I purchased 4 new Firestone Destination L3 tires and wheel alignment today. As far as I know, tire balancing is always included in the tire installation package. However, when I got home and looked more closely at the invoice, I saw they charged me for tire balance at $24.99 per tire ($99.96 total). I called the store and the manager Israr told me at Mavis, tire balancing is not included in the tire installation package. This is outrageous and I am not happy at all. When checking out, I asked him if tire balance is included in the installation package, and he said yes but now I got charged for it. I chose to shop with you guys because I can have the alignment done at the same time, but because of this charge, I will go back to Costco next time for my future tire purchase and service. Two experiences with this Mavis location. First time I purchased 4 new tires for my Mazda Miata --great price, easy scheduling and great service. Second experience was a flat tire on my wife's car. Scheduled an appointment and took the car in. They called me to tell me they could not find the key for the wheel lock. I went over and looked myself only to agree that it was not there. They were very patient and had looked through the car very thoroughly for the key. We realized that when the car was as the dealer the last time they never returned the key. We went to the dealer to get a new key and get the old locks replaced. When I called Mavis Tire to ask if they could still repair the tire that day they say "sure, no problem". We took the car back and a few hours later picked up the car with the flat repaired. Great customer service! read more

I'd give this place a zero if I could. They sold me 4 new tires for $1350 in February- by November the tires were so bald that the wire mesh was coming out of them. They told me it was my fault because I didn't rotate the tires after 5000 miles. What a crock. The immediate next place said the tires were like that because the alignment was done wrong. Could not avoid hitting a truck drum brake cover on 476 North bound that completely destroyed my right rear(s) Continential 225 x 45 x17 - waited 1 1/2 hrs for AAA for our tow to Jack Williams in Allentown for repairs. Then found PARADISE.... John Hass (General Manager, Nino (front counter) and the entire crew had all I needed waiting for me. 30 mins later new tires, complete under carriage inspection and my wife and I were on our way to Canada. Would rate Jack Williams Tires & Auto Services located at 3300 Lehigh Street Allentown with less than a 1 star if that was an option. I ordered a tire for my vehicle on 12/04/2023 with the understanding the replacement tire was to be the same as what was presently on the vehicle. I set up an appointment for 12/09/2023 at 8 AM. When I arrived at the business for my appointment I was told the tire was not in yet. "An issue with the truck". Now expected to arrive between 9:30 to 10 AM same day. I was assured by Will, identified as the manager, I would get a call when the tire arrived. I cannot understand why the business did not notify me on Friday evening before the EOB that the tire had not arrived! Instead of the customer driving there at appointment time on Saturday 12/09/2023 to be told tire had not arrived. Later Saturday morning I arrived back at the business to ask about the status of the tire since I had not gotten a call it arrived. Was told by Will that "tire just arrived". I have to trust that that is correct but I truly have by doubts. Car is now on the lift. I wanted to confirm that the replacement tire was indeed the same tire as on the vehicle. I was told yes. For accuracy I mentioned markings that should be on the tire. When Will and another worker actually "looked" at the tire it WAS NOT THE SAME TIRE! Will responded that he ordered the correct one. Which he may have, but my question is why no one put eyes on the tire before trying to install it???? I would never recommend this business nor will I ever return. Seems the staff it much more interested in making a sale then doing what the customer requests. read more

I will only take my truck there from now on ! Eston is great and very helpful, they did a level kit, tires, rims, and a dual exhaust for a great price, I wasn't sure what I wanted and Eston showed me many options and didn't try to push expensive parts on me. I have gone back for oil changes and inspections. I recently purchased LED headlights and after looking at the install I called Eston and he gave me a good price for install. My Ford is a bear to install headlights as you have to take off half the front !! Picked up my truck and it looked like it was never touched ! Very professional job , and believe me my truck is my baby and I looked it over good ! I will be going back for a lift kit and any future needs ! Taken my vehicle here multiple times for the same problem and they charged me everytime and it never got fixed. I had to go to another mechanic where they said whoever worked on this car basically used "tape and band aids" to fix it. I hear they are good with tires but that's pretty much it. Also when going in about a problem they shooed me out saying it wasnt a problem later to find out that down the line that problem was there and because left undone for such a long time did more damage to my vehicle which I was also charged a very hefty fee for. I dont recommend this business for service on your vehicle. If you go here, just go for the tires. read more

Hubby had them put tires on his car last year and was happy, so when I had some cupping on my back tires plus a tire with a small leak in the front, it was time for tires and they were one of the folks that I called. They had tires I'd be happy with in stock and could get us worked in the following weekend, so I scheduled the appointment and dropped it off the night before, per their request. Like all shops, they called that AM with a long list of things that I "should consider" - only thing we agreed to other than the tires was an alignment since we knew that was off. Tire and alignment pricing was very reasonable and the staff was friendly. I don't need tires often (thank goodness!) but I'd go back if it was the right price and timing. read more

Comment: I had my 2013 GMC Terrain inspected at the Lehigh Street location on Saturday (08/05/2017) morning. My car needed tires for inspection, as I thought it would. The service adviser recommended the Nokian tire. I'm glad he did. After 3 days with the new tires I can clearly feel a difference. They ride great, handle well and now I can drive with the windows down without experiencing all of the road noise. Happy with my new rubber. read more

