I don't know enough about Toledo Chinese cuisine, but this is better than most as compared to MI. Food, quantity, takeout, service, quality all very high. Price point is VERY fair. We've been here twice now. None of the dishes disappointed. We order off the authentic menu. They even have a "special" authentic menu that is seen only when you enter the restaurant. I think they are Cantonese. They don't skimp on portion sizes. Dishes are flavorful. Authentic menu is indeed AUTHENTIC. We asked 1 - low salt, 2 - low oil, 3 - no MSG and these preferences were honored. They even called back saying one of the dishes was a bit heavy in oil so that we could potentially order something else. They called us when the takeout order was ready. The Midwest needs more restaurants like these. If I lived closer I would come way more often. Best of all you get this for a very fair price point. It is not the inflationary/expensive price for low-quantity sub-par asian food you see now-adays. Come here if you are near the area. Everything seemed to be coated in an oil. Onion rings soaked in grease. Unedible. Ham fried rice wasn't bad, except for the coating of oil.

The Orange Beef was nothing like I have ever ordered before. The meat was fatty, coating wasn't cooked and it was sitting in a pool of liquid that tasted nothing like orange. I have been in search of a good Chinese food go-to since moving to the Sylvania area 2+ years ago. This quest is now resolved. A very unassuming standalone business on the corner of Airport Hwy and Reynolds. Not much to look at, but the food is off the charts good! We started off with Wonton and Eggdrop Soup - both were very good. My eggdrop soup was probably one of the best I have had. Dinners ordered: Vegetable Deluxe Chicken and Seafood Treasures Clay Pot. As you can see in the pics, my meal was a huge success as there wasn't anything left behind but a few grains of rice. I didn't want to totally embarrass myself by licking the plate clean, but I did pause, and give it some thought. As far as ambiance, much the same as the exterior, unassuming. B.M. This is the place!!! Thx to all that gave a heads up to order the salted shrimp. Brilliant dish and I actually detest salt. But here the shrimp is cooked in the salt to seal in the juices and flavor (similar to a Middle Eastern dish I've had) and the result is the most succulent and flavorful protein you could ever imagine. I could only eat 2 pieces of the huge shrimp with rice regrettably but the remainders are in my fridge and I can't wait to smash! This is a dry dish but don't get nervous. Been coming here since they opened in 2013 Stand alone location in a former LJS on Airport and Reynolds. Owner was a chef at Flower Drum and loved his cooking and when he started B.M. Chen's I followed him there. Good authentic Chinese food. Very reasonable prices. QQ and B.M. have the best Chinese food in Toledo. While in town visiting my family for Thanksgiving, my Mom brought me to her new "favorite" Chinese restaurant. We came by on a Tuesday night for dinner and there were a few people seated throughout the restaurant. They have an extensive menu with a variety of chicken, seafood, beef, and vegetable options. There were noodle dishes, soups, hot pots, etc to pick from. My Mom swore by the Szechuan Singapore Noodles - thin street noodles with a variety of veggies and meats mixed in. I tried hers and it was delicious. I opted for the beef brisket hot pot with soft tofu. The beef melted in my mouth, it was so tender and juicy. They definitely give you a lot more tofu than beef but it still had great flavor. I think I would have enjoyed my Mom's dish a lot more than mine. The wonton soup that came with my dish was alright - the broth had a strange sweet taste to it. For Toledo standards, this place is not that bad. But coming from California, where there is a plethora of high quality Asian food options, it was average. read more

But...it really wasn't :/ the sauce was sickly sweet (why is there pineapple in here?! this isn't pineapple chicken!) and not nearly spiced enough, the chicken tasted so floury/doughy and honestly just odd flavored and not juicy at all...it wasn't good! Who is thinking this is amazing? Did I come in on the wrong day? I've traversed many cities and tried numerous fast food Chinese places and this has got to be one of the least appealing General Tso's, which is something fast food Chinese shouldn't butcher. However, the fried rice and egg rolls here are actually delicious. And I usually HATE the fried rice and egg rolls that come with Chinese dishes. It's actually kinda low key five star for a Chinese takeout spot. Like you will find the overall quality to be very high. Not the frozen general Tao nuggets. Like real chicken and rice flour. Authentic. Chinese menu as well. Hunan dry chicken was hitting, Thai style chicken banging, and beef with preserved vegetables was doing it. I was coming back from Detroit, and was craving some Chinese food like no other, so I decided to try this place out. I called right at 11 when they opened (yes, I was desperate) and ordered the General Tso's lunch special with a large side of the egg drop soup. The girl who took my order and who I talked to when I went to pick it up was very polite and friendly, exactly what customer service should be. Since it was a lunch special, it was cheap (although not as cheap as some other places) so I have no complaints about the price. With the lunch special, I got a good sized serving of chicken, an ok serving of rice (wishing there was a little more), and an egg roll. My soup was pretty big, which I was happy about. I tried the egg drop soup first. It was only okay, not bad or anything but I've definitely had better at some other places. Next, I tried the egg roll, which was great! Definitely the best egg roll I've had in Toledo so far, and I'm not even a huge fan of egg rolls. The rice that I got was ham fried (standard for the lunch combo), and it was really good as well. The chicken, however, was much better than most places. I loved it, the sauce wasn't too sugary or generic, and it had a nice kick to as well. Plus, the chicken was fried perfectly, which makes it that much better.
