    Tandoori Chicken

We came here on a weekday for dinner and enjoyed the positive vibes, friendly service and tasty food. The staff are very welcoming and make sure you are well taken care of. The restaurant was also very busy with takeout orders. We ordered "Mantu", "Bolani" from appetizers menu and "Shish Kebob" and "NK Mix Platter" to share. NK Mix Platter is served with Qabli Rice, Basmati Rice, Fries and salad. Our food was more than enough for 7 people. And it was fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked to our liking. My favorites were Tandoori Chicken and Shami Kabob; they had a nice kick to them.

We wanted something light and healthy since we were eating out so often. Decided on this afghan restaurant which was such a good choice! Each plate was roughly $25 and came w/ 2 proteins, side salad, side pita and rice. Was a good portion size and it was really yummy! I have no complaints. The staff was friendly, food came out decently fast and we felt good eating at this place!

This is an Afghan restaurant, and it is their newest location. The soft-opening was on 2023-11-22, and thei grand opening will be on 2023-11-28. They will give out 500 free Kabobs. The interior is spacious, bright, and modern. There are 2 booths at the ground level, and the rest of the seating in the back is accessed 2 steps up. You order and pay at the front counter, and they will bring the food to you. I ordered the Saffron & Pistachio Ice Cream ($9.99), which comes on top of a deep-fried naan. The ice cream itself tastes fantastic. There are also small slices of white chocolate. I didn't know those three flavours went well together. And the deep-fried naan complements the flavours well. Currently, their printed menu says the ice cream is $7.99, but that was the old from another location. The $9.99 pricing includes a much bigger scoop and a baked naan. There is a huge open kitchen. There is no free WiFi, but there will be in the near future. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are separate male/female washrooms downstairs, hence they are not wheelchair accessible. Review 2023-383

Really nice clean modern place with ultra fresh high-quality food. Liked this platter as it had some nice mildly spice tandoori chicken, kebabs, basmati, rice, and plain chicken kebabs and salad to cool off the spiciness. The regular chicken kebab and ground beef or excellent also

Got takeout from here for the first time and IT WAS TOO GOOD!!!! Every single dish was 12/10. Packed with flavours and freahness. Absolutely no complaints or critiques. This spot deserves immense recognition and attention not only for their food, but also their staff (who were phenomenal and very sweet). 17/10 recommend.

The I Heart Butter Tart Concrete ($6.49) that I ordered was a little too much for myself. I did decide to go through and finish the ice cream / sundae just so I don't have anything to go. The interior of the place was properly though out and well designed. Self order stations are available to order from and the ordering interface is one of the better systems I have seen. When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

We ordered medium spicy for the papaya salad and it only had a slight kick. I wished the salad portion was more as it was gone pretty quickly. It comes with shrimp chips, pork rinds, and 2 small bundles of rice noodles. The dried shrimp in the salad was very chewy though, which made it a bit less enjoyable. I ended up picking them all out. We ordered spicy for the pad gra prow but it wasn't spicy at all. I think you can ask for the Thai chilis/ Thai chili fish sauce thing on the side but we decided we were fine with no spicy. Unfortunately the crispy pork was not crispy at all and was also very chewy. Overall it was still delicious! The Khao soi mightve honestly been the least favorite, but it was still good. It is on the sweeter side. The egg noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice chew. Sometimes when I get Khao soi it ends up being too heavy or creamy, but the curry for this one was thinner and easy to eat. The shrimp was the best part - super fresh and bouncy. In the end I thought the portions and quality were good. The service was also super nice, and it was impressive to see our waitress cover so many tables. The restrooms were also clean.

This is their second location, in a build with 3 other food vendors. It is mostly a takeout restaurant. There is a small counter where you could stand and eat. There are six set combinations. Or you can build your own pasta (BYOP) combo. On the soft-opening day (2025-01-20), they were offering an opening special of Mac N Cheese with BBQ Chicken sample and a drink for only $6.99. I ordered the following: 1. BYOP: Garlic Shrimp, penne, rose sauce, broccoli, black olives, mushrooms. It automatically comes with sliced green peppers and chopped parsley. 2. Opening Special ($6.99) x 2. For the BYOP, they didn't warn me it was medium spicy. I can handle it with a cold drink! The shrimp and penne were perfectly cooked. I loved the rose sauce. My choices of broccoli,  black olives, and mushrooms worked well together and with the base. The Opening Special was delicious; the Mac n Cheese part and BBQ Chicken were really good! Unfortunately, the BBQ was mildly spicy, and my son didn't like it; more for me! The customer service was good. It took them a long time to prepare the food (there were many orders prior to mine). But it was opening day, so hopefully, they will speed up their cooking. There is no free WiFi. The food stall is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-014

