This is a basic diner that is clearly a local fave. We found it on Yelp as we are visiting Ottawa…read morethis weekend. The food was done as requested (eggs were actually over easy). The staff are friendly, even tho they are kept busy on their feet! The place is busy and so it was loud but it was clean. Steps to get in tho if you have mobility device.

Showed up here on a Saturday mid-morning after visiting Crappy Tire and the place was busy, but…read morecertainly not at capacity as there was at least four 4-seater tables open and a couple of two seaters right in front of the door. No line-ups. We weren't keen on sitting by the door due to the draft coming in. We were told we had to wait for a two-seater because they didn't want us to take up a four seat table. We're like wtf??? I can see this if you the hot new restaurant in town and huge demand, but quite literally there was four 4-seat tables sitting empty and no line-up. In any event, we stayed, sitting in some two-seater jammed in the corner. And then we ordered a breakfast. I'm a Ozempic user, so I don't eat much - I was going to take an egg, a piece of bacon, and a couple of potatoes from my wife's plate. Oh - can't do that. There's a $2 "sharing charge". Like, wtf? I'm done with this place and their stupid policies. The food is typical diner fair that you can get any diner, nothing special here.

As a brunch enthusiast, I knew I had to try out Mazarine after reading the reviews. The place…read moreitself was a decent size with a few seating options, but as many mentioned before, be prepared for a wait. My sister and I came around 11:30am and put our names on the electronic waitlist. We're a party of 2 and was about 9th in line with an approximate wait time of 60 minutes. While waiting, we decided to walk to Chinatown to explore. I would say that 60 mins is common and expected for most brunch places in every city. I'm from Toronto and this is the same there. I was able to track the waitlist on my phone easily and started heading back when we were 4th in line. The menu is quite limited, but they had all of the classic brunch items available, plus Shashuka. I wasn't feeling too hungry by the time we sat down, so I opted for the mushroom and cheese omelet with an espresso salted honey latte on the side. My sister got the classic breakfast. The latte was quite on the bitter side, but I'm okay with that. The omelet was cheesy, delicious and didn't feel too heavy. The potatoes were crispy as well. I enjoyed my meal. Overall, a solid brunch spot.

One of the few brunch spots in Ottawa so it was absolutely packed on a Saturday. They have an…read moreonline waitlist system in place that gives you a text when your table is ready so we went and explored a bit of the city while waiting for a table. The shop is really cute, bright, and feels like a mom and pops kind of place. They have a small selection of brunch offerings but a rather expansive drink menu, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Got the Classic Breakfast (15), which is your typical toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, potato brunch. Everything was just decent. It's a lot of food and I definitely felt I got my money's worth portion wise. Great atmosphere but be ready for a long waittime!
