This was my second or third time visiting this store. Unfortunately, customer service is getting worse each time I visit. Cashiers were talking to each other and laughing , no greeting( not a big deal). Cashier lady talked to me in Armenian, I asked her in English "can you repeat please?" She repeated the same thing in Armenian. If I ask you nicely in English to repeat most probably it means I didn't understand. She ignored me and continued scanning. I even thanked her and said bye. No response. I found this very rude and disrespectful. Honestly, I will take my business somewhere else that they appreciate customers. For food, they sell international grocery items. They sell mostly Middle Eastern and Russian products. They have a small produce section which they are pricey compared to the other stores. They also sell packaged food items. For ambiance, store is clean and shelves are stocked. Employees working the floor are nice and when asked for items they help. Parking can be challenging. This location has a private parking lot. Depending on the time of the day it can be hard to find a parking spot. read more

The store is full of expired products, and many items (salads, sausages, confectionery) have no expiration date labels. After work one evening, I bought Korean-style carrots, cooked a dish, and when I started eating, I realized the carrots were spoiled! I wasted a lot of other ingredients besides the carrots--and most importantly, my time. I came back a few weeks later, and the situation hadn't changed. I've only stopped here once but the market seemed clean with international foodstuffs including chocolate bars that can be hard to find elsewhere. The produce looked super fresh as did the meats and prices seemed reasonable to me . They had several kinds of feta to choose from which was what I needed today. I also picked up some cerignola olives which can be hard to find Service was decent. - the pick a number machines were missing so I imagine if the place gets crowded that may lead to some issues I would definitely some back here read more

I cannot believe the experience I just had. I was here today June 16th at 7:30pm and the blond lady at the cheese counter was being a complete B-I-T-C-H. I was just asking her questions and she wasn't understanding me cause she didn't speak English. So she started talking shit about me in Armenian, to the other workers not knowing that I understand Armenian. I was shocked and didn't even know what to do for a second. Then I just took the courage to call her out in front of everyone there and asked for the manager's name so I could bring this up. And funny when I asked the worker her name he answered back, "no name." !!! Wow. I am so flustered and appalled! Tried to support a local business, however the lack of customer service made me feel unwelcome. Cashiers were too busy talking to each other across the room and neither of them initiated anything when it was time to checkout. Additionally, I asked for one pound of chicken-- and the clerk added extra. I understand sometimes you can't be precise, but these were chunks of chicken breast. Not steak. It was an additional 2$. My go to Armenian market when in Burbank. The store is big and well stocked. They carry a lot of imported items from Armenia such as jams, juices, cookies and more. The produce department is always organized and has fresh produce. It never disappoints. The meat department is clean, well taken care of and has a lot of marinated meat ready to cook. Not too crazy about the deli selection but it doesn't matter to me cause I don't buy a lot of cold cuts. The only thing I get from the deli is olives and cheese. 5 stars for the butcher who helped me today. As a vegetarian, I find buying meat and cooking meat absolutely repulsive. I'm grossed out and don't know much about it. My husband, a carnivore, I need to feed him meat to jeep him happy. The butcher was very helpful and understanding. He helped me pick out the cut of meat I needed and even grinder for me so I wouldn't have to. Thankful for his help. read more

One of my favorite local grocery stores. It can get a bit crowded (at least during non-covid times) because everything is tightly packed (aisles, etc.), but since the pandemic it doesn't get that busy. I'm generally really pleased with their availability of fresh produce at really reasonable prices; I almost exclusively only buy produce from Red Top unless I'm looking for something specific which they do not carry. Plus, they have a wide selection of Middle Eastern goods, making it my go-to spot for grains, spices, etc.. If you're looking for traditional "supermarket" goods it's probably not the best place to shop at though. Their prepared foods are also delicious -- personal fan of their package sarma (vegetarian dolma) and eggplant salad. Would highly recommend. read more

This is just an amazing Armenian owned grocery store. Everything is always so neatly stacked and clean. I specially love the prepared food. I always make sure to grab their salads. Theyre good for making any meal tasty. I remeber the firet time I went in and was confused on which salad to get, Kristine who prepares the salads herself, helped me with which one to get and let me tell you they were exquisite. So I come in for veggies whenever I need ingredients for dinner. I live right up the street so it's really useful. I tried some of their fresh bread and oh my GOD! It was so much bread for roughly $4. I was so in love with it, one of the tastiest breads ever. I got all my veggies, the bread, the noodles, and a snack, all for $9. I love this place so much. The employees are really nice and always make me feel welcome. Don't be intimidated or feel scared to check it out. read more

