I was in the area and thinking that this spot was probably a horrible idea especially so close to their closing time. I was completely wrong! I live in Beaverton and the redemption center by me is a mess with a very long line of people cashing in their max. This was shockingly efficient - even with the people in line who clearly know what's what and are ready to rock. Everyone was averaging 2 bags. There is a security person right at the door calling out the free lane for you to go to. The floor was clean and I was just impressed as to the efficiency and how fast it was.

Our leftover items the machine wouldn't take and our bags were covered in filth by the time we were done and there is no trash bin you can put that trash in. I did not want to put it in my car, so what am I supposed to do with it? The answer is plan ahead and bring an additional clean bag so you can get the stuff back home. But the reality is that 95% of ppl at the bottle drop are homeless. So why is the city not providing a trash bin nearby?? It's ridiculous. In my case it wasn't much trash and we were parked outside a nearby business so we put the trash in a trash can outside. There was no sign saying what sort of trash was allowed or not allowed. The security guard for the business (Lowe's) was outside and didn't say a thing when I put the trash in the bin. He then took the trash back out and chased us down with it! It was uncalled for! What a power trip! Why not have a sign on the trash can, or say "I'm sorry no recycling trash in that bin". When I asked why he didn't just say something or have a sign he immediately became volatile saying "have fun sleeping outside"! H clearly is blinded by hatred for the homeless community that makes up the majority of folks in that area bc neither myself or my son look homeless anyway but it still doesn't excuse his behavior. In the end though.. where are homeless ppl supposed to put their garbage?? Carry it around for eternity?? Can the bottle drop area get a trash can for crying out loud?? Portland residents are taxed enough to support a dumpster. I don't think it's an unreasonable request seeing how the mission of the bottle drop is supposedly to keep Oregon clean and pristine. What a joke!!

I feel the company is cheating it's customers saying in their website they will be charged $33.00 until they actually get their and are hit with a Dry commingled fee of $29.00 I get that Dee.. also a Transaction fee of $14.00/Fuel surcharge fee of $7.00 and a Corp tax fee of $4.00. Very disappointed and will let my friends and social media know what a rip off the customer gets once theY pull up To the booth. I arrived at 5:02pm to find the gate closed and the staff at the gate turned me away. Her response was to come back the next day at 8am (when I'm working). I under stand operation hours, however the rigidity displayed by the staff was unhelpful given the small size of the load I was trying to deposit (a single couch). I'm sure there were still other customers inside at the time. The hours of operation are ridiculous as well. It is a disservice to customers for the waste station to have traditional banker's hours and not have alternate hours available during the week. These hours conflict with the availability of most working customers.

The recycling side has always been set up efficiently with friendly staff and a clean environment. They take a wide range of items. If you're ever unsure, check their website for a full list. On our most recent visit to the recycling area we were abruptly and rudely scolded for driving a company vehicle to drop off 3 gallons of antifreeze. My husband had recently flushed the coolant in his classic car and didn't want to transport the antifreeze in his fully restored car, so he decided to bring it to the recycling center in his work truck. The woman in the hazardous waste area jumped on us as soon as we pulled up, accusing us of bringing 'business' waste and not personal waste. We assured her it was from a personal vehicle. She seemed skeptical. It was a pretty awkward transaction. Other than our most recent experience, I would recommend this central transfer and recycling center.

Expect very long wait times if…read moreyou don't have the green bags to drop off- That is one of the nicest option they have and very convenient, but you don't get your money right away (usually in a day or two). The drop off door is on the side near the entrance. You need your card to open the door (wait three seconds to pull). After I go drop off my cans, I go in and get a box of bags and print some tags. *Usually* there is paper for tags, but if it's busy and they're out, your best bet is to come back later. Your maxed allowed bags to drop off every three months is 15. A nice pro is there usually is security around. I am giving this location low stars because of just how... busy and not so clean it can get. The area is also sketch as it's in a high crime area with business slowly moving away. Line is long outside the door, but only a certain amount can be in. Line also forms pretty early in the AM. Parking is tight. I wish I could give The workers the 5 stars as they are always nice and helpful and I'm thankful they show up. There is also the bottle drop app that is convenient that has your card on it and balance and remaining bags.

She made racist remarks about Mexicans and people of color and even threatened my sister with a year-long ban from entry. The worker next to her witnessed the situation but didn't help. This encounter left my sister upset, and my mom, who is unwell, is worried about her. We deserve respectful treatment regardless of our culture or skin color.

I hated taking my recycling and trash down when it gets full because there is only one trash area in my complex and it was a major wreck! Now that ZipEco is offered to us I love "trash day". The person working our route is always here right at 7pm so I can bring in the receptacle before I head to sleep for the night. The instructions for use are well explained and easy to do, and nightly service makes it easy to stay on top of your housework. Before my roommates and I would stuff the trash so full we could barely close it because none of us wanted to take the trash down the stairs and then fight for space in the full dumpster. My neighbors never flattened their cardboard boxes down so the recycling was a nightmare every week. Now with the rules ZipEco has in place they have to flatten the boxes and recycle correctly if they want it to be taken! ZipEco was the best idea my management has ever had, I appreciate this company so much, they make the worst part of housework way easier for me.
