The service was nice and so was the ambiance. The location is very small. You're sitting alongside the chef's. Not the greatest experience since the place can get smokey. Our waiter/bartender didn't have a structured place to make our drinks. The naan bread was terrible, the raves mislead The calamari was really good. The butter chicken was tender and the sauce was fantastic. The salad that came with the butter chicken meal wasn't a hit for me. I don't think I'd go back.

Fantastic restaurant in downtown core. I was attending a performance nearby with a friend and was drawn to this restaurant because of its unique menu offerings. Because it's small, we booked a reservation online, and I'm glad we did as tables filled up very quickly in the evening. I ordered the wild boar papardelle, which I loved. The meat was tender and juicy, the sauce was creamy, and the herbs and cheese garnish added an extra kick of flavour. I've been trying to find this wild boar pasta of the same quality after trying it a couple years in a different restaurant and am very glad that I found it here. I even tried it in Rome where it had been dry and the flavour quite flat/boring. The venue itself is cozy and initimate so it works very well for smaller parties and you're able to actually converse over a meal. Service was friendly and attentive and our waitress made some great recommendations from the menu. The kitchen is open concept which is good use of the smaller space and decor is polished and elegant. This has become one of my favorite spots in the city not only due to its fair pricing and portion size, but because of the quality and care put into the food. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area

This place offers weekend brunch and boasts vegan options, stating that 3 items on their brunch menu can be made vegan (benedict, scramble, and shakshuka). When I asked the server what the vegan options were for these dishes, she said they just removed the egg, meat and dairy items. ??? So what does that leave remaining for the benedict? The English muffins and some tomato maybe? "Yeah, I wouldn't recommend ordering that." No kidding. What a joke of a "vegan option". So instead, since we were with another group, we ordered vegan options off their lunch menu: a lentil pasta and a vegan risotto. Both were fine but nothing special. The risotto was oddly soupy. Both dishes lacked veggies and protein, and were simply rather lacklustre. The Americanos we ordered were also quite watery. The place is nice but that's the only positive thing I can say about it. Deceptively labeled vegan options and uninteresting vegan lunch options.

Excellent food! Went here as part of their Winterlicious event in 2024 and the food was amazing! The chef came out and chatted with us and personally asked us if everything was to our liking. He told us his origin story basically haha. The place is quiet and seating space is minimum so I expect it to be quite popular for takeout. I highly recommend the butter chicken! It does not taste North Indian at all HOWEVER it tastes amazing. There's a twist to it and it's extremely flavourful!

Cheffrey is an awesome spot! The food is super flavorful, fresh, and made with care. You can really tell they focus on quality. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Some dishes have too similar sauces though

Wow, what a find! I was in Toronto on business and there were plenty of fancy restaurants around my hotel but I was looking for something kinda unique and casual. Cheffry's was perfect! I was lucky to get seated as a walk in at 8pm on a Monday. The space is small with only 7 tables so I imagine it fills up quickly There's one server and he was very friendly and efficient. At the server's recommendation, I started with a Steam Whistle beer, a pilsner made in Canada and a solid choice. For the starter I wanted a small salad and they were kind enough to let me order a half portion of the superfood salad, which was delicious. The blueberries were plump and juicy (from New Brunswick it turns out) and even the pumpkin seeds were tasty. For my main I had the butter chicken which came out piping hot (I was sitting right next to the quasi-open kitchen). No room for desert, but I'm sure it was as good as the rest of the menu. This is the rare restaurant where ingredients are selected and prepared with great thought and their love of food comes out. They want to make sure their diners share in that. Fantastic meal, and I would definitely return!

Has a varied and eclectic menu but everything was delicious, well presented, and made with care. Notes: they have an open kitchen and seating is tight with high top chairs and tables.

Came here for dinner last night with my boyfriend. On initial entry, we honestly were not expecting much based on aesthetics and how little of a place this was. However, we stayed based on the insane reviews and we knew the food must just be the star of the show at this place. For an appetizer we ordered the cauliflower. My boyfriend wouldn't have ordered this, but he finished the plate that's how good this dish was. The sauce was phenomenal and the textures came together so nicely. I'd definitely recommend this meal. For entrees, we had the orzo with meat and that is the ultimate meal.... We agreed this dish itself might be one of the best meals we've had in Toronto! The orzo is so creamy and the flavors are just unreal. The meat is so soft and so filling! The other entree we got was just eh compared to the other. I ordered the striploin, took one bite and switched with my boyfriend because I liked his dish better. They need a star on the menu next to the orzo entree because people just should be coming here for that dish alone! I am excited to come back and try more meals here because I'm sure everything is delicious. All of the workers and chefs at this place were so kind! Very nice people that elevate the mood of the restaurant. Check this place out!

