This the second time I have experienced Ko's Garden. Both times were amazing. The chicken egg foo young is amazing, the best i have ever had. The general tso chicken was delicious. Where to begin., I had been driving for two solid days and wanted to take a break for a decent meal. My wife found Ko's Garden on yelp as we were driving. Came in and it was very quiet, got a seat with only one other couple. Ordered and waited and waited... Soup and spring roll came out, Soup was great, spring roll in my opinion was cooked in old/well used oil. and waited At this point someone came in to pick up a to go order which was not ready And we waited Finally over 1 hour later the food came out The owner appologised ! The egg fu young was some of the best I have seen and eaten. It was great! My wife's food beef and broccoli looked good as well but my wife found a piece of a thick steel wool pad in her food which she spit out. Over all we spent 1.5 hours waiting and eating. I was very frustrated but heal my tongue as I still had another 7 hours to get to my destination. When we left the Togo order, a group of 4 were still outside waiting for their food. After reading some good reviews, we decided to try this place for lunch carryout. We have had a lot of Chinese food from places all over in the last 50 years, but never did we have to throw our meals in the garbage. The food was horrible! Everything tasted like it was fried/cooked in the same old grease. I really don't understand the good reviews on this site, but our experience was horrible. The noodles with our chow mein were stale and the fried rice was undercooked and crunchy with zero flavor. The General Tso's chicken was so tough we couldn't even cut it with a knife! We had to laugh as even our packaged fortune cookie was stale & lacked flavor! It's back to BM Chen on Reynolds Road in Toledo for us. They have the best Chinese food in the area! read more

First time here. Food was very overpriced. Egg drop soup smelled and tasted awful. The fried rice was very dry and tasteless. It tasted like it was cooked in sesame oil. Barely any soy sauce in it at all. Chicken was decent but could've had more flavor. Overall, highly disappointing. My faith was so high in trying this place out. We have eaten here regularly for years, and they are our favorite. This is a small family owned restaurant with consistently good food, service, portion sizes and quality. The dining room, kitchen and bathrooms are always clean and rarely is there a wait to be seated. Christine goes out of her way to make sure everyone's needs are met. Our favorite dishes include Mongolian Chicken, Green Pepper Steak, Vegetable Lo-Mein, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. We have kids ranging from 28 down to 4, and they all love the food here, even the picky 4 year old who LOVES the egg drop soup! The owners are cousins to the people who owned Ko's Golden Gate in Wauseon years ago, and many of their recipes are the same as the old China Gate restaurant that was by Southwyck. If you're in the mood for Chinese, stop in or order take out. You won't be disappointed! read more

We ordered carryout and the food was ready right when they said it would be and it was scortching hot. The person who brought the order out and the person who rang out the order were both very friendly. Now, on to the important part ... the food!! The garden beef was delicious ... lots of super tender beef, plenty of veggies, and a lot of a very savory, delicious sauce. I'd definitely recommend this dish! The empress chicken was phenomenal! The white meat chicken was lightly breaded and perfectly fried so it wasn't the least bit greasy, there were lots of pea pods, bamboo shoots, and onions, and the brown sauce was so savory and delicious. This will be my go to from Ko's for sure! The last dish we had was the Mongolian beef and it left a bit to be desired. The beef was extremely good ... tender, plentiful, and seasoned well, but there were hardly any onions, green or white, and no sauce to speak of at all. It was served on top of thin rice noodles that were good, but with no sauce, they added nothing to the dish. We won't likely order the Mongolian beef again. I wish I had taken photos to go with this review, but I did not... I will next time! All said, this was a great place, the food was delicious, the servings were plentiful, and the service was great. I visited Ko's many many years ago when we first moved to Swanton, something about that visit kept me from going back all these years (atleast 15) however with covid I decided to give it another try a month or so ago. Upon walking in to pick up my order the lady who greeted me (if you can even call it a greeting) was somewhat cold almost being rude. I placed my order which I got mongolian beef, I was ok with the price however after getting it home and starting to plate it with the rice I was shocked at the amount of mongolian beef inside the box and not in a good way. I would say the box which was a small box was only halfway full at best! Now onto the taste of said food I actually really enjoyed the flavor and my daughter also enjoyed her food. I don't know if I will ever go back as I feel they ripped me off. Maybe once dining room is open again because atleast then I can bring attention to the situation right then and there. So as for taste of food it was good however that's not all that matters so I will leave it at that. read more

Friendly service. Clean and quiet. Wonderful food served piping hot. Wish the pot of tea was hotter. It's only lukewarm by the time you get halfway through it. I enjoyed the Szechuan Beef and my companion liked her Mongolian Chicken. Many other items on the menu that I'm anxious to try. The other Chinese place nearby seems either unwilling or unable to reopen their dining room. So from now on it'll be Ko's if we want dine in and we'll have to flip a coin if we want carry out. read more

Ok, back at Ko's Garden, this time for my birthday meal. Last time we were here. I tried sweet and sour pork on fried rice (trying something different beach time we visit), it was very good as expected. This time,I went for the Snow White Chicken over Fried Rice. This was a nice, lightly flavored dish. It was good, but wanting something with a bit more flavor, I believe that I'll try the Garlic Chicken. I should say here that I did not bring any home, my plate was empty, my stomach was full. Wife continues with her favorite Human Chicken with medium spiciness. Always friendly service and this dining spot is getting noticed. More diners each time we visit. read more

Ko's Garden again! Shrimp Rangoon and Fried Dumplings again! Egg Drop Soup and Wonton Soup again! Are you starting to see a pattern for us? These appetizers are delicious. We tried the Sweet & Sour Pork, Szechuan Chicken and Green Pepper Steak this time, all over fried rice. Wow, very good. Hot tea finished another fine dining evening. This time it was a Tuesday evening and not such a big dining crowd. I suspect that once more people spread the word, Ko's Garden will have to have reservations. Very nice restaurant. read more
