We stopped in for an early lunch on Saturday with 2 adults and 4 kids. We chose the hot pot option only. They had plenty of meats, seafood, and pot stickers to choose from, but not many vegetable options. When the bill came, I was a bit shocked because the kid prices were much higher than what was advertised at the entrance (charged $17.99 instead of $12.99). After paying and leaving, I went back to the front desk to double-check, and I was definitely overcharged. When I tried to show the woman at the counter, she was very rude and chose to argue with me about my kids' ages instead of noticing that we had been accidentally charged the hot pot/BBQ price. Thankfully, our very kind server came over at the perfect time and explained that we were mistakenly charged the wrong price. The manager stepped in and fixed it quickly, which I really appreciated. Mistakes happen, and the staff handled the correction well--but they may want to consider a different person for the front counter. Customer service might not be the right fit for her, especially since I wasn't rude at all.

The options were plentiful and so delicious! I definitely recommend the short ribs they were so yummy! The service was very quick since this was a solo dinner. Now knowing everyone gets their own pot I would definitely go again in a group. Oooooo and the sauce bar, make sure to check it out!

This is what Madison has been missing! I went during lunch where it is all you can eat for $20.99 which is a great deal. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the ventilation was superb, the service was great, and it's a beautiful clean place! I will be back again.

Korill Hut on the east side was pretty dang good! As someone who is part Korean I LOVEEE Korean food. I've been feeling like I wasn't able to get good KBBQ while out in Wisconsin (I'm from NJ) but then finally took myself to this newISH restaurant. I really appreciated their selection of sides and sauce options as those are very crucial parts of Korean bbq. The meat options were also endless with options including steak, salmon, and more! The only issue I have is that my favorite side includes steamed eggs and they did not have that. Otherwise, amazing food@ Now, I have to try their hot pot next.

Really good food, and friendly waiters/waitresses. Can't wait to come back and try the BBQ.

Love that they offer several varieties for hot pot broth, other places have only a spicy and non spicy but this place had three of each.

We got the end of the brisket they were currently cutting, so likely had been cut hours before and left which likely lead it to be dry. The chicken was ok, not much flavor and was on the drier side. The sausage was the best option we tried, good balance of flavor. The cornbread was also dry. The potato salad had good flavor. The Mac and cheese was the best thing we tried. I'd comeback for the sausage and Mac and cheese. Service 3/5: this is an order at the counter and sit down style. We had never been here before and overall did not feel helped when we were ordering. The staff just started at us and asked what we wanted instead of helping us walk through the steps of how to order (meat first and then you choose your sides). It got challenging because there was a growing line and many of us felt the same way of not really knowing what to order. I had to ask for extra plates for our kiddos, and was a little confused about extra condiments and things that were available in the restaurant. Ambiance 4/5: the restaurant was clean and plenty of places to sit. We were in the restaurant with another family with kids, and our kiddos ended up doing friendly dinosaur roads to the family across the restaurant. We all had a really good laugh. Overall most of the meat was dry but we liked some of the sides. The staff could have been more helpful in ordering. This is a kid friendly restaurant in our experience and had plenty of room to accommodate larger parties.

What I got in reality was a microwaved (or maybe boiled?) pound of brisket instead. Tasted terrible - wish I would have just lit my $90 on fire so I'd at least get 15 seconds of enjoyment from it. These ribs were as good as any I've had around the country, and better than most. Some places brag about "fall of the bone tender." To me that is overcooked. Ribs should be "fairly easily coaxed off the bone tender. The need a little bit of chew to them or the are too dry. Smokey Jon's ribs were just right. Now the rest. The barbecue beans were very good. I put a little brisket burnt ends in when I make them. That would have improved these to top notch. I usually shy away from barbecue joint mac and cheese but I ordered it here. Hey, I'm in Wisconsin. It's got to be at least ok. It was better than just ok. It had a generous amount of cheese and the symtickiness that good Mac and cheese must have. For my taste, it had too much garlic. I'm a big garlic fan. When I see a recipe that says "one clove of garlic," I figure it's a misprint and they meant "one head of garlic." Here, they used powdered garlic, and I feel like the amount they used covered up the natural sweetness of the cheese. The ambiance of the place was spot on. I am visiting Madison, from Oregon (Go Ducks!) Driving by the place it looks like they've got to have at least passible 'cue. Inside it was classic back woods barbecue chic. "Log cabin" looking interior walls, red and white checkered plastic table cloths, and great old school blues on the sound system. Is this place perfect? No, won't get that until you pass through the Pearly Gates. But it's about as good as your going to get anywhere else, unless you come over to my back yard on 4th of July.

Unfortunately, Smokey Joe's doesn't have collard greens, but their mac and cheese is one of the best I have ever eaten. The consistency is perfect- creamy but not soupy. They use real cheese and it has perfect seasoning . The sugar biscuits were amazing as well. I got the burnt end plate and it was the perfect amount of meat and fat ratio. The meat should be tasty without BBQ sauce and Smoky Jon didn't dissapoint- the BBQ sauce was tangy with just the right amount of spice. Yet, the meat was absolutely delicious without it- the BBQ sauce complimented the meat. Also super nice people. I would definitely come here again. This is in the top 5 of my favorite BBQ resturaunts and judging by all the awards and trophys on the wall, I'm not alone in that opinion.

It looked pretty popular with a decent number of people dining in and a bunch of others picking up orders. The girl at the counter was super friendly and helpful because I had no idea how to order lol. She made a few recommendations and even helped adjust my random items into a combo for us. Prices are fair, ordered 3 meats and 2 sides for like ~$50. We got ribs, brisket, and pulled pork along with cornbread and mac and cheese, and it came with a fountain drink. Food came out pretty quickly, we didn't have to wait long. One thing I thought was fun was the bell by the door that you can ring if you had a good experience. We rang it on the way out and got a bunch of cheers from inside haha. The ribs were big, meaty, and cooked well. The brisket wasn't really my favorite, and the pulled pork was a little hit or miss since some bites were way saltier than others. We tried both the mild and spicy bbq sauces, and the spicy wasn't too spicy. Overall, a perfectly solid casual bbq spot.

I think my pulled pork sandwich, two sides (cole slaw and fries) and a drink pushed $17. That's more than I prefer to spend on lunch, but I was going out with some work friends and felt like treating myself. And it was, indeed, a treat! The pulled pork was very good - not overly fatty or anything. Good flavor. I tried the "original" and "sweet city" sauces - both were very good and not overpowering. The fries were good - a little greasy (but "good greasy" if there is such a thing). The creamy cole slaw confused me. It was a bit dry. I know, right? How is creamy cole slaw dry? I'm not sure if it's always like this, or maybe it was off the top of the batch and the "creamy" and dripped to lower parts. Don't get me wrong - it tasted good. We'll see how it is next time I'm there! Overall, a good BBQ stop. The pulled pork sandwich will be a standard order there, but I'm sure I'll venture out to some other dishes to see what they have to offer!
