How often do you get to dine at a restaurant right next to a gas station?! It's quite bizarre to me but inside the restaurant was quite pretty. Friendly and fast service. Their naan/bread and hummus was the star of the show for me and I'm not even a fan of hummus. They kept giving us refills without having to wave them down. I was almost full by the time the main dish came! Visited last night. I'd been here before and the food was delicious. This time I didn't really get to the food. I'd ordered my selection, and I would have preferred a beer to accompany my meal, but they don't serve beer. OK, fine, I'll simply have water. When the waitress started bringing the included appetizers, she brought a glass, and a plastic bottle of water. "I didn't order that" I said. "You ordered water" she replied. "Yeah, tap water." "We don't serve tap water." I was getting upset. The prices at this restaurant are not cheap (typical meat dish is around $37). And here they are wanting to chisel me for more more money? I considered taking the glass to the washroom and filling it with tap water, but decided against that. I've come to expect water and refills from my wait person. I thought: I'm being ridiculous. I should just enjoy the meal. I started eating the bread and appetizers. But, no, it was really bothering me. I put some money on the table ($10 in change. I didn't have small bills.), got up and told the waitress I was leaving. She asked me to wait while she told her chef about this. He was sitting at a table near the door, doing something with his phone. She explained to him I was leaving. I added that it was because of the water, that it was a "slap in the face"; and walked out the door. He barely looked up from his phone. I'm sorry I left so much. They've lost a customer. I'm never returning there. They didn't even offer glass bottles of water. The plastic is single use, so it fills the landfills. And there are health concerns with microplastics. Insane. When I told my wife about the no tap water thing, she said "I hope you didn't stay!" Which was a relief because I thought maybe I'd overreacted. What do you think? The warmth and politeness of the staff in this Turkish restaurant added a pleasant touch to our dining experience. To start, they served us salad and cucumber yogurt with food plus freshly baked bread. Also, we had the pistachio rolls which are perfect for their creamy Turkish coffee! Food: 4/5 Great portions and very well balanced flavors. Love the ezme here, which is a little sweeter than I'm used to but so so refreshing and paired well with everything. The beyti was good but nothing extraordinary and had a smaller portion than the rest of the dishes. If you like a light creamy flavor then the beyti and yogurt kebab might be a good choice for you, but I personally found it nothing special. Personal favorites were by far the Antayka kebab and the Lamb Shish. For the savoury food lovers out there, these are for you! Came with a bit of everything and overall well seasoned and delicious. Dessert: baklava was exactly what you would expect from a Turkish restaurant. Nothing extraordinary but always a great finish to the meal! Cold baklava was my personal favorite. Good ambiance. Nice decor with some little details on their stone oven and flooring. Food is actually delicious , even for someone who tried Turkish food for the first time. Servers were very friendly and know their menu well. My taste bud like the food. The food portion may look light, but don't be fooled by the picture. I left with full stomach and satisfaction. We actually ordered chicken Shish and grilled meatball. But missed the photo for grilled meatball. In sum, both dishes are good. They are both full of flavour but still makes your refreshing after eating. Appetizers are also a must try. Overall, I recommand the restaurant. read more

We went there for the first time, the space was so tight, the waiter got our order late. I ordered coke for myself and water for my husband, they didn't bring us the beverage. Food was good quality. They didn't take the plates till we wanted the bill. In the bill, they calculated the beverage!!! I mentioned we didn't have them already so they had to change the bill without saying sorry I didn't give them tip. And I don't think I will go there again. The food is not bad, but the service is simply terrible. We went with friends for lunch and decided to start with tea and dessert, which wasn't cheap by the way. We were denied because according to restaurant rules, you can't order dessert unless you have ordered the main course first. Really? New restaurant rules in Toronto. We decided to introduce our kids visiting from the states for Turkish food. We sat down outside patio, and made our orders. My daughter asked for tap water. The waiter told us that their policy was to only sell bottles water. My son-in-law asked if he cold grab his water bottle from the car and use that at the table. The waiter said that was fine. My daughter asked for cups and he brought them. My daughter than took the glasses, went to their bathroom and filled the glasses. The waiter came over and told us off. He was surly, telling us it was corporate policy and we could leave. He started lying to us saying the water in the bathroom was undrinkable. My wife responded by asking him if they cook with that water. I smiled at hm and said, come on, this is Toronto and all tap water is drinkable. Basically he suggested we leave and he won't charge us for the food already delivered to our table. He was obviously upset that my daughter outsmarted him. It was his tone that he used with us. The way he talked down to my daughter that made it easy to leave. As it turned he was the manager. It's too bad. He lost us as customers and we will repeat this story, probably for years. I can't say much about the service situation as others have commented, but the food itself seemed pretty decent. The doner was flavorful enough to enjoy without any sauce, and the side salad tasted pretty fresh. My family comes once or twice a week here. We are addicted. And have our friends coming regularly too. Yogurt and kebab dishes are fabulous. Mountain salad is amazing. So many unique combinations of flavours. When I was on Keto I also liked their Donner salad. And the Mountain Salad is just so wow... pomegranate, crushed walnuts, diced tomato and diced cucumber- splendid. I ordered a sampler pide. I was never a fan of pide since my past experience is just average. But their pide really amazes me. The sampler has three distinct sections of topping: cheese, ground meat and diced steak with veggies. The cheese topping has a mild milky taste and is neither gooey or tough. Went there with my wife and cousin. Service is really bad. They were very busy and there does not seem to be a process of creating a waitlist for customers who come in. Once we got a table and we ordered our food they did not bring us our ordered appetiser. My wife's main dish came fairly quickly which we believe was for another table. My cousin got his enteee 20 minutes later and mine came another 10 minutes after that. Waiter never came by asking how anything was or if we needed anything else. Then we must have waited at least another half hour after we finished eating to get the waiters attention to get our bill. Went there yesterday for lunch-I figured I'd try something a bit different. menu looked ok-they had two different meats rotating on skewers-one appeared to be Gyro-which they call Donner-the other resembeled chicken. Visited this restaurant several weeks ago. While we were puzzled by the fact that they seem to be the only restaurant in this city that doesn't serve tap water, only bottled water, the food and presentation were good as was the decor of the restaurant. I have been trying to make a reservation for several days. The website says "contact us" and gives a phone number and email address. The phone is not picked up, there is no voice mail capability, and finally one is disconnected. I wrote an email which was not answered. I tried to call again this morning and there was the same endless ringing with no response on their end. I don't know how they can maintain their business with such poor customer care. read more
