My experience was exceptional! I was visiting Scranton U with my son and found a screw in my tire the morning of orientation. They were open at 7:30am, worked on my car after driving me to the university in time for orientation. Then gave me a ride back to pick up. Would not recommend Kost on Lehigh Street in Allentown. Dropped off car to get new tires put on however, tires quoted were different than the ones that were put on. Employee was made aware however, dismissed it. Long story short, Exactly 2 weeks I had issues with the vehicle and how it was driving. I had to purchase new tires from a different place of business "Not Kost" (other place was great by the way). I Called Kost to see what they could do for me and was told they would call me back. 5 days went by no response. I looked up their store policy and called back and spoke to "store manager" who was very unprofessional and decided to make up his own store policy since that is how he runs his store. Shopping for inexpensive tires, Kost offered best price. Hunter was professional, helpful and patiently answered all my questions. I made an appointment for 2 tires (no other services, just the tires), my wife showed up on time and she was informed it would be a 2 hour wait. When she asked why the wait since she had an appointment, she was only told that there were others in front of her. So I ask, what's the point of an appointment if the appointment time is not honored? She was out of there in about 2.5 hours. Other than that, clean restroom, adequate (but aged) waiting area. Warning!!!! Stay Clear!!!! I went there for a simple oil and lube service on my F150 and had nothing but issues since. First I noticed my power steering fluid was the wrong color, hence I needed to drain that and flush the system. Then I go this weekend to change the oil and first I see that they broken and temporarily fix the pull on the dip stick. It gets worse They used the wrong oil filter as it was terribly under sized for my truck. Thank god I decided to do this myself and earlier that it called for. I am testing the anti freeze tonight. I will NEVER go to this place again. read more

I brought my BMW to have a tire replaced under warranty from the factory. Vic said that they would file the claim and the tire would be covered. They had my car over a week waiting for the claim to process. They finally gave my car back and called me months later to pay for the tire. I refused. Joe Lido called trying to shake me down for the covered tire and stated that the tire was not covered because it was worn beyond the limit. He sent a letter with a picture of the tire at 6/32. The tire brand new is 8/32. it should have been covered. After further investigation, they never submitted the claim to Pirelli. My rim was damaged and there was grease on my seats. Last but not least. They reported me to collections. I called the collection company and they said that they will not report anything to the credit bureau so I'm not worried. Word to the wise. Be diligent when dealing with them. They lie and say that tires aren't covered when they are. read more

Would not recommend this place. The price was good. The service is horrible. I got 4 new tires and an alignment. My truck went in the bay at 9:30 am and came out at 12:30. The alignment was way off. I had to come back the next day and the alignment was redone. I asked is it good to go, the tech said well its better. It was slightly better but my steering wheel was still not straight and it pulled pretty good. They wouldn't give me the print out so it suffice to say the tech that didn't know how to do the alignment was eyeballing it and not very well. I demanded a refund for the alignment since it wasn't done correctly and said I was going somewhere that knew what they were doing. George advised he would need Pat to refund me fee. I went to Mavis and within 15 minutes the alignment was completed and he gave me the before printout and the after one. Update was called and refunded the alignment fee this morning. George followed through. I will still go here to get my tires serviced but I am still pissed I had to drive there twice and the tech wanted me to drive away without my truck being aligned. Would only recommend them for purchase of tires, I am a little afraid of the caliber of techs they have there. read more

First time getting tires at this place. Don't know his name but the employee (fairly old guy) was very rude to everyone who walked in. This guy also told me on the phone what tires we agreed on, then when there and tires were off, he said he couldn't find the tires. Wake up to go to work the next morning and back left tire was all the way flat, took back they fixed it and it was an employee who didn't do his job correctly. Glad I wasn't driving. Scammers. Don't go here. Copied and pasted from our Better Business Bureau complaint. My google review keeps getting removed. My daughter asked for new tires for her birthday in late November and I chose Kost on Lehigh Street in Allentown. In July, at her inspection, her car was in good working order, required absolutely nothing to pass inspection, and was told she would need 2 new tires soon. I unfortunately chose Kost since they seemed cheaper. Big mistake. At Kost, 2 new tires turned into 4 new tires, rotors, and 2 calipers which totaled over $1300. Also, they kept the car overnight for some odd reason because they got the wrong parts. I agreed to all this and we picked the car up the next day. My daughter's car started shaking violently at each stop light and was undrivable. She was able to make it home but it needed to be towed back. They said that the car had a bad cylinder. So somewhere between their parking lot and garage they blow the motor! They took no accountability for it and only refunded the price of the tires. She had to buy a new car. Obviously, the car we took to Kost was sabotaged. I also signed up for their credit card to finance this large bill and keep getting the runaround as to how to solve this problem. I keep getting forwarded to a place called Mr. Tire who can't help me either. I should not have to pay anything and should be refunded the entire amount. My daughter's car was then towed to my trusted mechanic whom I've known for many years and he said, his exact words, "Someone beat the shit out of it until something went wrong." He agreed that the issue was a blown motor (cylinder) and said it would cost over $1000 to fix. He had nothing but bad things to say about Kost's reputation and employees and agreed that this issue should not have happened and insists that they did something malicious to the car. He had seen this car for maintenance previously throughout the years. To make it worse, the car had a lot of sentimental value to my daughter. read more