Similarly while I would not consider this quite a fusion restaurant, the food was indeed delicious! Most of the rice sides, had furikake sprinkled on top which always enhances the flavor. The sushi selection was good! The top items for me were the cod and lobster/shrimp udon. Again neither were quite executed as fusion (IMO) but nonetheless it was delicious! The steak was also good, but steak is more readily available on most menus elsewhere. The potato and egg salad as an app also made the top list. It was super creamy and paired nicely with the crunchy chips! The endless drink menu/option is also excellent, except I am not sure how much alcohol was actually in there because within the group of 13 people, most of us did not feel even slightly tipsy. The ambiance is beautiful and really embraces a jungle with vibrant colors intertwined into the interior. the bathroom however, is a different story as it is at the end of a very dark hallway. Not sure if they turn the lights on at night, but for someone with poor vision, it was hard to see as the light reflected off the walls. The servers were friendly and with a large group like ours, we did have some dishes that just never made it out so we did need to flag someone down for them about an hour or so in.

The…read morerestaurant itself is a whole experience... it was super colourful, modern, and upscale without feeling too stiff. My friend and I were seated near the bar area, so instead of regular dining chairs, we had those lower, wider lounge-style seats. It made the whole experience feel a bit more relaxed while still fitting the upscale ambiance. We decided to go all out and order a variety of dishes so we could really experience what the restaurant had to offer. To start, my friend ordered the El Camino while I went with the Chicha Sagrada. Mine came with a toasted marshmallow on a skewer, which was such a fun touch. The drink itself was lightly sweet with a cinnamon flavour that kind of reminded me of cinnamon heart candies, but not overly spicy at all, super easy to sip between bites and conversation. For food, we started with the Yasai Miso Crispy Sushi. The crispy rice gives it such a satisfying crunch in every bite, and the veggie topping ties everything together nicely. Definitely one of those dishes you keep reaching for. The Yellowtail "Nikkei Sashimi" was fresh and evenly cut, and the yuzu soy sauce gave each bite a bright, citrusy finish. I was expecting a bit more truffle flavour, but the citrus really stood out instead and made the dish super refreshing. We also got the Dragon Roll. It looked fairly simple, but sometimes simple really works. The unagi sauce was drizzled around the plate as decoration, but once you dip the roll in, it brings everything together really well. The shrimp tempura inside was fried perfectly... still had a nice bite and wasn't mushy at all. The Pulled Asado Beef Taco was a standout for me. Super crunchy shell, really tender beef, and that slightly sweet creamy sauce with pickled veggies on top just worked so well together. We also shared the Chicken Sliders and Wagyu Sliders. The chicken was juicy and tender, but the bottom bun got quite soft from the sauce, making it a bit messy and harder to hold. Still tasty, just not the best texture. The Wagyu sliders, on the other hand, were easily our favourite of the night... super juicy beef, truffle coming through in every bite, and overall rich without feeling heavy. Overall, a really solid experience. The ambience alone makes it feel like a special night out, but the food holds up too, especially if you're into sharing plates and trying a bit of everything. It's definitely on the pricier side, but it feels worth it for the full experience.

This time I came for a light night bite after a concert, since they close at 2am, and everything we had was delicious. And the menu is…read morepretty clear to warn when most dishes include allergens (it's a bit spotty on eggs, and doesn't warn about dairy at all), so be aware of that if you have any allergies or intolerances. And I'm not blaming the staff here AT ALL, but something I've encountered at multiple bubble tea shops in the city as someone who is casein intolerant (that's the protein in milk, unlike lactose, which is the sugar and what most people think of when you say you can't have dairy), is that they claim they use a dairy-free creamer for their milk teas, when it's likely actually just lactose-free (which is still no good for me, since casein is the problem). Casein is something that is also separated from milk and made into various caseinates, used as an emulsifier in tons of things (processed meats, breads, pastas - even paint for some reason). And I react to it the same way someone with celiac disease would react to gluten - not with an immediate anaphylactic allergic reaction, but more like intestinal distress, chronic inflammation, brain fog, fatigue, etc. So I have learned to looked up a place's nutritional information in advance if I can. But Twilight Cafe doesn't list theirs online at all, so i have to assume they use the same creamer every other bubble tea shop claims is dairy-free, only to list online that it is NOT SAFE for milk allergies. And then I have to be the jerk who insists they still not use their "dairy-free" creamer in my drink and sub in something like oat or almond milk instead (thankfully, they DO offer these here - a lot of places only offer soy milk, which isn't great for me either). So yeah, all that to say, be careful if you have allergies or intolerances (as usual), make SURE to tell staff about them when ordering and remind them when they give you your order (to make sure they didn't forget and make your food the normal way if they were supposed to change it), and don't be afraid to ask for changes if you're not absolutely sure the regular option is safe.