I dropped my car off on Saturday due to an anti freeze leak and requested an oil change. I was later told nothing could be done because a part was needed. I was also told the car would be fixed on Monday and given a cost estimate of $200. On Monday I was told my bill estimate was $650. I contacted another mechanic informed me it should be closer to $300. Brandy explained the estimate was a worse case amount however was not able to take off the oil change because it was done on Saturday. I was told nothing was done to the car on Saturday and was quite upset. The only reason I kept my car at Jack Williams was so that it could be fixed on Monday as stated by more than one individual which was not the case. I work in Easton and have no alternate transportation. Employees of this location need to make sure they have accurate information before giving it to customers. I paid almost 3 times what I was originally quoted and picked up my car 2 days after I was told it would be finished! In addition when I picked up my car I was not welcomed/greeted and was given no explanation or apology for the miscommunication and inconvenience. read more

After being a loyal customer for q0 yrs, had an awful experience last month. Bought brand new tires from them, but they managed to lose all the bolts from the previous rims and covers from new ones. WATCH OUT FOR THE BOGUS UPSELL!!! I have been a customer of Jack Williams Tire and Auto Service Centers for 15 plus years. Up until my last visit for service, I was a very loyal happy customer. The manager at this location, Dale, was extremely customer service oriented and trustworthy. He since has retired. Over the years I had my last 5 or 6 vehicles serviced at this location. All of my tires were purchased here and I have spent many thousands of dollars with them. I have also sent many customers their way. My wife's vehicle brakes started making a grinding noise so I knew it was time for new brakes on the back wheels. I came in for a brake job. I was the first customer of the day and waited until they opened the door for business at 7:30 AM. Beings I did not have an appointment, I asked if I would be able to wait for the car as I had done many many times of the years. I was told that their mechanics got in about 8:00 AM, and that they would get to my car then. I travel about 30 minutes to get there so it was easier to wait for the repair than trying to arrange for a ride home and back. After waiting for over 2 and 1/2 hours, thinking my car would be done any minute, the Service advisor came over to me to let me know that I did indeed need back brakes. He then proceeded to tell me that the rear drums were scared up and could not be resurfaced and had to be replaced. Only ONE wheel was grinding and scared up. I was not happy but said OK rather than argue my point. After all, they had treated me very fairly over the years and I had no reason to believe they would possibly try to take advantage of me. Then he continued... He said I had a wheel cylinder that was "Weeping", (Not Leaking, and it would pass state safety inspection), but if it did start leaking it would ruin the new brake shoes. It made sense to me so I said OK, to do the work. BUT, he continued, It's ALWAYS RECOMMENDED to replace BOTH wheel cylinders when one is being replaced. While I should have at this point said NO to the whole repair, I had already been waiting over 2 and 1/2 hours and just wanted to get on the road. I asked how much we were talking about and was told about $470.00. I told them to do the work. After another 15 minutes went by, the service advisor came back to tell me that he FORGOT to include the labor for the Wheel Cylinder replacement. At this point I was starting to get really upset and probably showed my unhappiness by my body language. He told me that instead of charging me the standard labor rate of 1.8 hours, he would only charge me an hour. WHAT??? Everything was already apart???? At this point he told me that my State Safety Inspection and Emissions were going to run out at the end of the month, and because they run a "COURTESY CHECK" and no additional repairs would be required, he wanted to know if he should put the stickers on? WELL, we are now looking at just under $600.00. I came in expecting I needed a brake job that usually costs about $150.00. As frustrated as I was, I said go ahead and do the work. After another hour went by, I had had enough. I went up to the service counter and asked if they could put a push on to get me out since I had been waiting now for approaching 5 hours. Now I could not believe my ears. The service advisor actually starting giving me a little attitude, telling me that I did not have an appointment and that they told me they would work me in. At this point I lost it and told them that I was told that when the mechanics arrived at about 8:00 AM they would get on my car. At this point he went off in a huff to the shop to, I assume, tell the mechanic to speed it up. In about a half hour my car was done. After I got home, and as more time passed, I was really getting mad at what had just happened. The more I thought about it, the more I believed I was really taken advantage of. So, I called a Ford dealer and asked if it was "ALWAYS RECOMMENDED" to replace both Wheel Cylinders when you replace one cylinder, he simply laughed, and said "NO". I could not resist then asking about the amount of labor I was charged, and if it was fair. AGAIN, I was told that 1.8 hours of labor would have been a "FAIR" rate if they were not going to do a brake shoe replacement. He explained that because they were already replacing drums and brake shoes, everything was already apart. At this point I was furious and really started studying my bill. WHAT I FOUND NEXT WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE! I was billed for a BRAKE FLUID EXCHANGE, to the tune of $80.00. First, No one ever asked me if they should do a "BRAKE FLUID EXCHANGE". Most shops would simply top off the brake fluid that was lost while changing the wheel cylinders. The bill also noted that they used a quart of Brake fluid. You can buy a quart of brake fluid at any auto parts store for around $5;00. I was taken advantage of. Watch out for the bogus UPSELL after you are there! read more
