Great marinated meats! The service people behind the meat counter are always so friendly and happy to help. Cashier lady... not so friendly!

I had a very disappointing experience at this store. The customer service was unprofessional, and the staff seemed uninterested in helping. The store was disorganized, and I had trouble finding what I needed. When I asked for assistance, I felt ignored, and the overall experience was frustrating. I expected much better and won't be returning. I hope the management improves customer service and the shopping experience for future customers. The store did not appear clean, and I had serious concerns about the quality and freshness of the food. The salads looked old, and I didn't feel confident buying any prepared food. The overall condition of the store made me question its food handling practices.I won't be returning and can't recommend buying prepared foods here until these issues are addressed. Please be careful what kind of meat buying they're trying to poison customers with all old fish, meat non the less they're not using high hygiene requirements at all. I will not recommend to anyone to buy any food and meat there. There are the most nasty store in the Glendale area. read more

I just literally paid $47 for 2.5lb filet mignon and he said he would need to clean it first. I waited, then he brought me a bagged up meat already which I couldn't see the inside. I came home only to find it not cleaned all fatty and I threw about half a pound or more out. How is that fare for me??? I called the store to speak to a supervisor. The lady goes "he's not there" she then asked what had happened, I told her and she goes "you didn't see the meat inside before he gave it to you?" I said "no he brought it in a bag already" then she literally paused and hung up! All these people know how to do is smoke right outside the store and I bet they don't even wash their hands! I only like one old man with white hair and the new owner seems nice. I'd love to hear from him. read more

too bad I can't give 0 stars. ive had enough from this store, the owner has become filthy rich from doing customers dirty. Almost every item I've bought here has had issues from mold to being expired. this last experience was the worst, sold me smelly expired rancid meat and when I tried to return the owner said no. too the owner..... go in your store trash and dig out that bag I threw you can eat that meat yourself and end up in the hospital. My favorite grocery store in all of LA!! Kozanyan has the freshest meat at reasonable prices along with fantastic, freshly ground coffee and an amazing liquor selection. I went to stock up for a bbq and the manager behind the meat counter Marty was able to help me pick the perfect meat. He recommended their new veal lule kebob which was absolutely delicious, and all the meats were perfectly marinated and priced beautifully. The deli section is also amazing with the hands down best chi kufteh I've had in my life. Another manager, David was extremely friendly and offered me a sample of the Kozanyan special blend coffee which was amazing and priced so well. Their liquor selection is extensive and I was able to find bottles no one else stocks all for fantastic prices. I will for sure be using Kozanyan exclusively as my favorite grocery store. read more

Wish I had found this place a long time ago. Absolute hidden gem, their meat selection was vast and delicious. Wanted to find something unique for my girlfriends family and they had veil lulu that I wish I got more of. My mom and I have been coming here for years! I love love LOVE their marinated meat selection, especially the little chicken drumettes that you can fry up in the skillet or throw on the barbecue--either way, you can't go wrong. It's freaking delicious and super fresh. They often have specials on their meat and poultry selection, so it's worth it to pop in and check out what you can score a deal on. The gentlemen at the deli/butcher section are always pleasant and efficient. The rest of the store is stocked with various Armenian/Slavic foods. I personally love Russian sweets, and they have them in bins towards the checkout. They also stock Kinder, which throws me way back to the early '90s. If you've never had a Kinder chocolate before, IT'S TIME. Do yourself a favor and get one. It's marked up quite a bit here (and definitely more than at Jons), but they stock a few items that Jons doesn't carry for this brand in particular. Whoo! Other products are hit or miss, so judge at your own discretion. I have my favorite products that keep me coming back, and that's pretty much what I'm bee-lining for every time! read more

