So, we took a several months' break. We decided to give them a try last evening, around 5:30pm. We were seated in a reasonable time and the waiter stopped by within a few minutes. He asked what we wanted to drink, I asked for a Pepsi, he then asked me if I wanted a Diet Pepsi. It was just a weird interaction. We also ordered an appetizer and our entrees at that time. We waited probably 15 minutes before any food came out, and instead of our appetizer of Boom Boom Shrimo, the first thing out was my husband's entree (Hibachi combo) and my side of steak. The steak in my side order and my husband's hibache had several pieces that were mostly fat and gristle and some pieces were just really tough pieces of meat. It was another 20 minutes before my Thai Basil Fried Rice came out. At that point we still hadn't received our appetizer. Another person asked if we wanted beverage refills and I asked her about our appetizer. She went and checked and came back and said it was still being worked on. It is just tempura shrimp with a sauce, it should not have taken that long. They really need to coordinate their timing, it is ridiculous to have one entree come out 20 minutes after the first one and the appetizer coming out last. This is similar to what occurred the previous time. The only reason they got 2 stars is because the Thai Basil Fried Rice was delicious and aside from the steak, my husbad's hibache tasted good too. I will say that the clear soup used to be amazing but this time around, it tasted like dirt. My guess is they did not clean the mushrooms. I also do not like that the waiter stood there when I paid the check and waited for me to put a tip in. I find that unsettling, I am normally a good tipper but I still don't want the waiter standing there watching me the tip in. Then the final receipt had a note on printed on the bottom encouraging me to add an additional tip! What the actual hell?!?!?! I used to encourage our friends from Toledo/Maumee/Perrysburg to make the trek to Napoleon for Ninja but I won't be doing that any more and we won't be frequenting Ninja either, I cannot in good faith pay for such crappy service and inconsistent food.