    Crumbled fish & chips

Fantastic fish and frites Food: We made a group order, and I had the crumbled fish and chips for take out. When I opened the takeout box, the breaded fish was still very crispy on the outside while soft, delicate, and flakey inside, with a great texture. The nori between the fish helped maintain the crispiness of the fish, and the tartar sauce was nice and balanced with the fish. The fries also came with a dipping sauce, and were aromatic from the masala/spices and perfectly fried, making it a great combo with an Indian touch. Service: We received our order fairly quickly and everything was cooked perfectly!

We placed a reservation here for a Saturday night after seeing their 5.0-star rating on Google reviews (500+ reviews). While walking towards the bistro, we were immediately hit with an aroma of Indian curries and spices! The restaurant was on the smaller side, paired with classy decor (beautiful aqua lounge chairs, matching glasses, a dimmable touch lamp at each table, and geometric salt/pepper shakers). The open kitchen concept was a nice touch, allowing diners to watch the food being made. The plating for each dish was done beautifully with care. Due to the high volume of guests and smaller kitchen, there is a bit of wait for the food, although understandable as the food is made fresh to order. We had the wild boar pappardelle and braised lamb shank. Immediately, I was blown away by the sauce for the lamb as it was spicy and bursting with spices. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and came straight out of the oven. The sauce for the pappardelle made it one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a while, and while I generally find the al-dente consistency at Italian places a little too hard, this pasta was cooked perfectly. The prices were affordable for the quality and presentation you get. The bistro is a lovely date night spot. We can definitely see how the restaurant earned its well-deserved 5/5 star rating and vow to return to try all their other dishes.

The eclectic menu at this chef-owned restaurant is absolutely delightful. While I know there's a trend to focus and specialize in cuisines, it's refreshing to be offered such a variety of really tasty dishes from different parts and palettes. Stopped by for dinner and tried a number of things: - Homemade Kettle Chips: On the saltier side, a good appetizer to start. - Masti Salad: Get why this is a signature dish. It's a salad with a whole lot of different stuff so just the chaos of flavours is fun. - Lentil Calamari Fritti: The calamari was slightly sweet and had a great texture. The lentil and capers made things pop. - Chicken Souvlaki Burger: Good chunk of juicy roasted chicken with all the fix-ins of a classic burger. - Californian Cut Striploin: Tender meat over a bed of smooth puree. - Blueberry Cheesecake: Heavy and divine. Think they use goat's milk since taste was elevated. - Tiramisu: Classic tiramisu with an espresso pour-over. Yum! Chef stopped by our table to ask us how things were. Server filled water diligently. Atmosphere was warm and welcoming. It's these little things, on top of that beautifully varied menu, that will keep us coming back here.

It's a small and intimate bistro with many selections of food options. Today's special was a Diwali special including butter chicken and saffron rice with a gulab jamum on the side. Good portion. Rice was a bit clumpy but the butter chicken was on point!

After a hangout with friends, we decided to try out Cheffry's Bistro as it was a good close by option. We made reservations beforehand and were able to get seated quickly. The menu had a good selection of Indian fusion food and great halal options. Butter chicken poutine: The fries were crunchy and went well with the butter chicken sauce. Nice twist from the classic poutine and super flavourful! It's a great sharing dish as a quick appetizer before the main meal. Pappardelle pasta with boar: First time having a sauce that's like this. They were generous with the boar portions, so it definitely was a good value for what you get. The pasta had a nice texture and went well with the sauce. It didn't look super filling at first, but it ended up making you full at the end! The location is a bit more tucked away and not as visible within Spadina Ave. The seating space is a bit limited, so I would recommend doing reservations beforehand if you're coming in a group. The food was delicious, and I would highly recommend giving this place a try!

