Love this diner! Nothing fancy but the service is always great and so is the food. Looking for something local - this is it.

Way overpriced for basic food that is mediocre. Totally tasteless soup like cream of water. Tiny, expensive clubhouse sandwich. Bread/toast usually barely toasted. Dry French toast lacking egg saturation. Burger patty unseasoned & bland. Turkey gravy (wallpaper paste!) loaded with flour and tasteless like the soup. Breakfast egg muffin $10! Breakfast for 2 is $35 before tip for cheap sausages, eggs, coffee. Lunches more expensive. Fries & cole slaw pretty good. Please improve your quality and we will be your loyal patrons! read more

Came here today because it was highly reviewed on Google but that was my first mistake. Took forever just to be served with menus and then water took another 100 years and don't even get me started on how long it took to receive the food. Paint drying would've been faster. Not only was there a hair in our mashed potatoes (which we didn't even want to bother mentioning because we had already waited an hour to get this food), all of the food is so bland. My friend even found an old, disgusting what we believe to be a green bean in his breakfast plate which does not come with mixed veggies. The waitress forgot our soup too. Went here for breakfast around 9:30 Thursday morning for bacon egg breakfast. No wait time and breakfast arrived very quickly.... Hmmmmm. It was lukewarm and my guess is that it was standing around " premade" and ready to serve. Terrible !!!!!! How can you screw up a classic like bacon eggs and home fries with toast!!! Stopped in on the way through the area and it was a big mistake, food and service quality does not even remotely match the prices. The service was beyond atrocious, not sure if our server was having a bad day, but taking it out on customers does not lead to repeat visits. Having to do the math myself when the cashier charges for items that were never ordered because they don't want to cancel the figures entered into the cash register is pathetic. The food itself was unique to describe it nicely. The scrambled eggs that accompanied my breakfast were just hard boiled and slightly mashed, bizarre. Toast was burned black, sausages were wet inside, not greasy, but actually wet wet, and the home fries were just potatoes cut in quarters and only semi-cooked. One of the reasons I stopped in was because the restaurant has been around for almost 90 years so I figured they must do something right, bad assumption on my part. Either they have hired very low caliber employees in recent years or just don't care about customers who aren't local, overall it was a very disappointing experience. read more

Good for a fast meal and coffee if you don't expect much but just want to fill your belly. Service is barley adequate and the food is a plain. It reminds me of a Zellers or Kmart cafeteria. I've eaten here lots and its always the same, which can be good. At least you know what you're getting. It is known locally as the restaurant in town for Haliburton and any weekend you'll find the tables full for breakfast as the local crowds and cottagers cram in for bacon and eggs. There is a new issue. While prices are going up for everyone, they are also going up for the Kosy and that's fair enough. But increases are such that locals are beginning to go somewhere else ... where exactly is debatable but other than July-August, you will not have a problem finding a seat. Example: want gravy with your fries? roast beef sandwich? there's an extra $1 charge not noted on the menu as near as I could tell! PS BTW, they don't sell roast beef sandwiches any more ... oh dear! read more

Who rates a diner 5 stars? Someone who has been going there for more than 40 years. I was thrown off when they moved, but at least it's easier to get into now. Like many who venture into cottage country there are certain rituals one must perform. Water at Dover Spring Road, check the beaver dam to make sure it isn't going to be give way again, fishing license, leaches and minnows and Kosy Korner. To the restaurant. The food is pure diner gold. Breakfasts are simple and delicious, lunch for me has been BLT and fires & gravy. The near perfect combination of food. KK delivers a great small town experience. Fast, friendly and good food. Keep it going for another 40 years. read more

Kozy Korner is a favourite with locals which is always a good sign. I've eaten breakfast there a number of times. The food is good. The service is polite and unrushed. I have two complaints. The menu is basic and unimaginitive. And they have no wifi, which I have come to expect at good breakfast spots. read more

We were on our way to dogsledding in Haliburton and needed to stop for a lunch break. As there were fewer and fewer restaurants in sight the farther north we drove, we were glad that we found this local diner in town. The feelings that I had as I walked in: cozy, homey and traditional. If you are hungry and needed an all day breakfast fix fast, drive no further and stop over. I had a satisfying vegetable omelette with rye toasts and tea. The homemade french fries on my hubby's sandwich plate were awesome too. read more

Just gross. I've been coming here for 50+ years, and in the last five years, it has quickly gone downhill. Nothing seems to be cooked fresh anymore. The northern fried chicken was cold in the middle and hot in the outside. Microwaved. The spaghetti dish had sauce splattered all over the rim. Hot on the edges, cold in the middle. Also microwaved. We stopped going for a few years, but ended up there for breakfast three weeks ago. Disgusting. The eggs were wet! Bacon and sausage was obviously microwaved! And the price? Over $50 for one bacon sandwich and two basic breakfasts. So disappointing that a local institution has changed so drastically. There's something terribly wrong if you can't get basic comfort food right. read more

This was the worst dining experience I have had in the last few years. The waitress was very rude during our entire meal. At one point she returned to ask how everything was and I told her the 2-egg omelette was simply awful (they scrambled two eggs, threw in some ham and onions and cooked until burnt, so It ended up on the plate looking like blackish/yellow rubber). The waitress then poked and prodded the omelette like she didn't believe me and then she wanted to argue that there was nothing wrong with it rather than offer a solution. She didn't offer to get my wife something else; she didn't offer to take it off the bill; she simply argued with me and then walked away. Additionally, the sausage and bacon had that "cooked yesterday" consistency to them. We walked out of the restaurant in shock that a business could be run so poorly. We've been eating at Kozy Korner for years. Today, it was really evident that it's going down hill. To start with, we were not welcomed when we arrived. When I food arrived, there were a few issues. The orange juice has been changed to a cheaper one...leaves an after taste in your mouth. The home fries were so dry that they stuck to our throats as we tried to swallow them. The bacon was definitely cheap...it had a bad after taste. And, the coffee was so strong it tasted like sludge. The worst part...the owner had no interest in hearing any feedback. She walked away from me as I was trying to share information about our experience. Then one of the waitresses came to collect our money. She had even less interest in hearing our feedback. Great local, family friendly place, even placemats with activities for all ages on the back. Great fresh turkey items. My favourite is Greek salad with dark turkey. It just needs a little more feta to be perfect. Also the turkey club, with real turkey. All day breakfast. Free street parking after 6pm read more

One of the best restaurants in Haliburton! Delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. They offer a wide variety of items on their menu so there's something for everyone. Excellent desserts as well! I highly recommend stopping by Kosy Korner, it has a lovely cottage-country atmosphere accompanying the wonderful food and service. read more

I can't believe i just paid $19 for a Greasy undersized Hot Hamburger with an undersized portion of fries and cup of coffee. I remember going to the Kozy Korner when I was a kid and couldn't wait till our next camp week, just so I could visit it and have lunch there again. I think maybe the owners have gotten the taste of Big Money and are taking advantage of the poor folks who can't afford the Muskoka lifestyle, so they figure they must be still willing to shell out cash for lunch, after saving all those bucks on a cheaper piece of heaven. Maybe I'm bitter, but just once, just once, I'd like to see a place remain true it's origin. I really don't know what the poor retirees who live in the area do to afford the prices. I will never go there again and if anyone does choose to go, just remember that places in the big city are offering a better breakfast or lunch for half the price, Really. read more