Every time I leave this store, I am smiling. I have spent more than I intended, yet I have more than I intended, and I am eager to get my hands on each item; marinated meats, cheeses, breads, olives, nuts, honeys, creams, kefir, coffees candies, and pickled stuff, just to name a few. The meat cases are full of the most beautiful cuts of meat. The marinade is delicious. I crock pot the chunks of marinated chicken or pork, mostly. Today, I got boneless pork and 4 quail, splayed and marinated. I'll be firing up the grill shortly. The Bashkirian LINDEN honey is absolutely the best honey I have ever tasted. It is so good that I can only eat a couple of spoons. I go on sensory overload if I eat more. The people at Konzanyan are the best. Everyone is friendly and happy to help. I feel like I have walked into family and they are looking to make me happy. The store is always clean, a tight store that is well-ordered, and loaded full of goodies. The best quality meats and kebobs . We have been customers of Kozanyan for 11 years . We have our favorite butcher Tadeos , who handpicks every single piece of meat for the customers . Never disappointed! The store manager Gayaneh is such a fantastic person . Never had any question unanswered any issues ( if any) unaddressed . We live in Orange county . turns out this review was under a different kozanian's, not this one. so: i usually just buy aleppo pepper, rose water, & tea here, but today i branched out into 'soujuk' (and all beef salami/sausage-type cured spiced meat sliced thin) which totally rocks! also tried the abali cucumber yoghurt (tzatziki in greek) which was also delicious because it is made with thick greek yoghurt. i also discovered these chocolate cookies, kalbchen (which means little cow, or calf, in german) that approximate oreos, but without the disgusting chemically white center that oreos have. the cow embossed on the cookie is also fetching. also bought spice cookies with a light frosting, typical of eastern europe. great with tea! the best being: sadaf black cardomon tea. ukrainian chocolate: galante, whole hazelnuts with light wafer, cream, & chocolate. i had hoped for caramel based on the picture, but the bar was nonetheless serviceable. a tub of dried olives for $2.50. the absolute best price in town! and at certain times of year: large [10 by 20"] slabs of honeycomb. and today's indulgence: a small boulder of chocolate halvah. the last photo is for the discount store next door, whose name i neglected to note... cone bowls in spiral framework - awesome! read more

I stumbled onto this small armenian/slavic grocery getting my car serviced down the street 6 years ago and have been coming here regularly. For every impromptu bbq with friends that comes up, Kozanyan is always dependable for great and affordable marinated chicken and filet mignon for the grill. I've even called ahead to make a big order and they're super helpful getting everything together. The deli selection is also outstanding with many varieties of cured meats and feta cheeses, and not the bland limited selection you get in a typical american grocery. Shopped there on August 5, 2017. While I was unloading the basket, the cashier was checking the items out. I paid the amount and left. At home later I found that I was charged TWICE for two packs of Paradise lavash. I live a bit far from there, so called the phone number on the receipt. Horrible service. The prices marked on the juices don't match the charged price. And when I mentioned it to the cashier she just yelled out someone's Name to come check the price. And the guy who came was worse than the cashier. He said to me who the heck said that was the price. He said I made up that price. And I took him to check the price that was labeled and he couldn't say anything more cuz that was the price I saw and they were charging more. And he said nasty comments to me. I wish there was a zero , because this meat market doesn't deserve anything more then that . Terrible customer service. The guy at the meat section is trying to sell you just anything . They charge $10 lb for filet mignon but it's not filet mignon it's just beef chunks . You ask baby back ribs they charge you for it but you get just ribs with bairly any meat on it . The chicken breast ????don't even ask . I had guests coming over, so I grabbed some chicken also . We got home and started cooking , as soon as I opened the bag of chicken the smell hit my nose . Terrible old chicken . I wish I had time to go back and throw everything to there face . I called next day to tell them to take that chicken out , so nobody else will buy it , the lady tells me the owners or the management if there is one are not coming very often . Maybe Monday ???? Wow really???? After arguing with her then she tells me ok ok just bring the chicken back . To the owner of that store : you need to train your employees. Your customer service is below poor . You need to check the meat and the temperature of your refrigerators . When you have old stuff you don't get rad of it by selling it to the customer . You throw it away . When there is an issue with the customer you handle it right away . I'm sure you really don't want health department to visit you ! So whatever I bought yesterday from you guys was trash . I had to order something else for my guests , cs even after we cooked the beef it was not chewable at all . The pork was just ribs with no meat on them . Waist of my $150 .
