    Dirty matcha

Discovered this new coffee shop in Burnaby and stopped by on a Friday morning. Lots of ample seating and their drink menu has a great selection of unique drinks (including Mango Matcha, dirty matcha, Nutella latte, etc.)! The interior is calm and spacious, with some out door seating as well. Would definitely be revisiting soon!

I was in between appointments and searched for a coffee place in Burnaby Heights area, this popped…read moreup. I drove here and there was street parking on weekday morning. It was fairly quiet with a few customers at around 9am. The place looked bright and welcoming. The baked goods looked delicious and I spied many pistachio items. There was even a honey cake! I missed having that. As I am off sweets for a while now (everything tasted overly sweet to me), I settled for a bacon cheese croissant and regular coffee. Order and pay at the counter, they will bring the food over. The croissant was nice and flaky. The coffee was also good, not tart or acidic at all. The cream in coffee made it pretty smooth. What made it 5-star was the vibe and service/owner/customers. This place has the friendly neighborhood chill vibe where it is a cross between "Friends" and "Cheers". Shortly after I sat down, the cafe began to fill up. I saw a guy got up from his table to move to a smaller one when a bigger group came in on his own accord. He then told the group to take his table. The owner knows the regular customers by names and sight. The other regulars know each other as I saw people stopping at other tables greeting and chatting with each other. They even pulled up chairs and have an impromptu gabfest. They were not loud at all. What a nice thing to witness. Not a soulless cafe where customers are plugged into their laptops or with headphones. I will need to come back again to try the other stuff. Plus I'm pretty surprised at how good the regular coffee is. Most places' drip coffee has a sour/acidic aftertaste and this doesn't.

This one had a lot of, a lot of pistachio cream filling! Dough was nicely crispy on outside and inside soft on inside. It was very good supreme croissant, I really liked it. Cafe ambience is nice and cozy. I want to visit here again to get sandwich and coffee next time

There is also a E facing table and patio umbrella outside, but it wasn't set up during this rainy season. The room is quite stuffy (lack of ventilation), so they had the door propped open. This place is quite cramped. Staff are friendly. I think they're Korean. Coffee here is pretty decent. No complaints. Didn't try the food. Place might be worth coming by alone or maybe in a group of 2 at most. Otherwise I would highly recommend takeout.

It was kind of chilly inside because they had the door propped open despite it being cold out, but I can imagine it might have been stuffy for the staff in the kitchen area. The barista was very nice! I got the Sooyo croissant, an egg tart, and a milk tea. I loved the Sooyo croissant - I'm weak to the brie/fig combo and this had just the right balance of all the ingredients on a warm and soft croissant. The egg tart was also really nice with a hint of cinnamon. It was bite-sized which was good for a small treat. I also loved the milk tea. It was very strong, and the brown sugar syrup enhanced the flavour! It was worth the trip for me for a relaxing snack stop!