As a woman, I am always wary of mechanics trying to take advantage but I have never gotten that sense from the staff at Kost. Kost Tire service in Mt. Pocono has a desk service person named Tommy who is rude, belligerent, and argumentative. I am a disabled 81-year-old who complained to Tommy about his parking in the disabled parking spaces. I had brought my truck in for inspection, but after a run-in with Tommy after his reaction to my request that a disabled person should have access to the disable parking, my inspection was summarily rejected. Checked reviews on a number of different establishments in the Lehigh Valley area. Kost Tire & Auto (3117 Lehigh Street) surpassed all others. I was met by Mr. Conti (Mike) as soon as I entered. Mike was very pleasant and personable. [He] is not a "stay behind the counter" type of manager. Mike also gets involved with the service and takes the time to make sure all is in order. This hands-on approach tells me that he, and the company, actually care about the work being performed. All labor and parts, on my vehicle, were taken care of with expertise. Went there to get tires because I heard good things. they sold me the specials because they were "American-made and cost less" and were guaranteed for 45,000 miles. I got about 30K on them and they were gone, steel showing and cupping. I think they were pushing the brand because the margin was better. It's really a shame that they don't make appointments. I need to have some work done and they are really close to me but have to have a scheduled time due to work. I can't just go in and wait. He said if I called before I was ready to come in that he'd let me know approximately how long the wait would be before they could take my car, and the time it would take to service. That's nice but I don't have the ability to just keep calling throughout the day to find out when it might be a good time to go over to have service done on my car. I have used this (Allentown PA) store since they opened and never really had any complaints . Over the years mostly in my 20s I did extensive work on many motor vehicles so I watch out what's up. I just bought my wife's 17 yr old Buick In for PA inspection and was told it needed L & R upper control arms , I'm sure you would think so what, but the car only has 32,000 mi on it , and it literally is the car from Pasadena , I bet it hasn't driven over 15mi one way in the last 10yrs any time it has left the garage that it has been in since day one. I was told that EACH arm was $200 (you can purchase top of the line ones with bushings for$75 each ) plus labor , & alignment total $700 . I told them I will pick it up , the next day I bought it to a garage at the other end of town they inspected it found no problems and it passed just like it has for the past 17 times it was inspected . If that was someone that doesn't know cars they would have been out $700 , I doubt I will ever be in this store again , as some other reviewers wrote they are nice , I think smooth is a better term. I am not sure if it's the same way in Kost today as it was when I worked in A Goodyear center in the 70s but the mechanics , & management all get a commission on the money they bring in and I know in GY the pressure was always on to bring in revenue , their is nothing wrong with that, but if it is based on lies and deceit shame on them . read more

Stopped in for a free battery check because my car seemed to be taking longer to start than usual. Sure enough, it needed replacing. The manager on duty, Pat, was courteous and efficient. They did not have the battery in stock because my car takes an unusual type, but they got it there somehow within 15 minutes, and I was back on the road shortly after. As a female, I sometimes feel uncomfortable at all male auto places, but that was not my experience at Kost. I was treated with respect and without condescension. I would go to Kost again. read more

We needed to have an alignment performed on our car and arrived at their garage about 10 am on a Saturday morning. I asked if they would be available to do an alignment today and was told that they could but that there would be a few hours wait. I then asked if I could make an appointment for later in the day and was told I could not. The service manager told me that if I wanted an alignment today, I would need to wait with my vehicle until they were available which could be a few hours. He was arrogant and rude about it and acted as though he could care less either way. I know that their time is valuable but so is mine. I work near by and was looking for a convenient place to have my vehicles serviced. Unfortunately, I will have to look elsewhere. read more
