I just now got my hearing aid at Oregon hearing Solutions and when I first got my hearing tested a couple weeks back by Scott I felt like he was actually listening. Im not completely deaf but I have hearing damage in my left ear and he took the time to listen and adjust the testing to accurately determine what hearing I still have, and what was gone. Ive had hearing difficulty ever since I could remember and when I first got my hearing tested at a different clinic years ago, they put me through the default testing and didn't put in the effort to understand my hearing capacity and they told me then that my insurance wouldn't cover my hearing aid. But when I got my hearing tested at the Oregon hearing solutions, Scott first took his time to see what was wrong and explained everything clearly to me and my mom so not only would I know the type of hearing loss I had, but specific things like the letters and different sounds that I had easy or a harder time hearing. After the initial assessment, he told me that insurance companies don't usually cover the costs for hearing impairments only in one ear, but he told me that since Im under a certain age that there's a better chance that they'd make an exception and that he'd help write a letter to further persuade them to cover my hearing aid, and they did! I got them today and I could not be anymore grateful! Scott and his crew are amazing. read more

I purchased my hearing aids in another state and then moved to Yamhill County. This dealer was close so I had a couple program adjustments here. After the last visit, I realized the technician left my aids on the standard all around hearing program. I went back in and said that I need the program changed to the music program which is better for me. The technician looked me in the eye and said, "We called Resound and they told us this cannot be done." My aids are 2 years old and they have ALWAYS been set to the music program as the default program for me. My prior dealer had no difficulty with the programming. I left and called Resound. I was told that it is a very simple program issue to change the settings. They gave me a list of other dealers. I went to one and it took the Audiologist about 5 minutes to change the channels back to the original settings. read more

We recently brought our 11-year-old son to Oregon Hearing Solutions in Sherwood to be fitted for a hearing aid. While the doctor was wonderful--kind, professional, and great with our son--and the hearing aid itself has worked very well, our overall experience has unfortunately been overshadowed by serious issues with the front office and billing department. The main reason we chose this clinic was because we were told they were in-network with our insurance provider (United Healthcare). That turned out to be incorrect. After receiving an unexpectedly high bill, we contacted UHC and confirmed that Oregon Hearing Solutions is not in-network. Despite appealing the claim, UHC was unable to help, and we were left responsible for the full cost of the services. The lack of clarity and accuracy around insurance acceptance has been incredibly frustrating and expensive for our family. UHC has since provided us with a list of providers that are actually in-network, which we will be using moving forward. I would strongly advise anyone considering this clinic to double-check with their insurance directly--do not rely on what you're told by the front desk. While the medical care was excellent, the administrative side left a lot to be desired and ended up costing us far more than we anticipated. read more

Took hearing aids in to see if I need new filters & they billed me $50.00 to tell me my left Hearing aid needed to be sent back to factory & cost would be $400.00. The left Hearing aid had been sent back to factory less than 2 years ago & now they are saying it has to go back again with a $400.00 charge???. They just lost me as a customer as $50.00 for 5 minutes of time to tell me I needed to send the left Hearing aid back to factory for a $400.00 charge seems excessive. Never did find out if I needed to buy any filters which is reason I stopped in!!! read more

If you have Untied Health Care Hearing Insurance DO NOT use this company. I'm new to needing hearing aids. The process of getting them from this company is extremely difficult. All of the information they have given me is incorrect. For 4 weeks they have told me they have been ordered. Yesterday, They blamed the hearing aid supplier that they made an error and didn't process it 4 weeks ago. I spoke to Dr Scott, he told me they don't make any money on these orders so I would need to follow up with the 3rd party or my insurance company. They wouldn't help me. Their lack of follow through and compassion involving such a life changing event like the gift of hearing is truly Disappointing! They never ordered my hearing aids. They payment process was 100% incorrect. read more

I am so very grateful for finding them to get my hearing aids cleaned. They did a fabulous job, however, I was quite taken aback that the staff did not have masks on. How can a medical facility not wear masks during a pandemic? I would have given them a 5 but I just can't. Would I go back, most likely not. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Scott Johnson for over 6 years. I have had nothing but great success in getting a honest evaluations and working with getting my hearing back on track so I can function again at work and home. I originally came in under duress from my wife over the TV remote, I knew I couldn't hear well especially in noisy or crowed places... often shying away from adding to conversations or taking phone calls. Dr. Johnson found the best aids and devices to use phones again, add into conversations at work and out with friends and best part my wife now needs control over the TV remote!! Know your benefits! Contact your Insurance Provider, (report that you are being told to sign a document allowing Balance Billing) before ordering device. By signing, you waive protection from over billing, etc. I thought I was simply agreeing to pay co-pays/deductibles. I'd never met a Provider that Balance Bills. An enormous mistake was made on benefits quoted. My insurer acknowledged the portion they misquoted, and the transcript verified that OR Hearing Solutions (OHS) ALSO misunderstood what they were told regarding maximums. So both were complicit in the error. After adjusting to my new aid for 3 weeks, I was harassed mercilessly to return it or pay full retail price (or exchange for a notably sub par device). Throughout my life, I have learned that Greed is a cruel Taskmaster. The drive for quick profits can taint one's ability to be humane, to do the right thing (when you are part of a mistake made) and earn a loyal customer, referrals and great reviews (aka. "future business"). My Insurance Company was shocked to hear of such a practice and has actively/fervently engaged their Resources to investigate. I've quickly contacted those to whom I referred OHS and advised them to go elsewhere. OHS has a substantial mark up on aids (for I was told what Dr. Johnson actually paid for the device). Given the office misunderstood "maximum allowed amount vs maximum out of pocket"), I felt at a minimum they should offer to sell the device at cost. After a Hellish experience (suddenly losing my hearing in one ear, adjusting to an aid, being harassed while my Insurer looks into the matter, and now heart-breakingly unable to hear well again...for I returned to aid due to being threatened to pay or I'd be sent to Collections)? I'm taking the advise of several friends and am going to my local "Big Box Store" who carries the same brand, comparable features, for 1/3 the cost! I prefer to support small business, however, if your insurance doesn't cover the cost of your aid? You can save serious money by going go Costco. I've so many friends who insisted I go there in the first place! read more