When I dined in early afternoon on a weekday it was a rather slow day. There were a couple of Shake Shack employees constantly roaming about the premises ready to attend to any customer request. 1 such employee was thoughtful enough to serve me and a group of other customers some water. I have mixed feelings about the bathroom setup. Yes, it is clean and there were a few toilet rooms available, but it requires a code to be entered prior to using. The door screen shows as vacant but an employee still needs to give out the 4 digit code needed to access the toilets. I also found some issues with the water faucet sensors. It is inconsistently picking up my gestures resulting in an unreliable and unsteady flow of running water when I was washing my hands.

We ordered medium spicy for the papaya salad and it only had a slight kick. I wished the salad portion was more as it was gone pretty quickly. It comes with shrimp chips, pork rinds, and 2 small bundles of rice noodles. The dried shrimp in the salad was very chewy though, which made it a bit less enjoyable. I ended up picking them all out. We ordered spicy for the pad gra prow but it wasn't spicy at all. I think you can ask for the Thai chilis/ Thai chili fish sauce thing on the side but we decided we were fine with no spicy. Unfortunately the crispy pork was not crispy at all and was also very chewy. Overall it was still delicious! The Khao soi mightve honestly been the least favorite, but it was still good. It is on the sweeter side. The egg noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice chew. Sometimes when I get Khao soi it ends up being too heavy or creamy, but the curry for this one was thinner and easy to eat. The shrimp was the best part - super fresh and bouncy. In the end I thought the portions and quality were good. The service was also super nice, and it was impressive to see our waitress cover so many tables. The restrooms were also clean.

Similarly while I would not consider this quite a fusion restaurant, the food was indeed delicious! Most of the rice sides, had furikake sprinkled on top which always enhances the flavor. The steak was also good, but steak is more readily available on most menus elsewhere. The potato and egg salad as an app also made the top list. It was super creamy and paired nicely with the crunchy chips! My friend and I were seated near the bar area, so instead of regular dining chairs, we had those lower, wider lounge-style seats. It made the whole experience feel a bit more relaxed while still fitting the upscale ambiance. We decided to go all out and order a variety of dishes so we could really experience what the restaurant had to offer. To start, my friend ordered the El Camino while I went with the Chicha Sagrada. Mine came with a toasted marshmallow on a skewer, which was such a fun touch. The drink itself was lightly sweet with a cinnamon flavour that kind of reminded me of cinnamon heart candies, but not overly spicy at all, super easy to sip between bites and conversation. For food, we started with the Yasai Miso Crispy Sushi. The crispy rice gives it such a satisfying crunch in every bite, and the veggie topping ties everything together nicely. Definitely one of those dishes you keep reaching for. The Yellowtail "Nikkei Sashimi" was fresh and evenly cut, and the yuzu soy sauce gave each bite a bright, citrusy finish. I was expecting a bit more truffle flavour, but the citrus really stood out instead and made the dish super refreshing. We also got the Dragon Roll. It looked fairly simple, but sometimes simple really works. The unagi sauce was drizzled around the plate as decoration, but once you dip the roll in, it brings everything together really well. The shrimp tempura inside was fried perfectly... still had a nice bite and wasn't mushy at all. The Pulled Asado Beef Taco was a standout for me. Super crunchy shell, really tender beef, and that slightly sweet creamy sauce with pickled veggies on top just worked so well together. We also shared the Chicken Sliders and Wagyu Sliders. The chicken was juicy and tender, but the bottom bun got quite soft from the sauce, making it a bit messy and harder to hold. Still tasty, just not the best texture. The Wagyu sliders, on the other hand, were easily our favourite of the night... super juicy beef, truffle coming through in every bite, and overall rich without feeling heavy. Overall, a really solid experience. The ambience alone makes it feel like a special night out, but the food holds up too, especially if you're into sharing plates and trying a bit of everything. It's definitely on the pricier side, but it feels worth it for the full experience.

And then I have to be the jerk who insists they still not use their "dairy-free" creamer in my drink and sub in something like oat or almond milk instead (thankfully, they DO offer these here - a lot of places only offer soy milk, which isn't great for me either). So yeah, all that to say, be careful if you have allergies or intolerances (as usual), make SURE to tell staff about them when ordering and remind them when they give you your order (to make sure they didn't forget and make your food the normal way if they were supposed to change it), and don't be afraid to ask for changes if you're not absolutely sure the regular option is safe.
