recommended to me in 2017 by a couple of friends who had gone to see her - I had an initial consultation and first procedure. i have been going here for years to get my brows done. getting a semi-permanent tattoo on your face is a BIG DEAL and i would not trust this to just anyone. nneka has been absolutely amazing and i have always been happy with my results. i've gotten numerous compliments on my brows over the years and people are always surprised to find out is a cosmetic tattoo because it looks natural and tasteful. she takes the time to understand what you want, talk to you about the process, and speak with you about any questions or reservations you might have. she's also really invested in having the right training and professional expertise, and keeping up-to-date as new information emerges about certain procedures, which i appreciate. i haven't had any services aside from brows, but i wholeheartedly recommend her if that's what you're looking for! read more

I heard nothing but good things about this place but I was hesitant to let anybody do my brows since I've been going to the same person for over 15years. How I ended up here was due to the fact that my eyebrow lady left the shop I was going to, so it was time for me to try someplace else. I got to the salon a bit before 9 and my technician was there and ready for me, I had the best experience with Kate this morning. We had really good conversation and she made me feel comfortable and secure with my decision to try a new eyebrow place. Kate did an amazing job tinting and shaping my brows. Kate worked with the shape I already had and used the perfect tint color, I will be back in 2-3 weeks. I must say this has made my decision easier to move forward with microblading which I will get done once the summer is over. read more

Since the business apparently deleted my google review, I will repost it here: The artist shaved off most of my natural brow and tattooed far above the brow line - this created a more severe look and left me with sparse, stubbled brows under the microblading. I blame myself for not doing enough research about what I want; I trusted her with the shape instead of standing my ground when I had concerns. They were impatient with my hesitancy, and that's when I should have known to walk away. I now believe microblading is approached far too casually in general, and I've learned the lesson to pamper my natural brows before resorting to something so invasive to my face. It's been a month and I've now spent $1000 removing their work with saline (48 hour emergency removal) and PhiRemoval scheduled  4 weeks later; the people I consulted for these procedures confirmed that the tattooing should not have been done so high and the maximum natural brow should have been preserved. I'm keeping hope that the pigment will be removed and my brows will grow back, it's taking a lot of patience.. and hats. My eyelash lady for years finally left the Spa I went to in Queens. I live in the BX, but I like to do business with the same individual I have a repor with, I don't care about the distance. My girlfriend got her brows from Color Lab which were totally 5star done in BX. She referred me there for my lashes. BIG DIFFERENCE, BIG MISTAKE!. Bklyn location does lashes, and a whole different person would be doing it. Not the same lady who did my friends Brows. Anyway, I went to the Brooklyn location where a sweet young Asian gal name Kate did my lashes. This was supposed to be a new set HYBRID $140 as advertised on website. 1st off ...She did not remove my old lashes which she had not put on. 2nd she told me she didn't even have the sizes I mentioned I used with my previous artist which were Cs & Js. NO Js...The whole time my eyes were burning and watering and the smell extremely strong of whatever used. I had never experienced that during the time Ive gotten my lashes done EvER. My lashes were not Full in appearance at all when she finished, and I left feeling like I drove in an hr traffic for nothing. its been a week. 1week. and almost all the lashes are gone from my eyes. $140 NEVER AGAIN! New customer, she didn't even check in with me to see how they are NADA. I'm never goin back read more
