As with my other reviews, I may expect a lot. But you work hard for your $, so you deserve the best a company has to offer. Our HVAC of 32 years served us well, but it "was" time to replace. I personally performed most of all the other maintenance issues over the years for this unit, but needed a knowledgeable and consumer satisfaction goal driven company. I located this company, first by researching Rheem/Ruud HVAC systems, since that's what we had. Then I searched Google Maps for the address and what reviews were on Google. I contacted about 7 other companies, including "Costco referral". I received 9+/- estimates. Some were pretty high and a couple that seemed too low. Low bidders will cut corners to make a bigger profit. Seemed the "high" bidders are the ones with dedicated "sales agent" with a lot of overhead expenses, that YOU pay for. The self-employed, owner/operator that has their own name as the company name, really cares about customer satisfaction. IMO I asked my neighbors about their rooftop replacements, and saw the "finished" product, most all with local "companies". I got a better product!! My 45 years in the competitive grocery/home improvement industry allowed me to set guidelines for the company that I would contract with. I also checked for a active C-20 license. (https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/) The communication we had with text, phone and emails were so superior than other companies. I wondered if Will ever slept! With most "trades", because of the specialization of the service, it's tough to find businesses…read morethat don't take advantage of their customers. This isn't the case with RASP HVAC because the service isn't being provided by a "company" but by the man himself. My brand new AC system installed by the home builder started with a leak that left us with issuing a warranty claim after the first year of operation. The warranty repair never sealed the leak and we ended up with a sweltering home in the middle of summer in just a couple years. I found RASP HVAC on Yelp a few years later and after taking to Joseph thought he might be able to find the leak. Even though he wasn't able to find the leak, Joseph went the extra mile to check every component in the system and even some that aren't so obvious or easily accessible. Knowing he couldn't find the leak, he gave me a discount on the recharge. Although I'll have to continue to deal with my home builder's sloppiness, Joseph's honesty and integrity is what sets him apart from all others in the HVAC industry.

They had recommended replacing everything, Hvac units, ductwork AND furnace- times TWO because of our dual units. So yes- I found myself searching all over Yelp for second opinions. Our service call thru our home warranty out the window - We figured that we might as well replace them seeing as they were going on 20 years old. Within minutes of my yelp search- I found RASP HVAC with all their glowing reviews. Joe the first of several to be able to come out and give me an estimate. I almost stopped the rest of the scheduled estimates after his visit. Why? He was refreshingly HONEST- he wondered why I wanted a quote for ductwork and furnace- because to him- Everything looked fine- and if it were him- he would just do the HVAC Units. WOW. Not to mention he came in at little over 1/3 of price we had been quoted. Everyone else who came out didn't come anywhere close to his pricing. It also was a neat fact that he had some insight into our need to relocate the new hvacs around the corner of our home due to our future pool building as he had his own recent experience to draw from. The warranty company assigned the repair to: Air - Approved (Heating & Air Conditioning) As you could imagine, this time of the year and during a heat advisory, all HVAC companies are up to their collective eyeballs in folks needing A/C units fixed. The folks at Air - Approved were on it from start to finish. They provided me a heads up, via email and text, that they had been assigned the job. After our phone conversation I also received an email and text confirming the appointment date and timeframe for when the technicians would arrive. I even got a reminder the day before service they'd becoming and a message informing me they were en route day of service. (Also, the message instructs you to ensure the system is turned off at least 4 hours before they show up which is important. They can't work on an "iced up" system and would have to reschedule. Yes, the system can literally freeze up.) I love this - communication and being kept informed is so import - Well done! The technicians showed up well within the designated appointment time window. I briefly explained what I had observed the A/C system doing and the technician knew exactly what the problem was. He isolated a capacitor that had gone bad and it was the culprit. They performed the repair quickly and were on to their next customer. I couldn't be happier as a customer. I love supporting small and local businesses. Air- Approved has proven themselves through performance and they are now on my "Approved" list of preferred companies to continue doing business with in the future. They were courtesy, efficient, timely, professional, reliable and they followed up after service.