I just went to Red Top Market & Kitchen, but didn't need to buy anything. The grocer is open through the pandemic. It's walkable distance from me, but driving is actually highly recommended by the legislators for safety reasons. The parking lot is small. They have plenty fresh meats, produce, pantry staples and breads. Everything is selling fast. The merchandise boxes are constantly been cut and stacked for pickup. Beware of freshness of their meat and produce. Bought chicken breast one time and ended up throwing it in trash right after returning home and opening the bag. Horrible smell, you could tell the meat was spoiled. And it wasn't cheap either. You could buy an organic chicken for the same price at your local Trader Joe's or Ralph's. Another time bought their beef dumplings, same thing. The meat was very bad we couldn't even eat, probably old. As far for the service, cashiers are nice but there is one older gentleman at the deli who's very rude and you could stand there to be serviced and he may not even acknowledge you're there and this is when you're the only customer at the counter. Beware PRICE GOUGING $$$ Went in the other night to see what items they had because I didn't want to go to a big store. Nothing caught my eye. It was a small store and now that we have a pandemic going on you don't want to be that close to people! As I was walking out my boyfriend mentioned he saw toilet paper which is like gold now because you can't find tp anywhere. We can't find any at all so we needed it desperately! I didn't wait with him in line. I watched from the patio outside and saw the lady cashier touch my boyfriends card because it wasn't working which you should at least tell the customer by word of mouth instead of touching someone's card with gloves because we don't know what you've touched. People are trying to be safe and the cashier just grabbing the card is not okay! So after the transaction my bf looked surprised and I thought it was from the cashier handling his card with dirty gloves but to my surprise the 12 roll toilet paper and mind you it's not the good kind(off brand) that he purchased was $20!!!!!! Yes 12 roll toilet paper for $20 which is over the 10% price gauging mark. So if your desperate like we were because you couldn't find any toilet paper anywhere this place has it for not so cheap! I always shop at this market because it's close by to my home and have been coming here for years. This is the second time I've have an negative encounter with the rude deli man in the meat department. First time (another day) I asked for olives and I got yelled at to wait. Second time, I asked if someone can help me get an ice bag because there wasn't any available in the freezer. He used curse words and said "I don't know why people fucking are asking me to get ice every-time" HELLO! It's your job, you work there! Sorry I inconvenienced you to do your job. They stay open through the pandemic but they do not answer phone calls - which is a problem if you want to inquire about a specific item in their seasonal produce selection. This is one of the rare places where you can get fully ripe pomegranates and really fresh Persian pickles. I also shop here occasionally for other fresh and organic produce, poultry and assorted Twinings teas. Judging by the newspapers stand and their employees, the store's ownership has changed from Russian to Armenian, while preserving some of its original food items from the time it was first opened. read more

The more I come to this market, the more I love it. I keep finding items that are superior to those at other markets. The cigarette cookies here are the best! Even though they carry other brands, the Red Top brand is the best! They also have an amazing variety of side dishes and soups. I loved everything I purchased from this section. The meat and deli section is busy and that's always a good sign. I wish there was one closer to home. But when in the area, I always come here. Ample parking at 5:30 PM on a work day. I found the produce section to be well stocked with good looking veggies. Cauliflower was 99 cents a pound, so I grabbed two heads. Alas, when I was rung up, the price didn't match what was listed by the veggie. I pointed it out and was asked if I had a Red Top card. This was my first time ever visiting the store, so I said no. She adjusted the price, but I'm surprised they would have a discount card. SO FYI I guess they have a discount/savings card? I also got some 'ready made' food, but found it to be too oily (they use waaaaaay too much canola oil). I forgot to remove my credit card after paying for the things bought here and guess what happens it was used on a shopping spree of close to 100$ in the store itself followed by shopping in different stores across downtown before we asked bank to block the card. We decided to talk to the manager of the store to see if he could help but inspite of going to store 3 days in a row and even dropping an email but there has been no response. The only reason I wanted to talk to the manager was because there was no customer after me and I wasn't sure if one of employees used my card. Dear lady at the meat counter, There is no need to give me dirty looks when I ask to check the ingredients in the bologna, because as I have informed you, I am allergic to garlic and I needed to make sure there isn't any. I also needed to make sure there isn't pork in my bologna, because guess what, I have found bologna that doesn't have pork in it. So quit rolling your eyes at me, because I'm asking you to do your job and not play with your phone (yes, she was playing with her phone, there were no other customers). Also, when I ask for you to cut it, that means I want it cut like an actual AMERICAN deli would cut it, not in huge BLOBS that end up being 1/4 inch thick. And don't freaking tell me they fall apart, other stores manage to do it, so you should be able to do it as well. If you want horrible service and enjoy fighting with random rude people who speak little or no English, this is the place for you. I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to home but it's just disappointing. The selection of produce is very limited, and like Bob B. mentioned, not always fresh. They have an even tinier selection of some organic veggies - if they had more, I just might give this rating 1 more star. I wish they had more ready-to-eat food. For now, they have a selection of food like tabouli, hummus, beet salad, chicken salad, roasted veggies, stuffed grape leaves, etc., but they aren't that good - and I tried just about everything hoping that I'd find some diamond in the rough (no such luck). This is not a place for quick ready-to-eat Armenian food like I was hoping, but you can get some staples like bread, cheese, various oils, canned goods, and candy by the pound. A third of the store is Armenian junk food - chocolates, pastries (not all that good), and candy gift items. I think Red Top could stand to get a new buyer because the merchandise selection is just odd. At the very least they should do some research about what customers want. A lot of the products are gathering dust. Red Top, I wish you well and I am totally willing to to give you a higher rating. But in order for that to happen, you need to modify your inventory. A helpful start would be some FRESH, preferably organic produce. And ready-to-eat food that is actually tasty. Their chicken kabob meat is my favorite! Perfectly seasonsed and delicious! They've got fresh fruits and veggies and lots of great products from across the world. They've got a small selection of baked goods and i got lucky last time with some that came straight out oft he oven and they were to die for! Their pre-made salads and soups are delicious as well, my mom often buys those on her way home from work if she is too tired to cook and they are great! My favorite part is all the great seasonal fruits that are outside before you even get in the store. I can never just go in and out without buying things not on my shopping list. read more

Before I decided to go here, I asked several of my friends/family if this was a good market, of course, they said no. Interestingly enough, I actually enjoyed my shopping experience here. I went in on Saturday and it wasn't too crowded. The market had a variety of different meats/nuts/fruits/vegetables. The employees were super nice and helpful. The nicest part about this market is that there was so much parking! Unlike other Armenian supermarkets, people here aren't fighting for parking spots! I think the pricing is average, I wouldn't say its super cheap, but it's also not over priced. The prices are just average. Would definitely return! read more
